You have such a talent for choosing and mixing fabric colors. This quilt proves it! I love it! I"m afraid to try the starch applique method. I still use the wax paper or just paper method and hand baste my pieces to it, then sew the pieces down. I remove the paper either by pulling it out just before the piece is completely sewn down or I clip the backing behind the applique piece and pull out the paper. It's also an older method but I get nice smooth edges at curves. I do the fusible machine applique on my "quickie" or kid quilts. I LOVE that you are teaching tried and true methods that are soooo often much better and easier than many of the newer methods of doing things, such as a ruler for every quilt that is costly and usually not needed. A pet peeve of mine is being told I need to buy a plastic template for every drunkard's path block. It's usually not needed either. I really enjoyed this tutorial! Thank you!!
Good Morning Beth, Wow, this Quilt is Beautiful ❣️ I had to take a screenshot of it.. or I wish I could work on this today. I always love an Irish chain, too, it always catches my eyes. ❤️❤️❤️ Love it❣️ I hope you have a wonderful weekend, 🥰 Chris
Really interesting Beth! I’ve never seen freezer paper used like that. Actually I’m not sure we have freezer paper here in the UK. Such a beautiful quilt ❤️
that's absolutely beautiful you did a great job i don't even like applique but that is great if my fingers would let me i would try it but i don't hand sew a lot hurts my hands keep up the good work
What stitch are you using? Ladder stitch or a small slip stitch? This awesome video came just in time as I am wanting to learn appliqué and hand quilting. After my several WIPS of course☺️
I like the look of applique, but it has always been a challenge. So, I tend to shy away from it. How does freezer paper stick to the fabric? Is there wax on the shiny side?😮
Straight out of yesteryear.❤🤗🙏
I haven’t seen this appliqué technique before. So many good ideas, so well demonstrated! Thank you!
Beautiful quilt Beth.👍🇦🇺

You are a lot braver than I am. I wouldn't have the patience and don't have the eye site to do this. Just beautiful. Thank you, awesome!

Very pretty Beth. Gives a warm vibe.
beautifully done Beth!!
Great idea to divide sections with iron foods. You have such simple solutions and are so down to earth. I'm learning so much.
I love this quilt. You are so patient to sew by hand. Thank you for the inspiration.❣️❣️
Very very sweet
Using the paint brush is a great idea.
Love this pattern...😊
My goodness! So beautiful! The starch idea looks really helpful. Is there ever a place to use the spray adhesive to anchor instead of basting?
Beautiful, Beth
Love this!
Beautiful work!!! Just curious Beth, how many quilts do you have on the go at one time?! ha!!! You're so multitalented. 🤩
A few at a time😉
Looks great sweet, well done always enjoy watching your video's x
Thank you
Again, your color combos are so good..artistic..what an eye you have..👍(KH)
Love your work
Thank you!
Beth, try tracing the pattern once, then staple 4 layers of the freezer paper together to cut all at once.
If you don’t have Best Press, you could spray a bit of Spray Starch into its lid. Then “paint” it on.
Glue stick will help the appliqué staying on

I think the stitch goes by both names? I am trying to hide the stitch.
So do you grab the material on the bottom first with your needle the the top appliqué shape?
Yes… if I’m understanding correctly 👌
I like the look of applique, but it has always been a challenge. So, I tend to shy away from it. How does freezer paper stick to the fabric? Is there wax on the shiny side?😮
Yes… shiny side sticks
👍❤️😊
Uggh beautiful
