I don't necessarily trust Guinness. Someone actually did finish walking to the Farlands. AntVenom made a video on it. Guiness World Records is a promotional company and you often have to pay to get in.

Depends on how they worded the record
you need to be either popular and/or have a money ready to pay them for the record. that's how GWR works.

Shouldn’t the most downloaded piece of content be just enough items with over 50 million downloads?
Most known downloads would be JEI yeah.
Optifine PROBABLY has more, but its impossible to know without Optifine's dev releasing the downloads.
As for why JEI didnt count, Im assuming that guiness meant to say most downloaded map but Im unsure.
forge should be most downloaded piece of content.. any mod including optifine and JEI still needs forge to run

Correction: Optifine doesnt need Forge, its a jar mod. Though they both use MCP mappings so thats something to note.
Also, Fabric exists, while its not as big its still good to note that you dont NEED Forge to run some of the newer mods.
Either way, Forge didnt cross my mind, and more likely than not your probably right. Kudos to you my guys.

A journey it's measured in the time you take to do it, not the lenght of the trip, I think..
Because then the longest journey would be when Antvenom fell to minus infinity in the void

Not exactly; the youtuber that reached it a long time ago has been traveling longer than the guy the recently reached it. Therefore, the youtuber you are talking about doesn't have the longest journey.

I found out recently, that those strange minecraft records like the 3 castles one...are most likely just paid for (around £2000) literally anyone can do it. Years of my childhood ruined as I learned Guiness World Records is literally just a business and literally anyone could ‘buy’ a record 😂

The Guinness world's record for the largest pixel art isn't even the largest, the largest pixel art is the Veil Nebula pixel art with 3.5 million blocks, I think SalC1's video can explain this better, th-cam.com/video/jUEYVVdmcHU/w-d-xo.html.

A Guinness world record is a Guinness world record. GWR needs a lot of proof to become verified, big props to the pixelartist who built it, however if they aren't interested in it being a Guinness World Record then that is their choice. I would love to see someone break my GWR

I just found out about this video! I want to start off by saying that I'm impressed by the effort you put into digging up these facts. To give you some information, I still play bedwars and some other casual games occasionally but mostly I'm busy with regular everyday work^^

Sadly, after the Billy Mitchel scandal i'm skeptical regarding Guinness.
after that Billy Mitchell scandal, my faith in Guinness World Records dropped to zero. As far as I'm concerned, their authority over video game world records is non-existent
What happened?
Billy and the ex-CEO of twin galaxies cheated the highest score in pacman and his career is a huge lie, he started to sue everyone who was against him, this included a lot of famous speedrunners such as Karl Jobst and people who also proved he is a cheater, so the Guinness organization was afraid of him due to twin galaxies being in his side and re-instated his fake world record. Now the new CEO of twin galaxies sued the ex-CEO and Billy for fraud, basically started to clean the house. Probably in the future, Guinness will eventually remove Billy's records but this not mean their reputation will recover in the gamer community due to Guinness "lack of balls", making the organization easily exploitable with bribe nor intimidation.

Small thing- having a team of 6 creators and 20 testers is not really considered remarkable nowadays in the mapmaking community, but Diversity 2 is still a great map.
The reason why theres weird records are because you can just pay guiness some money then they will put your weirdass speedrun in the site aslong as its a world record.
I don’t think it has to be the best it just has to be the best one that has been verified by Guinness
Some fun info:
10:45 those rounding errors have been fixed today with player movement, but are completely broken with hitboxes, mob movement (disabling their ability to move), and the geometry of certain blocks like lecterns and sun flowers (information from @ibxtoycat)
The longest marathon was actually broken only about a year ago. @Cxlvxn beat it and streamed it for like 54 hours. Still very impressive tho.
I love how MC speedrunning this year was so chaotic that the record that went into the book was set seed glitchless 1.9, probably the most uncommon MC speedrun category

Man, I remember watching some of Thorlar’s streams. He’s just chilling and chatting while making this absurdly huge pixel art. Amazed and sad that the record was broken. Wish I had the time to watch his streams more.

Interesting video, didn't think there were so many records! Did you know that a youtuber called @PippensFTS is building the ENTIRE planet Earth in minecraft?
Im not joking, he made some videos in which he and his friends calculated how to represent it the best way possible and it's all documented by his youtube videos.

Back in 2015, an Norwegian youtuber named noobwork, hosted an event called «hele Norge bygger» or «Norway builds» all off the servers combined could fit about 200000 players, which is 4/10th of Norways population. I don’t remember How many people joined in, But it Was so well known in Norway that the prime minister, Erna Solberg joined in on Joachims stream(Joachim is noobworks real name). It Was streamed from 12PM to 12AM. It was Even live On 12 TV channels.
Should've mentioned KilloCrazyMan, who made it to the far lands on foot earlier this year. Even though it isn't a guiness world record yet, it's still very noteworthy on the topic of Kurtjmac

I'm happy to see that a fellow Fairy Tail fan broke a minecraft world record using a Natsu wallpaper as a model for his pixel art, it's so well done and big i couldn't see it was a minecraft pixel art
tbh I haven't seen an episode, I want to watch it one day though. My pixelart are mostly requested by other people, Natsu was one of them.

I don’t really get why people trust Guinness, they’re not reliable at all. I guess people just assume that because they’re well known, they’re trustworthy? Anyway the one specific one I wanted to mention that Guinness got wrong was the pixel art one bc that was the most impressive to me... there is/was a map art called Veil Nebula on 9b9t that was 12 x 18 maps, or 1536 x 2304 blocks. Still massive respect to the guy who made the one in the video, only problem I have here is with Guinness

Many of these "world records" sound more like Guinness trying to make the most out of the big popularity of the game back then.
What about Philza’s 5 years of hardcore
GWR is an awful source when it comes to gaming related world records. The records there are incredibly out dated (and were probably never an actual world record in the first place). The official world record for the longest tunnel dug in Minecraft is 10,502 blocks. However 2B2Ts nether highways go on for several million blocks. And that is just one of many things.
