I will forget the nodes. But I wanna keep in mind the last sentence you told 'Don't pressure yourself or overestimate your abilities to remember everything. It's okay to fail here and there. No one will judge. It's fine. It's sounds like a Ted Talk. Have a good day.
Dude, how are you insetting geometry using the polyextrude node without touching the sliders? are you holding something on your keyboard whilst middle mouse scrolling?
can you think of any reason why my curve never wants to draw? I randomly get it to work, but I'm not sure why it works sometimes, and not other. I've tried the shift+double click, which worked one time. Thank you for these tutorials! They are helping me create my own original content instead of just clicking along not knowing what I'm doing.
Possibly later. But in short, I'll give you needed steps: - create your geo and assign the bevel shader to your geometry - bake that info to a UVed geometry using Sidefx Labs "Simple Baker" - use resulting baked normals in sbsP in the 'normals' section - it will give the illusion of the edges being rounded More elaborate information on sidefx labs tools is on their website
Hey my dude! Question. I've made a model of a spaceship. It looks really good in houdini, but the moment i try and send it over to Quixel mixer (Texturing program) i get a lot of artifacts on the model, Is this a polygon issue or am i doing something wrong in houdini? Thanks for your time! And thanks for the tutorials! :)
Do you have proper normals? How it appears in viewport is default 60degree normal cusp, but it doesnt mean you actually do have them. Do you? Also don't forget to triangulate before game-engine export.
Hio! It was totally my bad, I messed up the Normal cusp angles! I kept thinking it was the model itself and went all bananas on divide, subdivide and bevels, Turned out it was just the normals.. Thank you so much regardless! Awesome tutorials! :D

Thank you a lot, my first tutorial about houdini modeling where I'm really learning something useful, step by step!
Great video. The C4D operation you're talking about at 9:20 is called Atom Array.
Nice Houdini Tutorials , really entertaining.
check out the updated videos as well
Thank you for this wonderful series ! Very effortless style, keep it up!
That was really nice at the end
woah you are at 270 likes now, 27 when you first made this, and now you have one from me! Excellent tutorial.
Thank you for making this. I'm finding it very helpful and learning a lot.

Maybe they changed something in updates
@@AriseWorks hey oh sorry I’m not sure if I was clear. How are you insetting when using the polyextrude node without touching the bar?
Is there a Circularize tool similar to Maya one, a grid fill, bridge etc?
Yes. Circle command and node. And others you mentioned too

Select curve node, mouse hover over viewport , press enter (maybe twice) - should do
Thank you super clear and very helpful.
Great video, great teacher. thanks a lot.
Glad you liked it! Be sure to check out the updated playlist.
can u show how to use the round edge bevel shader to use it in substance?
Possibly later. But in short, I'll give you needed steps:
- create your geo and assign the bevel shader to your geometry
- bake that info to a UVed geometry using Sidefx Labs "Simple Baker"
- use resulting baked normals in sbsP in the 'normals' section - it will give the illusion of the edges being rounded

Are you modeling hard surface models in other 3D applications or all models create in Houdini? Thank you!
For surfacing and/or when precision is necessary I use CAD - rhino/f360. For other things H does the job well.
Cool, thank you so much.

thanks ! I love your video. Please make more videos and share.
Quick Question, which keyboard are you using for making tutorials? It sounds so pleasant to me
It's from a small time vendor, does not even have branding on the body (pretty minimalistic looking overall), don't remember exactly who made it.
Great video. Thank you.
Thank You very much!
ns work man
thank you
why video resolution 360
youtube still processes it. check back in an hour or so~~
