Fuggin beautiful work, bro!! Wasn't laughing at you, but WITH you (even though you weren't laughing) when you were checking the ohms on those speakers... haha, yikes. Lost your number like 3 flip phones ago... hope all's good down there! Late to the party here, really dig your channel, SO much dope info and know-how. Cheers!
Holy crap !!! This restoration is amazing !!! I just picked up a 2011 Marshall 1960A cab, with the G12T-75's in them and the front grill cloth has a single hole in it near the speaker edge. The speaker near the hole was not touched, luckily, and I was thinking of replacing the grill cloth with the same stuff you just used here. I've never replaced grill cloth before, so it is a little intimidating. Your video shows that a little patience goes a long way, as a friend of mine told me the grill cloth can be difficult to stretch properly and fit right. You did an incredibly great job and the finished cab looks super nice. Congrats on such great work !!!
The purpose of insulation is to make the speakers respond as if they are in a larger box with a larger air volume to compress. I doubt that this cab needed it, but that is the thought process.
I got a small upholstery tack puller from ace hardware that works pretty well. It's smaller than a pry bar, about the size of a screw driver. I order all of my parts directly from Marshall during their black friday sale when everything is 40% off. I guess Marshall and AES, Tubes and more, have ended their distribution agreement. Do you know if there are any US suppliers? I cant find 11 inch logos anywhere. Where are you getting your tolex from? Great video.
I was getting parts from AES but they haven’t allowed any Marshall sales this year. It’s pretty bad for sourcing anything Marshall in the U.S. right now.
@@purgasound Weird. I would have pegged the cabinet for a regular 4x12. Great video. I just wish you'd be using a respirator when sanding, the dust is really bad for lungs. I'm using a GVS Ellipse half-mask which is great but not beard-compatible.
@@boddumblues the Fullbacks sound great. I think they'd go well with a 12" speaker. I'm surprised they're not more common. Great midrange response. Nice and thick, top end and upper mids isn't harsh like a lot of popular speakers.
well done, you know LEMMY is smiling when a 4x15'' gets restored that nice.
Love these videos man. Keep up the hard work. Not a lot of people doing stuff like this anymore

Kickass video! Love watching these videos.
Oh by the way… you look like Jim Morrison big time.
Man, when that second speaker turned out to be 16 ohms I felt your pain. Whoever reconed that was just careless. That shit sucks.
man, i always enjoy these videos, keep it up good work. that US bastards jam at the end was a great finale
Nice work!
It really is a joy to watch you restore this battered road weary equipment. Thank you for sharing your talents. 🤘👊🤟
Great work man! Respect.
Tight work, Like the outro!
Great restoration. Played bass through one of these 415s for a while and they are monsters. Makes total sense to move cabs with a dolly.

Congrats on such great work !!!
I did a similar thing with a Marshall 4-12 cabinet, painted it with black rhino liner and replace all the plastic bits with new parts. Looks new.
killer work🤘
Beautiful
Awesome job Brent! Keep up the great work.
Nice work! The end result looks almost factory fresh.
Gotta love period correct staples !!
HELL YAH DUDE! KILLER W0RK AND JAM!

Very cool!
I have a 1972 4x15 A.
nice track in end, is there a full?
Bitchin vintage cab man!
Kickass. Is this one staying in your collection?

Could you please post the dimensions of this cab...I have been wanting to build one....
How tall are you? It looks so small, considering.
8:00 I find that a Japanese dogyu style nail puller really makes a difference for this kind of job.
@@Cancun771 I'm 6 ft, maybe an inch more with boots on

Its almost Matchless-like for the speakers, lol... but cool find even if not 100%
What are your thoughts on the Fullbacks? I'd love to try them, even mixed with 2 12" greenbacks. Very cool restoration job - Kudos!

Yeah. Mic bites on the cloth.
