    Copying things - how hard can that be? Apparently, you have to know a bit of some trickery to make copying geometry elegant, fast, and procedural.
    We will tackle a problem of orienting things the way they were supposed to be or how you would expect. Then, we discuss how to orient copies after we scatter points on geometry.
    It's a good things to know and know how to control if you were to create scenes that contain lots of copies, and it will give us the needed knowledge for our projects to come.

    I really appreciate that you are actually teaching and explaining how everything works, as opposed to just quickly showing a node structure and some effect. I feel more capable of making my own original ideas and effects after watching lessons like this. This is more of a lesson than a tutorial...which is amazing. Thank you!

    Урааааааа!!!!! Лёд тронулся ! Я начал понимать Houdini . Именно с этого урока . Две недели я смотрел и читал - смотрел и читал . Посмотрел очень много роликов об этой программе . И не мог понять Houdini . Я думал , что я глупый старый и мне не дано в этом разобраться . Я думал , что в принципе не способен преодолеть меру сложности , присущую программе . Но я снова и снова читал , смотрел , сравнивал . Прошло две недели . Две недели !!! И вот на этом ролике Houdini открылся . Для меня открылся . У меня забегали пальцы . Стали связываться результаты нажатий . Ох как я хочу запрыгнуть на эту прогу . Целая зима впереди . Работы нет и не надо . На улице QOWID . Буду до весны осваивать Houdini . Я должен её освоить . Сижу за компьютером час , потом иду чистить лопатой снег во дворе . Кот накромлен и не орёт . Сажусь и дальше кусочек за кусочком перевариваю этот урок . Уфффф . Пошёл на вечернюю пробежку . Мороз -21 по Цельсию , бежать будет легко . Всем Good...ini !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    amazing tutorial but am confuse in when to use poly frame and when to use facet compute previous normal,
    dose it mean use facet it when using point scatter and use poly frame if am using copy stamp ?

    • @AriseWorks
      @AriseWorks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      poly frame will help you compute normals when there is no polygonal mesh, as in case with curves

  • @chrisgg

    I'm struggling with merging the copies into one mesh and UVing them. Any tips on the nodes I should use on the final "copy-to-points"output?

    • @AriseWorks
      @AriseWorks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If all the items have UVs before they got copied, you don't need to do anything with them.

    Hi thank you for the tutorial! I was wondering why use the resampling node instead of just copying to a circle polygon points, it seems there isn't any difference at all?

    • @AriseWorks
      @AriseWorks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can move points of circle around in any fashion you like, and resample those in any number of points you want, even if you want to resample based on distance, which will give you different options to copy to.

    • @AriseWorks
      @AriseWorks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heya. Not sure. Try again, step by step. I do not skip anything and this is not a time-lapse, it should work if you copy every part of the vid.

    sorry, it doesn't behave the same has with the old POINT node, which was deprecated . i brought the node using textport and checked.

    How will make copies just on a single point(like the end point of the line). Also can you please tell me how to multiple copies of a line to the end point of each previous generated copy of the line( like extending the line by copies of it) .

    • @AriseWorks
      @AriseWorks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Group by Range will help you to select first and last points. The other question I'm not sure I understand. Watching other vids might have a question though, I cover things here and there from different topics.

      @@AriseWorks thankyou so much for the tutorials 😇. I wanted to make a sawtooth/triangular wave like shape(like this /\/\/\/\/\/\....) I thought of making it by copying the line to the end point of the line of each previously generated copy of the line and it should be able to change the amount of sawtooth by changing the amount of the copies. I tried to make this but I can't get it done, so I have made it with a different technique using attribute wrangle and for each point node.
      If you have a solution for this using only line,copy, transform nodes it will be much easier. Thankyou
