“Gly”: Thank you very much for all your input in last weeks video! As you can see, many changes were made but On Screen Maps (OSM) continues to evolve. Good or bad I’d appreciate your input regarding OSM on this weeks video. Thank you.

As a 'map guy' and former draftsman, I totally appreciate the maps and diagrams. For you to have them inside is a win win. I love how you mashed up the 2 maps. Not only gave me a sense of remoteness but also scale.
Have you tried Google Earth pro and imported kmz. You can get a 3d track that might show the workings a bit more 3d. Not sure if a gps app would work underground or not. Like a bike route tracker.

Hey, I love the way you display the map in this video. The only thing I'd add is black outline so it will be visible when the background is light. This can be done very easily in photoshop assuming you already a map with removed background.

The maps(s) youbised this weekend were perfect! They add a different and more specific feature as to where you are and where you're going. The actual transparency of the map on the screen so we can still see what you see is great 👍
Thank you again Gly for your efforts and everything you bring us.
      Stay safe dude!

Gly, thanks so much for these awesome videos, but for you to continue to bring all of this awesome stuff to light, you need to be here. Being fatigued and overly tired leads to accidents in mines. Please take care of yourself so you can keep doing what you do best....FYI, by watching you, I will stay out of the mines since you bring them to my tv....many thanks again pal...you are awesome.

    • @2ndfloorsongs

This is probably how I'd do a mine. I'd be really miserly with the dynamite and make it a little too small and I wouldn't want to haul all that rock out so I'd gob too much. 😁

Yeah I agree with you Gly, it definitely is best to keep quiet about a mine that’s still open. It would be a shame for a mine that is hidden to most mine explorers like you end up being a no-entry mine. Especially for those who have explored it yet.

Hi Gly. I like the map overlay much better than last week. A few seconds doesn't block as much. I also agree with you to keep the "explorers" from trashing the mine. You know the type, graffiti, beer or pop cans, etc. I hate people like that, don't you? My husband and I found a mine in southeast Utah. We ended up going inside and it was pristine. Only went in a few hundred feet. But it was cool to see. It went on further but we weren't properly outfitted, so we went back out. Take only pictures, leave only footprints was our motto. And should be everyone's. Can't tell you how many camping trips I've done with my family and picked up other people's trash.
But keep safe, Gly, keep hydrated with electrolytes. Heat exhaustion is nothing to fool with. I'm a Retired nurse with many years experience, so be safe. Great video. 👍
BTW, I laughed when you saw the hole you opened up from the inside and said, "I'll be damned!" Definitely a Murphys Law sort of thing, huh? 😆 🤣

I had mixed feelings about the map last time, but making it transparent and only putting it up when we need to refer to it and keeping it down the rest of the time so we can see the mine is the way to go. And oh boy whenever you can overlay it on a topo... I love that.

      @Gma7788 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heat?
I'm in the middle of winter.
I can tell you that I'm experiencing the Antarctica melt and this new cold air coming from Antarctica is really freezing.
This air is like nothing I've experienced ever before.
I'm not sure if this cold is going to make the worst summer of all time or if summer will be mild.
It looks like gly is running out of clean fresh air in that mine.
Antarctica has released a whole lot of clean fresh air but it will take a while to get to gly.

As somebody who used to enjoy digging up more information on a mines history back when their location or name was openly published stumbling on a mine map was a nice touch while going down the rabbit hole. I like your discovery of the south portal from both sides. I would venture to say that not many people get to do that. It seems to me that the gobbing was actually in the way at times. I think it would have been better (for that mine) if they had hauled all of that outside. I noticed several almost all green rocks among the gobbing that might have made nice specimens too.

Gly, OUSTANDING job of expanding the maps. Makes it easy to pause the video, study (and read) the map, and then continue. Now then, you speak Long and Hard about the danger in these mines, and you should NOT have gone into this one. Your respiration's were labored throughout, you were struggling to breathe, and obviously exhausted... beginning when you entered. You were Not on your A-game, buddy. You survived this one, you threw the dice and won, but what about next time? We Love your shows, you're without a doubt thee best at what you do, but like I told any number of student pilots over the years..., DON'T be the first person to the scene of the crash!
Next time, I want to see and hear you all chipper, excited, and fresh! And then tell us: "I planned to explore this one yesterday, but. I listened to you guys - and my own words - and put it off until tomorrow.............

“Gly”: Yeah, I should’ve held off and explored this one the following day after finally finding it but Old Bob took quite a beating getting into that location and I certainly didn’t want to put him through it again. I really didn’t feel like staying overnight either.

I wondered about the mines decimating all the trees wow how sad that beam you were standing next to, probably over 100 yo.
But hey I'm always amazed with the work these men put in stacking all the rock to one side! Ha I know people that do it for a living and their's doesn't look that good!🐾👍

Don’t forget to drink plenty of that water… though I suspect it is kind of easy for you to remember that as you trek up and down mountains! Crazy mines!

Hi Gly, I think you made a wise decision to not show where this mine is as before you know it there will
be a darn bat gate in place. A cool mine and I'm glad you found the South Portal, that's awesome.
Thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤

Love watching you explore these old mines as they so different to uk ones, so I have a question to ask. Do you watch other countries abandoned mine explorers and if so what's the biggest difference you see
