- Celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the KISS LP, "Crazy Nights". September 1987, was the release of my second KISS LP. With this anniversary I share my story as the lead guitarist of KISS. See pictures from my personal collection during my KISS years, and see how the record was created with hit producer Ron Nevison. I share my memories of the three videos we released in support of the singles from Crazy Nights, as well as my experiences during the year long World Tour.

Bruce kulick is such an underrated guitarist ,he definitely held his own in the 80s and 90s
Bruce was so good, and totally underappreciated. His work on the Unplugged album was unreal.

Bruce the better guitarist was also a much better bandmate and had a lot more contributions to songs because he was a much more active member. You Ace fans need to get a clue. Ace didn't do near as much as you fantasize that he did. He wrote a few great songs but for the most part he wasn't around when the greatest KISS songs were written. He just came in and played the solos, and didn't even play on all the solos because HE WASN'T THERE
I've been a KISS fan since 1975. Bruce is easily the best lead guitarist of them all. Such a talent. Cheers!

@@gregsretromusicchannel7000 Ace is one of my main guitar influences and I love his style. Bruce is a much more talented player though, IMO. A fantastic combination of style, tone and technique. 👍
Bruce is the best guitar player technically. But Ace's dirty sound was perfect for Kiss, especially in the 70s era.

Bruce you added some brilliant playing during the heights of Kiss in their no makeup era. It was also a time of some amazing songs. But best of all Bruce you didn't play like a 'Fake Frehley'. When you did play the Kiss classics you added your sting to them without destroying the original DNA Ace put into the songs. Your work in Kiss was always outstanding. Crazy Nights was also a time when Pauls vocals were at his most mature. It was the peak of his singing career. So distant Vs what you hear on the bands final tour.

Thats a huge part of why he can't sing like that anymore, he really pushed his vocals to hit all those high notes for yrs and yrs. That and father time

This album has a special place in my heart. It was the first time I saw KISS live. At the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. I was already huge in the band, but seeing you all in person made me 100% a fan for life.

I was there for my best friends Bday . We had 2nd row DEAD CENTER and I payed a whopping $75 per ticket , which was a MOUNTAIN of money back then . Bruce threw me a gtr pick and I caught it lol

Reason to Live got me through many rough times. It has literally saved my life throughout my teens to my forty's. It's a powerful song that in many instances was the only thing to tell me that I did indeed have a Reason to Live. Bruce, I gotta say, and I'm sure I'm not alone, you are most definitely the best guitarist KISS ever had. Thank you! TLHolley

Crazy Nights was and still is one SOLID album ! I was 19 at the time and during the Summer of the album's release Bar's played Crazy Nights and Turn on the Night on a regular basis ! The dance floor would ALWAYS packed itself with BABES ! I mean jammed packed ! And we would all be part of it singing along the band '''' TURN ON THE NIGHT '''''
Best lineup Kiss ever had. So much so that Bruce should still be in the band.
Bruce was the best guitarists KISS ever had. Seriously. He had it together mentally, physically, and most importantly, musically. I've been a Kiss fan since 1976. Love the original lineup but Bruce doesn't get enough credit for his contributions to the band. Plus, he's not full of himself. That alone is worth it's weight in gold.
I absolutely love this album for Paul’s songs and the guitar work by Bruce. Paul was at the top of his game with his voice especially on I’ll Fight Hell To Hold You, My Way and Reason To Live. Definitely in my top 3 KISS albums.

Crazy Nights was always one of my favorites --a really underrated album. When I was 15, my uncle got it for me for Christmas and it was pure magic. I probably listened to that album straight through 50 times before Christmas break was up. Hoping to hear some of these songs on the Kruise next month.
I’m 28 now.. and grew up listening to the Original 4. At about 6 I got more into 80’s KISS with my dad’s suggestion of branching out from the early albums. I fell for it hard. Eric was the reason I started playing the drums.. I met my wife about 4 years ago. She didn’t like KISS until I showed her 80’s KISS. Reason to Live is our song. Your solo on it was so beautiful. Thank you for being a friend to Eric. He truly was a good man, and thank you for being such a class act. We love you Bruce. Once a KISS member, always a KISS member! 🤘🏻
Crazy, Crazy Nights was the very first KISS song I'd listen to back in 1989. Very good times. 🤘🤘
True story, the song Reason To Live kinda saved my life when I was a kid. Lost my girlfriend and had a death in my family and I was broken. This album but this song made a huge difference in my life. Every body’s got a dream and a hunger inside. Loved the song so much. Still do.

