As I'm sitting at my kitchen table in southern Ohio, watching this, I am shaking my head in complete awe of your incredible life choices and experiences. You are living an absolutely amazing, substantive reality!!! The scenery is so expansive and other worldly. I am 63 with a lifetime of building skills, carpentry, log building, woodworking/furniture making, plumbing, electric, roofing, running equipment, saw milling, on and on. Would you please consider adopting me? I won't be any trouble at all. I can sleep on the floor with the dogs. Just a wonderful video.
This was like watching a National Geographic documentary! The drone bit at the end....you were just tiny little figures in that great expanse of ice and snow....poetic....I have no words. Love to you both from New Hampshire. Suzi
I LOVE how the food is always one of Eric's favourites. I know people suggest a cookbook all of the time and I have heard you reply that you don't usually follow recipes and use weird ingredients. I honesty think that if you just wrote down approximately what you use, include the weird ingredients that we would be unlikely to have, we would all buy it anyway. If for nothing else than to support you and to enjoy the awesome pictures that you would include!!!!
Haven't watched video yet, and you may not like this, but for people like me, you're a breath of fresh air. I lived that life. Trapping, hunting, fishing, logging. 22 years in Alaska. But life has a way to change your course.
Yes it does... I came up here in 96 lived in the bush, ran dogs, etc... after an injury I have been unable to to many of the things I loved to do. My advise to them enjoy your youth...
The ice is called “the fingers of death”. It’s made when the salt from the sea hits the fresh water and super freezes it in long shards. When the glacier breaks it’s called calving.
I know that feeling when you're on a adventure but don't feel 100% safe but are proud of yourself after doing it and are happy you made it out alive! Beautiful glacier water ! Thank you for taking us on another awesome adventure ❤️🏔
I'm in my fifties and I haven't met many couples who communicate as well as you two. Kuddos to you! You are *perfect* for each other! It is a pleasure viewing your videos. Thanks for inviting us in! 🥰
I’m getting close to 70, and may never get to cross Alaska off my bucket list. So…. Thanks for taking me on your journies! Your photography is absolutely awesome. Keep on getting home safe as you keep on going!!

What an adventure, and tasting a glacier, now that's EPIC! Do yourselves a favor, invest in a pushpole and paddle for the boat. You can secure them out of the way along the gunwal. After years of guiding, I wouldn't leave the landing without these items. As handy as Eric is, you could probably make one 😉 but the telescopic aluminum ones are much easier to store away in the boat.
No matter how many vids in which the dogs are filmed I can’t help sending prayers for their health. They are remarkable in so many ways. You guys have added long life for these dogs through caring hands.
Even knowing you guys were safe and sound when I saw this, my heart was in my mouth. I just wanted you out of there, but what a beautiful sight to see-the water and the ice from the glaciers. WOW is all I can say. Hope your warranty is still good on the boat, and they fix your reverse. Please stay safe and God bless you two. Thanks so much for sharing.
Only you two are crazy enough to boat this river! When you are the only ones on the river...there is a reason. Well done. I was holding my breath the whole way!
That was a giant river compared to what we run down south My jet is a 300 v8 outboard on a 20 ft aluminum southfork and it will go through 1.5 inches of water
This video was fabulous y’all take us places that we can only dream of. Thank y’all so much for sharing your wonderful adventures with us. Y’all ROCK! Love 💕 y’all!

Another epic adventure. Thanks for taking us along to see the Knik Glacier. You two always come up with the best adventures!! I'm always looking forward to your next video!
Best part about your videos is your 2 older dogs that you treat so well. You can tell how much they mean to you, and how much they love you back. 💕 🐶 So sweet.
Ariel using drone controls... cut to picture of plane flying...Cal says to his wife, "Wait - how big IS their drone?..." Much laughter here in Michigan. Thanks for another great adventure!!!
Well, my opinion of the scariest adventure was the salmon fishing on that incredibly steep bank with a super-fast river; the best was the blue glacier which simply took my breath away.
Absolutely amazing and gorgeous video! Thank you a million for sharing your adventures with us. Always a joy to experience your videos. Already impatiently waiting for the other video 🙂. Much love from the Caribbean in Trinidad 🇹🇹
Gorgeous and exciting outing! Always fun to watch Bandit and Bo being Mr. Adventure and Mr. Mellow respectively. Salmon rolls are now on my must make list. Thanks for sharing your fun times.
This was awesome! The views, the music, the drone footage, everything…the excitement & adrenaline rush were palatable. I’ve only felt that a couple times in my life, where you’re so awe-struck/excited/scared that you forget to exhale. Fantastic!!!
My favorite part is how much you appreciate your surroundings.... WE don't get to see this everyday, but you guys do. I love how much YOU love it! Thanks for taking us along!
That was spectacular!! Your music choices to go along with whatever was going on at the time in the video were epic. Thanks for showing us so much good stuff in Alaska.
“Left or right? left or right?… so we went left…that wasn’t right!” 😂 well said! Thank you for the awesome video wow absolutely breathtaking footage and I’m glad y’all got back home safe and sound! ✌️

