Want faux rice paper too? Instead of ironing, try using a glue and water mixture to saturate the napkin on the freezer paper. When its dry, the lighter parts of the napkin become translucent if not transparent. Cheers!
This also works great on one of those big plastic table cloths or thick plastic bags. If you have an outdoor space, this is fun to do in summer. I usually put the glue/water mix into a spray bottle, spray the plastic that I've layed out, put the napkins on top (tea bags and tissue paper work too), then spray again. On a hot day it takes 20 min to dry, and I can make multiple batches in one afternoon. Or you could do this before bed, and let dry overnight.

However, I suggest you use a well ventilated room, especially if you are doing very many at a time. I even set up a table on my deck so I can do these outside. I did a bunch one time and walked away very dizzy after inhaling the melted plastic. Your directions are great. Parchment paper really helps. Good job.
Thank you for your kind words! You make an excellent point! Yes, it is definitely best to work in a well ventilated area! I always open my window while crafting, especially when I use any kind of glue! 👍

You can also make templates with a clear plastic. That way you can see the pattern on the paper better being sure you have exactly what you want in its place. I do this technique for sewing as well ❤
