It lost it soul. The W12 was the cherry in a cake full of luxury! It was way too special to be discarded like this. And the worse was being replaced by an engine so vulgar! Yes, one can say that it is a technology marvel but still!
I can see why they're going with the trend of switching to a hybrid but the W12 had so much personality. Personally I don't like the look of it but the rest is pretty cool
Holy shit, this thing is indeed enormous. I love how the world claims to be going green, but show me a vehicle that doesnt get heavier & larger, year after year.
'Claims' being the operative word. EV's create vastly more carbon (due to the manufacturing phase), and we're all just sending heavy industry to China to hit 'net zero' while total carbon for the planet remains the same. It's provably virtue signalling nonsense.
More a case of Germans being excellent in marketing. I assume they believe the Bentley has enough of an identity and appeals to a certain buyer that it doesn't need a unique powertrain.
Bentley has taken the Panamera platform as a base for the continental and flying spur since the new models came out in 2018 or so (and the V8 and V6 hybrid). Only logical that it now gets the two chamber dampers and hybrid v8
You could have it fully customized up to the thread color upon purchase, Sir. Hope that won't make too much a headache to choose among the 30 colors available for leather panels. 😃
What a beautiful video! I did some army service in that corner of Switzerland and must say that a Continental GT looks much better in the mountains than my army truck ever did...
Bentley done it right their use of V8 hybrid system for better weight balance❤❤❤❤ just amazing and yeah, still proper Continental that deserves its Speed name plate. Great video keep it up Ollie 😂
Maybe when you have a Continental to play with for a few hours, you can casually ignore the shrunken boot, but it's now fractionally smaller than a Roma or a DB12's, making it even less likely it'll be used in the way its maker intended (it's a bit unbecoming to lob all your travel bags on the back seat). Which is a real shame, because I'd buy this precisely for its long distance credentials. Credit to Bentley though for continuing to offer a car in the most glamorous segment of them all.
I think the W12 was the best, but this is the future. It's the best sporting GT available. I also like it's alter-ego: The Porsche Panemara Turbo S/ Turbo S e-Hybrid. Bentley are built to last. My late uncle wanted one.
The earlier editions of the Continental had a pretty good record in endurance racing. Bently stopped having a works team shortly after they reached 100 years old. That's unfortunate. I miss seeing them eat up the track while looking like they were going to eat the competition.
We'll ignore the interior spec, but for me the Conti GT has been low-key the best car in the world for a while. I never used to like them during their footballer phase but that's been passed onto the Lambo Urus, and the Bentley seems classier again (some may disagree). If you're giving me just one car to do everything (especially living in the UK where driving can be stressful!), I'm probably taking a Conti.
This car is beautiful but Bentley needs to step it up a notch! The exterior looks exactly like a Genesis. And yes, I know some will come and say that Genesis got inspired by Bentley, copied them, hired the same designer, etc. but the reality is that the Genesis design language has been out for almost 5 years now so Bentley has had more than enough time to reinvent. Their premiums command differentiation and this redesign is far from that.

Very nice, though the video did remind me the last time I drove the Swiss mountain passes was about 40 years ago in a 1.3 Metro. 700bhp less. Still fun though.
It’s seems green is the color all the manufacturers working with this year, the new Bentley continent gt launch color :green. Aston Martin db12: green, 2025 BMW m5: green
I like the colour, it is very similar to the colour Jungle Green that Holden used on their VF Commodore range. In regards to the headlights, that line through the middle just looks so wrong.
I don’t care how amazing this car is, the front grill is HIDEOUS. There has to be a more elegant way of incorporating the required driver assistance gizmos.
Thing with brands such as Bentley and Rolls Royce, they are vehicles that should last a life time but adding in bybrid with batteries totally distroys this.
I suppose the way Bentley benefits from the rise of performance EVs/PHEVs is that making over-two-tonne cars handle well enough is now an industry imperative... although, lest we forget that the old-money Brooklands Coupé of 2008 weighed 2700kg without any hybrid gubbins at all. So they're not being TOTALLY excessive with mass anymore, it seems.
This car is beautiful. But with still some 10/15 years before electric obligation, the previous generation will still hold a good time (and value) as this one won’t
A GT?…well you have to send your luggage ahead with the baby boot…and what a lump it is….more dynamic…but colossally heavy…almost 1000 kilos more than a DB12….those brakes better be good…😂😂😂

Out with the W12, in with the V8 hybrid… so what's your verdict?