I hope you know how much we all appreciate you! The NPS is going to hire Arielle to take photographs one of these days, just like Dick Proenneke. 🙂
WOW!! The mountains and glaciers are so beautiful, and that water is just amazing(the color)! Glad you made it safe and sound. If I could send you some more sunshine from southern Arizona I sure would, I'd love to have some of your clouds and rain! It's 100 degrees here today, and was 104 yesterday.😬 Love you guys! I think this was one of my favorite videos! Those salmon rolls looked amazing and I'm like Ariel, I want to climb everything for that view. Great shots, really great editing and super good reminders that there is a real challenge to these adventures and they can be very scary. But worth it.
You've hit 580! Fantastic - you both deserve it. That's thousands not hundreds. Now I can watch the video. You have two of the luckiest dogs on earth. Bandit seems to thoroughly enjoy it. Bo seems to say , oh heck ANOTHER adventure!
WOW! Definitely one of your best video! The views are indescribably beautiful, its like being on another planet! Your videos are very professional quality. I was holding my breath while you were traveling on the river. Great job Captain Eric! No encounter with bears?🙁
This is awesome this is exactly why I moved to Alaska My grandfather built a fishing boat back in the fifties and he and my grandmother went to Alaska fishing I remember as a kid watching videos of the trip and has been a bucket list for me
I’m originally from Argentina, and this reminds me of the breathtaking glaciers we have in Patagonia. Loved it. I could almost feel that fresh cold air off glaciers, and how fun to take your boat in those waters. Scary! Keep on trying scary things!
Truely fabulous videos. Great Scenery. I love the Dogs they are so unusual breeds for these adventures however great pets. Love the drone footage of the Glacier. God Bless.
As a being born and raised in southern China, now have been living in South Florida for 20+ years person, visiting Alaska was one of my big dreams. Finally in June 2019, we took 7-day Norwegian cruise from Vancouver to Seaward and then by bus to Anchorage as a family vacation. Alaska is always an awe-inspiring, majestic, breathtaking and mysterious place to me. I very enjoy your videos, they fulfill my curiosities about living in this beautiful state. Thank you for taking me along to your adventures. Take care and be safe.
That was an EPIC trip! I don't know if it was the camera setting but the view was like being right there with you. The beauty of your surroundings was majestic. Arielle was right, in that moment, you couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you for taking us along for the ride. Also, you guys even upped picnic food to gourmet over the coals. (Though I expected that.😊) --Jessica from Florida 🌞
Now that was an incredible adventure, those views are spectacular! Ariel you capture such beautiful drone footage, makes me feel like I'm there. Great job
I never got a chance while in Alaska to visit a glacier. They were so far south of where I was. I've heard they are beautiful. The blue aspect is because the ice is dead or in other words contains no oxygen which creates a blue color. I find it so interesting how all that works and happened over thousands and thousands of years.
18:45 - So cool! I wonder if that fragmentation is due to the pressure the ice was under in the glacier. It reminds me of basalt columns which form hexagonal pillars when the magma cools and solidifies under intense pressures.
Glaciologist here! This is a great example of candle ice. Candle ice can form on lakes like this one during the melt season and is indicative of ice that has begun to "rot". The columnar shape results from the hexagonal structure of ice crystals which are weakest at the edges. This allows for sun and water to melt the ice perpendicular to the surface along these borders resulting in ice "candles".
No, it's just Candled Ice. Sometimes people call it Needle Ice. We get that on our lake too. It's pretty cool. Actually, this spring our hockey rink on the back yard turned into that as well, it's pretty fun to play with.
I hope you have some dry bags with extra clothing and food..matches etc. you never know when an unexpected something happens. An overnight stay on a very cold beach maybe! Your adventures do get the heart pumping. Absolutely Gorgeous. I can only imagine what your eyes are seeing. As a kayaker, you learn to read the water very well. The more your out on the water the more comfortable you will be. But never let your guide down. I hope your ride back to your truck was uneventful. Be safe! Looking forward for you next video, they don’t come fast enough. 😃
Love this video. I need to remember to watch your videos on days that I am not fasting. Love the French press coffee and cooking in a cast iron pot on an adventure to a glacier. Only you two can have such an amazing life. Thanks for sharing. Glacier blue is beautiful.
You both are absolutely amazing and I admire your life choices you have made. The scenery is beyond beautiful and thank you for sharing. It's very inspirational.
In the busy summer, I am always down for a garden video. In the off season, bring me to all the glaciers! Thanks! I just love what y'all do to share your lives with us.

Merci pour l'information. Thank you for the information.
There is no salt water that far up the river. It's a good 20-30 miles from nearest salt water.

Eric- "You didn't want any more, right?!" 10 seconds, Eric in a choke hold, tapping out! God Bless and stay safe.
'We went left and that wasn't right! '🤣🤣🤣
So Beautiful...
Thank You for showing Us Alaska....or Your neck of the woods...
Breath taking...
Love how Bo gives zero F's about a plane flying down past you guys.
You could be eating ice that is millions of years old. Awesome.
I agree, the hip waders are a must. Your adventure will be more pleasant.

Your brilliance is unmatched. Both of you.
In the busy summer, I am always down for a garden video. In the off season, bring me to all the glaciers! Thanks! I just love what y'all do to share your lives with us.
