Shout out to Randy. He's a good guy and friend to you and Mr. M. Glad to see he had a starring role this go round. Enjoyed the Vid. Thanks for taking us along Gly.
Another fun adventure. But is anyone else missing that amazing intro with the great narration and awesome arial footage? It always got me excited for the adventure we were about to watch.
This episode was a geology fan’s dream come true. Thank you for giving us more time for the rocks! Also, I like that Randy is talking more on camera. 😁
Gly, very well produced! Your explanations of the area, geology and taking the time to talk about the rock structure was one of the best yet, great job! This makes the adventure so much more interesting to really understand what the old timers were looking for and what the rock structure consists of. Having Randy close by so there is some discussion added much. Would be good to have Randy accompany you and the deeper more challenging explorations and would add interesting video of just how hard you work to get into some of those places.
“Ropes, where we’re going, we don’t need ropes” let’s hope that never ends up being your last quote. Another great episode. I definitely relate to Randy’s analytical nature. I’m the same way, and Im certain I would take forever looking around at everything there is to see. Looking forward to next weekends video. Stay cool out there 😎 it’s gettin HOT!
Gly's channel just puts the other mine exploration channels to shame in many ways. I still enjoy/watch some of those others. But they don't even compare in terms of cinematography and a very good explanation of things IMO. It's just really hard to watch those others now. Abandoned and Forgotten Places has really set the bar. LOVE these videos! Even my retired father and mother-in-law love this channel, and watch it often. Keep up the good work!
did you get a chance to go see Jon over at the Florence mine ....now that is a fun explore with so much History in tact ....there are so many deep shafts in that area ....can see you dropping down a few of them ....so you know what I am gonna say huh .....
“Gly”: No, not yet Jeff. Mostly because the Florence has already been well documented. I suppose I could put my own unique spin on it but there’s just so much in this area to explore that has never had a camera in it. Your right, I’ll be Schnozzolating another shaft this week that I’m certain no person has been in for decades.
WOW GLY!!! epic job on this episode!!!!! Thank y’all so much for creating a show that takes my mind away from all the chaos that’s happening in the world, you are truly gifted
A" geological explore", great! Look at the those neat swirls in the strata and layering lines running thru those sandstone rocks Randy picked up! You did!!??, 22:13. Boy, would I like to walk that country; so many rock specimens to find (and sooo, little time) ha,ha. Good show!
Enjoyed watching the changes in the rocks as the adits went further into the hill. Especially liked the folds and curves in the first mine. Kind of like a geology museum!
Fantastic Video !!!! I use to talk to Jim Straight years ago before he passed. He always preached about metal detecting Eluvial placers looking for Epithermal Deposits. Especially on the Walker Trend area. Ive Been metal detecting / prospecting / and meteorite hunting around Goldfield / Tonopah areas for years. So much to cover, so little time.... Thanks for taking us along on your journeys... keep up on the informative geology....
Thank you for showing us the geology of the mines. I find that the most interesting part of mine exploring. In my next life I hope to come back as a geologist.
Randy is pretty mellow and the team needs a skinny guy for those tight spots....Mr. M is cool...little grumpy but provides the humor for the group....Gly is crazy with mine trivia! Good entertainment...
@ 21:55 I'm about 15 years your elder and I also did some CRAZY and also STUPID things back when I was YOUNGER exploring old mines. I am lucky to be alive today..... My grandkids don't believe grandpa was that CRAZY when I tell them the stories of my youth. ☠️⚒️⛏️
Mr. Gly, Love the lesson on geology in this episode. Great work. I am fascinated by your channel, and appreciate all the work you, Mr. M, and Randy do. The stratification of the rocks, the colors of the various minerals, etc. make me wish I could get a photo, print, or something to put in my house. I have a small house, so rock collections are not really viable, but pictures are. Keep up the great work, you are by far the best mine exploration channel on TH-cam.
Yea! A&FP is on. Love Saturday mornings! Hey, Gly, around 24.02, what is that reddish stuff to the left as I'm seeing it, as you're crawling out that drift? I've never seen that before.
3 suggestions: 1) Use the low cut filter on the microphone. Still got some bumping and thumping. 2) Give Mister M or Randy a checklist for your activities. Pilots use them so they don't forget stuff! 3) Use the preview footage as your open. Yes, everyone else does it. Its OK to be like everyone else sometimes. People like to see what is coming up. Thanks! Keep up the good work!
I'd love to explore the Goldfield area. The amount of mines that sprung up there is just astounding! Thanks Guys for a glimpse into how the old timers searched for riches held underground.👍
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. My geology prof. Was one of the most interesting people I ever learned from. When I gave him a sold all sized meteor that fell on the farm he went galactic you’d think I bought him a new car.🤗🇺🇸
Lol, as you was crawing thru the backfill driff, it reminded me of a time we had a camera down a groundhog passage way , looked about the same tight fit.be safe doing that . That’s some very soft rock.
there used to be a shut down gold mine in my town that you could take tours of, sadly it was closed and sealed before i was born, i would have loved to see it, now your video's let me live out that dream of touring a old mine, so thanks, keep up the good work, but also, stay safe

So Gly, that dark rock that was behind you at the beginning of the video is that basically a Lava Flow? You know you guys give Randy a hard time but he seems like a real cool guy. Quiet but a nice guy. I hope that Mr. M is doing well. I love his Abandoned and Forgotten Footage channel.
Learned a lot! Seen some old maps online and found a bunch of mines here, recently someone’s yard/house fell some into a mine, was crazy. Didn’t know they mined here in Michigan besides rock pits of course
In the second Adit you went into Gly, you completely missed a massive Widowmaker, a massive crack in the back of the mine where it starts about in the center and goes off to the right rib and the gap between the falling piece and the back must have been at least an inch! It was above a smaller collapse that you walked over to explore the rest of the mine. Another great video. You might add a small hand held metal detector and scan the soft seams along the way that gold would have traveled. Wish I could do that again, I used to rock climb more than explore holes in the ground, explored caves in Okinawa back in my younger days but the locals frowned on it because there were still dead in them, fortunately I never seen one there. A couple of buddy's and I did find a MIA Marine right on our base, Camp Hansen, we were walking across a wide open field when one kicked at a piece of rusty metal, it turned out to be a completely shattered 45 pistol, I still have the rusty barrel, as we explored further my other friend found a dog tag, I didn't think it was because it was round and not like the WW2 tags I had seen. I did not know that during WW2 that Marine's had different tags than the Army. Well long story short it did belong to a missing Marine and his remains were right there, they were retured to his family, it was a little unnerving. 👍❤🇺🇸
I was watching a video about mining in Ghana, and I though of your channel. They were mining for a valuable mineral used in cell phones, and the conditions were such that I think even the mighty Gly would turn back. The material they were digging in wasn't actual rock, but almost like clay.