I saw that tour when I was 16 in Scererville,IN. I started as a KISS fan in 1980 when I was eight. I began seeing them live around "Animalize" in 1984 and then after that I never missed a tour. Every year in Chicago as well as Indiana and some Wisconsin shows too, but that show in 1987 was awesome on the "Crazy Nights" tour. It was a special time since "Reason To Live" was a major MTV hit video for several weeks,and held some kind of record. Though it was kind of a soft tune, it was a great song and I loved that video where that hot chick blew up Paul Stanley's Porsche. That was crazy. Hahaha.. I have loved KISS my whole life, every line up, every album. I loved your guitar playing Bruce. It holds a big place in my soul. You were a huge part of KISStory for many years between 1984 and 1994. I loved all of those albums too. I have been watching all of your You Tube site videos. I love them. You rule forever.
His guitar work in Kiss always lit up the tunes. You just gotta love this guy. Great job B.

This was my overall favorite era for Kiss.
I still remember hearing Crazy Crazy Nights for the first time on the radio and being blown away. Couldn't wait to buy the album and when I got it, it certainly didn't disappoint.
This album was my introduction to Kiss, Reason To Live on MTV. Forever one of my favorite Kiss albums! Great job Andrew Sgambati!

Crazy Nights is the album that really personified the non makeup era version of KISS! Absolutely love that album, front to back! The guitars and drums on this record are stellar! Love the video, Bruce!!
Dear Mr. Kulick, I had the privilege of witnessing your amazing abilities live on the 'Hot In The Shade Tour' (1990) and 'Revenge Tour' (1992) at the iconic Montreal Forum (ice hockey temple, home of the Canadiens). 'Crazy Nights' remains my all-time favourite KISS studio album and you are my favourite KISS guitarist. Your talents as a musician elevated KISS in the 1980s and 1990s to another musical plateau. Thank you for your many important contributions to KISSHistory between 1984 and 1998. P.S. I have a 'Crazy Nights' shrine in my music room.
I love how Bruce care so much about the material from his time in the band. I feel like Gene and Paul gloss over it sometimes and it is such strong material. I made a Kiss playlist on my Apple Music and I was surprised how many songs from his era made my playlist compared to songs from the 70s albums.

I LOVE KISS and Crazy Nights is probably the best unmasked era album. So many really great songs came from it and as a radio programmer (DJ) I play "Reason To Live", "Thief In The Night" and "Crazy Crazy Nights" often. "Reason To Live" seems to be popular among my listeners and I get a request for that one once a week at least.
Thanks for keeping this era of KISSTORY "Alive" with these great stories and videos, Bruce. Myself and your worldwide fans truly appreciate you. Stay awesome!

This is my favorite Kiss album, all the songs sounds like great anthems, the whole album is a celebration of music and good life, and the album contains the best guitar work of Bruce Kulick, i really love the Bruce Kulick era with Kiss and i believe that Bruce Kulick was the best guitar player in Kiss history, thanks Bruce for all these great memories.

My favorite Kiss era. I meet the band in the 80's vibe. And Bruce is the best Kiss guitar player ever!
👍I also consider the Kulcik-era to be the best. Probably because I got to know them with those records in the late 80s. Even in retrospect, I consider the best ones that were born in the 80s, plus the Revenge from '92. If I had been born earlier and had gotten to know Kiss' music in the 70s, maybe I would have liked those records more. Obviously nostalgia also plays a role in this opinion.

I remember my mom told me that there was a Kiss CD at a garage sale. This was like 1995 and I was 7. I'll be totally honest.... I was bummed out when I seen it was a no/make-up album lol. I loved kiss but I had only seen boot leg concerts from the 70s. But I listen to the CD anyway. It ended up being one of my favorites. It grew On me everyday and now I love that whole record. I even love the song turn on the night. I love this whole album and I love Bruce's playing on it 👊😎

Ace inspired me to pick up the guitar. You inspired me to be better. I loved the way that you used pieces of Ace's solos, but added your own flavor. I saw you live in my hometown and I was blown away by your playing. KISS needed you to bring stability to lead guitar and the writing. I had really dropped off listening to KISS, but your playing brought me back. Even Vinnie Vincent didn't do that for me.
