I was at this gig, can see me a few times during the set. One of the best nights I ever had. The energy in the venue when this came on you can't replicate on a video but it's something that'll always stick with me
They definitely rehearsed the song to play that night. Matt was just hamming up the crowd, Matt Bellamy style 😂 While it wasn't as improvised as Matt made it seem, kudos to them for rehearsing it and being prepared. While touring un 2013, their stage lit up like a roulette wheel, where landing on red/black would reveal whether New Born or Stockholm Syndrome would be played next. It was always staged, but they made it look random. There was also one green slot... towards the end of their tour at Madison Square Garden, they had it land on green, and Matt said "it landed on green what does that mean? Dead Starrrrr!" and they played Dead Star. This was obviously planned as well, but I am happy about it. It was my 30th Muse gig, and the first time I actually got to see them perform it.
The simplicity of this song is what makes it so good and makes it a fantastic crowd participation song, thanks again for your great reviews and vid's David, you always bring a touch of professionalism and also heart to your reactions it is much appreciated :)
Yes. Dead Star is that simple but very good song. Often cited (by their earlier fans) as one of their heavier songs. Personally I have a few favorite bands with simple but very good songs too.
I prefer the live versions to the studio version, so I'm glad you're doing a live performance. Edit: Though I have to say, there's other clips with better sound quality. I love the Hullabaloo version.
On a side note, I don't listen to most of your content so I have no idea if that's a new thing, recurrent thing or not but when Iistening to your first Broken By The Scream reaction, it sounded more bass heavy than when I listened to the original video you were playing.
I listened to both several times with the same headphones to check if it wasn't just me for any reason and the difference is tiny but imo, it is there. No idea what it's related to though so it might sound like a complaint but it's not that big of a deal anyway.

Dead Star is in the pantheon of Top 3 Muse songs I've wanted to hear live but never had the chance! They never play it in the US!!!

Thanks for this react, more muse pleaaase 🙏🫶🔥🔥💯
Hulabaloo version is great but this is one of the best versions of deadstar out there so you picked a good one
Well it was the requester who picked the video, so the credit should go to the requester.
Muse I miss u in channel....
I clicked on the notification so fast lol
Why not Hullabaloo 2001 version ? much cleaner/equalized sound and a better live performance, This music is B-Side, they rarely play live
It's the same song bruh. Sure, the Hullabaloo performance is probably better, but Mr. Heretic still gets the overall idea of the song.
@@OurSocietyPodcast to add to that he plays from the submitted link in the request
V festival version is better than both
Always Matt with his improvisations)

Good
Sound, maybe the recording itself, for me at least, is extremely bass heavy. It feels like trebles were crushed.
