खूप छान माहिती दिली आहे तुम्ही. मी मुंबई पोर्ट ट्रस्ट मधून निव्रुत्त झालोय. बेलॉर्ड इस्टेटशी खूप जिव्हाळ्याचे नाते आहे. तुमची आई ज्या पोर्ट ट्रस्ट रेल्वे मेनेजरच्या इमारतीत होत्या तिथेच खाली कोर्ट आहे. केफे युनिव्हर्सलच्या गारेगार आठवणी ताज्या झाल्यात. १९८५ च्या दरम्यानच्या काळात तेथे आर्लेम पिल्सनर नावाची प्रसिद्ध बियर मिळायची. त्यावेळी तिची किंमत ₹१४/- असल्याने खपही भरपूर असायचा - रा. र. राऊळ

Absolutely right. in early days, there were a lot of marathi contributors to the development of Mumbai, but these politicians did nothing to protect the marathi people. As as reasult, the original residents (let it be Parsi, Marathi, Gujrati, Koli, Aagri, Bohra, etc) were pushed out of Mumbai and what we see now is over populated city with the infras literally crumbling under the load.

Current politicians do nothing but change the names of places, roads, and buildings. The identify of a place is the people or the community and their businesses of that place, and that should be protected. If you push away all Dhobi community then the Dhobi-talav makes not sense. Girgaon, Dadar, all marathi folks being pushed away. Many koli/ Aagri padas are given to builders. The fishing community is over-powered by the outsiders. And the government does nothing.
