I skipped my High School graduation to see this show. Friday June 1st 1990 in St Louis. Never got my physical diploma. Well worth it.

To me this was the best Kiss lineup - that tour - that year - at their peak in terms of age and experience! And then followed Crazy Nights! 👍

My favorite member of KISS, period...ERIC CARR!!!!!. I remember when they would release those KISS magazines (shown at the beginning of this video) often here in Sydney. How times have changed for the worse. God bless Eric Carr. Bruce, you are an amazing Guitarist and such a gentleman. Hope to see you in AUS soon.

I've been a KISS fan since 1977, but that was my favorite live era. HITS isn't even in my top 10 albums, but that tour was one for the ages. The energy, fun, setlist, and no makeup was dead on.

@Bruce Kulick 1st comment here. You are a true inspiration. You were so nice the few times I met you.. then introduced you to my daughter when she was 5. Thank you for your contributions to music and KISS fans globally. I wish you the best always! - Rob

Grateful to have experienced this tour and one of Eric's last shows, October 27, 1990 in New Haven. It was an amazing time and it's so awesome to hear you speak about it and share your memories with us. Thank you Bruce, you are loved and appreciated by many.

Bruce, thank you for keeping his memory alive. We miss him, and you so much. I will never forget your kindness, killer note for note exactly like the studio guitar playing and being just 3 feet away from you at the 1995 Miami KISS Konvention at the Radisson Mart Plaza. I remember you wearing a black long sleeve sweater with a pattern in the middle of the chest that was like a guitar with wings! Now I might be wrong on the design on your chest, but at the time I was only 14.

On a side note, I had to leave early because of a family emergency, but I remember meeting Tommy Thayer as I was leaving asking why I was leaving midway. He was so kind and he thanked me for being one of the few that day that bought the KISSTORY Book, as well as being the youngest!

Totally awesome episode..I'm glad I got to experience this line up a few times live in concert in the mid- 1980's. I started loving KISS in 1980 at 8 years old. But I didn't see KISS till 1984 when I was 12. I have seen them 25 times since, my last show being in 2019.

I am currently working on some professional work with the producer of some great famous Canadian bands as we speak. You will all be my favorite guitarist for Kiss and in my top 3, wish I had a chance to jam with you man!!!

I had second row seats for the San Diego show. The night before I was in the back - upper level for the Long Beach Arena show. What I loved about that tour is that it worked amazingly well both ways. From the back, the show was the focus. From the front, you could see just how much the band was killing it! They were tight, energetic, and just on fire! I'm really glad I got to see both shows.

Thanks BK, that HITS tour was my first Kiss and concert ever. I saw you guys at the Long Beach Arena. It was an amazing night. The two things that are still very vivid in my mind are Eric’s drum solo and Leon the Sphinx going down and the Kiss sign or logo going up while you guys played “I want you “! Very memorable! I’ve seen and been to many concerts after that one, but I still think that that was the best by far!

I got to see the HITS tour twice that summer. First in Mansfield MA and then a week later in Albany NY. We were totally blown away by the show and especially the set list (can't beat opening with I Stole Your Love). Albany show was second row center. I'll never forget feeling the heat from the pyro. Eric's solo was beyond cool and I still have a Paul Stanley pick. You guys definitely gave it all you had and we appreciated it.

Bruce, thank you so much for doing these great videos. The HITS tour stop in Nashville was my first concert and you guys were flawless. The setlist was unreal and the chemistry between the four of you was unmatched. Thankfully, our show was one that had Eric's solo and I remember it being jaw-dropping. I'll never forget that night and thank you for the great music and memories!

Bruce, this show you're referring to was my VERY first concert, all the way back in the fall of 1990 at the now-defunct Palace of Auburn Hills. ("Detroit" as you put it, basically.) I went with my brother, this girl that was a friend of ours, and a buddy from my high school. I was all of 16-years-old, mullet and all. I remember from the opening moments of "I Stole Your Love" what an amazing show it was. Thanks for being so great at my first big rock show. Also, thanks for the interview you did with me on the website I used to write for, you were a class act!

My first concert was the hot in the shade tour. I'll have to check the date, but it was in Sioux City Iowa. I think Gene almost got pulled into the crowd, when they got ahold of his guitar cable, that show.
I thought the show was a great deal for the money. I had a great time, and thank you for the performance. I still have my Gene Simmons pick, there is another story about that, but I am out of time, and have to get some work done. Once again thanks.

Hi Bruce, unfortunately this is one of the few tours that I had missed. I distinctly remember driving back toward NYC from the Catskills and encountering bumper to bumper traffic for miles and miles and miles on Route 17. I thought there was a huge car crash to be creating that much traffic on that road but then as I got closer to Middletown I heard a news report that it was due to the KISS concert that I think was at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Middletown, New York. I was way more pissed that I didn't have a ticket then the hours of traffic I was sitting in, LOL. Great video, great album, and great tour!

Been kiss fan since 1975 when I was 4 yrs old and I remeber wanting to go to concert during Dynasty in 1979 and was told i was too young I was able in 1986 to go my first concert but that year Kiss was off and I was extremely upset but I made it to Crazy Nights and Hot in Shade and Revenge Tours and then Reunion and Psycho Circus and Farewell . Out of them all ( was very happy to experince orginal band and feel the power of Kiss) The best was Hot In Shade Tour , Eric Carr was a force and Peter had the respect and Eric Singer was good But he could not comand respect like Peter nor the power of Eric Carr , and band playing was tight . I am also sorry I can not see and have zero respect with current line up with Tommy and Eric , replacements are Fine , Bruce and Eric Carr were and they were fine but they were not Copies !
But my Kiss fandom didn't end cause of current line up , it ended cause I found out after seening and hearing a Ace Vid ( live from flordia Convention in 1994 Vid on TH-cam) of Kiss firing Eric Carr while he was fighting for his life . I was at StoneBallon in Newark De , when Paul did his solo tour 1988 and herd him say to us fans as Eric Singer was signing ort black sabbath stuff , that Eric Singer was going to be in Kiss and Eric Singer look embararssed and we were left shocked . Eric Singer told us that just someone little angry not to take it seriously and we felt he knew something but wow what happened years latter , I never fault Eric Singer But Paul i knew had issues with Eric Carr ok , But Gene why ? why Gene !

I saw this tour in Portland, Oregon at the Memorial Coliseum. I remember it was right after my birthday. Winger and Slaughter were excellent opening acts, I always really appreciated when you'd get two openers. Winger is tremendously underrated, everyone should check out their album Pull, I'm sure it's here on youtube.
Would love a video from you about how the opening acts were chosen and any memorable stories you might have of various openers throughout your time in KISS.
The HITS tour was KISS firing on all cylinders, it was a great show, everyone sounded and played fantastic. I enjoyed it more than the 1996 reunion tour (Stabbing Westward was the opener for me on that tour) and the Crazy Nights tour (where Anthrax was the opener for me). Given one tour, HITS was the one to catch from my experience. They were all great and massive fun, but HITS was the best.

I saw KISS in 88 for Crazy Night Tour, Gene, Paul, Bruce and Eric was incredible.
It's an another face of KISS without make-up, REVENGE Tour maybe the most beautiful show of KISS without make-up.
