I echo what others have said, thank you for putting this together, it sets a lot of peoples minds at ease. Road conditions looked fairly good except during the last 10 miles or so.

Thanks for putting this together. I'll be there racing it without any real course recon other than this!

The route you went is different than the course on the website. The route on the Ironman site takes Dallas rd to Keeene rd, then passing mile 40 mark, but you turned onto Kennedy rd, and then got onto Keene off of West Latin rd.

I thought it was more climbing than this shows. You might have just convinced me to do it next year! Getting the hills over at the start isn't so bad.

What mount do you use for the bike POV?!? I’m struggling to find one I like!! Great video of course.

Super super late to the reply, but GoPro has a bike mount that you can buy. I turn it upside down for mounting the GoPro. Pretty easy to do; you just need to make sure to have enough handlebar tape or rubber clamps to ensure a tight clamping such that it doesn't move when you ride on the rough stuff.

How do you think about the gear ratios? I'm running 54/42 and 11/23. With 11% grade, should I swap out to 11/25 or 11/28 to allow for better cadance?

I would say swap out for an 11/28 for a better cadence and for riding just in general - having more gear options for different climbs will help you get through a larger variety of hills!
