I live in Tennessee and the only place you’re gonna get authentic Mexican food is definitely the taco trucks. They’re ran by actual Mexicans 😂
As well as some small shops that are also ran by them as well. Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had.
Yup here in California stands and taco trucks get more customers than those Mexican run restaurants.

Nashville has a huge area of traditional Mexican food but no where near downtown. I’ve had some of the best tacos at traditional places there. The Mexican community is quite large.
I'm from North Carolina, it's crazy how anyone could think there's no Mexican communities / authentic food in the South! It's close to Mexico, too! This was a gringo spot and those exist, too, but you can definitely find authentic Mexico food and taco stands in the South.

I’m kind of surprised that authentic Mexican food is so difficult to come by in Nashville. There are so many Mexicans living everywhere in the US these days that you would think there would be some there. I live in KC and there’s plenty of it here. And more coming all the time. That’s not just coming from some gringo that doesn’t know any better either. I lived five minutes away from Tijuana for several years so I’ve had plenty of the real thing.
We just moved to East Nashville and we love your reviews. A lot of the restaurants we've tried since we moved here are based on your reviews. Thank you so much!

I live in Tennessee Knoxville but the place I went to was called tequila amigos mexican grill. I had the El Molchajete it’s served up in a big steaming hot lava bowl. It taste amazing just be cautious if you go cause the bowl can be very hot. I also would love for authentic Mexican food always curious about other cultures.

I’m more than a few years older than you and can remember when we didn’t even have so much as a Taco Bell within 200 miles of our family’s hometown in Mississippi, much less an authentic Mexican restaurant. There were no Italian, Greek, or Chinese restaurants either. It was pretty much greasy spoon diners or Coleman’s barbecue, lol. Hell, we used to have to drive 45 miles to get McDonald’s, lol!
We used to bring Mexican, Italian, Chinese and Greek food items from Chicago for our families that lived in the south. They loved trying “things from up North”.
Now we have restaurants that sell these types of food, but honestly the food trucks in the larger surrounding cities that have come around are the only authentic food you will get.
In Nashville, the best Mexican food is all along Nolensville Pike. That whole area has become a Latino community. All authentic and mostly Spanish speaking.
One thing that keeps me in Southern California is that I can drive a few blocks and find a little taco stand on a corner and get that freshly sliced pastor with some pineapple and a horchata, I don’t think I could live without it.

Come to my state South Carolina. In Walterboro, South Carolina try the restauraunt El Pueblo. It’s authentic Mexican food and all Mexican ran business and the food is absolutely amazing! Love the vids!
Can def find amazing authentic mexican spots in the south im in ga and theres many all over you just really have to research to find the best. Especially the ones with amazing mexican chefs
Good review and confirmation of meh Mexican food in the south. I'm tired of all the food reviews on the Tube where "oh everything is fire". Just came back from Tucson - now that's where you're gonna find some great tamales.
I wonder if the double tortilla was to use one eat ur taco and what falls out goes into the other one and it makes another taco.. but they needed to Amp up the amount of meat I'm order for that to work 😆

La cerveza dos perros es artesanal... Mi padre y yo queremos hacer cerveza artesanal, y yo como buena mexicana a simple vista a los tacos les diera 3/10.. tamales 2/10 elote 9/10 cervezas 10/10 y como diria Dorothy theres no place like home 😅 saludos y cuidense siempre.
I would still eat it, it looks really good. Mexican food is made differently depending on your state in mexico so I always thought that it's the same in the us so imo that's what makes it more interesting, people adding their own twist.
Mexican food in California is extremely good but...well that's the only state I visit.. maybe someday I'll visit the others
