    At 0:53 when the car, the owl and the music all come together at the turn...well that is about the best accidental moment of any car review, anywhere, anytime.

    /DRIVE is something I feel connected with, but when some new guy suddenly appears like this that throws me off. Please, if you will use some new people, introduce them first. Humans generally dont like sudden changes. Constructive critisism for the review: Not so informative, not so engaging, nothing new or very different from other channels reviews on the car. If this is supposed to be the guy we will see with the new cars from now on, he needs to differenciate himself more.

    My boss was looking at Porsche's a little while back. I suggested this car to him and he literally just laughed and said "A Cayman isn't a real Porsche." His loss I guess.

    • @HesteBremse
      @HesteBremse 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Roy Diedesch Well there are still people around who are slow for change of mind - sometimes good reasons and other times for bad reasons.Your boss has apparently stayed in the former perception of the Cayman since not many people do doubt the sport and engagement qualities of the latest generation of Cayman and Boxters. If one looks at the broad spectrum of reviews on the new Cayman - A car will seldom get so many positive reviews as the the Cayman in various versions and in particular the GT4. I have seen others snobbishly degrading the Cayman as a car you choose when you can not afford a 911 - This is also related to the old perception, thus neglecting that the 991 Series has gotten far more "GT" elements to it with more luxury etc. - Understanding what a real sportscar should be is unfortunately often replaced by people who entirely looks at the Ego and prestige factor or on the Power Factor rather than what is real driving joy. Most current super sportscars now hard to utilizes in a fun way on normal roads - They are simply so fast that the area and peak enjoyment spot of sporty engagement is hard to reach without risking a lot of things. Smaller sportscars are often far more fun as daily drivers since their enjoyment driving spot appear much earlier in the speed range - so you get more engagement and the feeling of thrill more often. The Cayman is one of those cars that can bring this joy to the road or with the GT4 to nearly any drivers situation. Sure if you go for 911´s of GT3, GT3 RS or R - yes you will get even more rush, but if you take e.g a Targa you will get less involvement and more leisure. So your Boss is not up to date on the Cayman or he might not know what real driving satisfaction is about. If one took the GT3 Engine and put it into the Cayman + a manual box, then one would most likely have one of the most exciting sportscars ever made.

    Drive can't win, for now. TH-cam drops the funding, but the Internet's wants to video. So Drive+ was created. The internet cried. Now Drive is doing great free content again, but that makes the sell-outs because they found someone to back the expenses.

    Inevitable upgrade :
    A 7800rpm redline in a GT4 "Racecar" w/flat6 means that the owner will want to build+remap that detuned Carrera 3.8 engine back up to snuff. Should be getting more like 450+hp from that engine.

      +Jason Holtkamp This is better than any 911 within $50k. It's a 911 engine in the correct place, GT3 front suspension and a proper manual gearbox. I'd take this over a 4, 4S any day, everyday and twice on Sunday. I'd still have a hard time justifying paying the premium on a 911 GT3 or turbo, that money would be better spent slapping a turbo on this thing and with a bunch of $$$ left over- enough for a pile of coke and 10 hookers.

    Tired of all these reviews for a car that was sold out before the launch date, just so dealers could mark up "pre-owned" GT4s by 30-40%. It was a great car for MSRP, not for $140k USD.

    So skip the $4,000 for the carbon fiber track-appropriate seats, for just exactly what you are shooting this video for - yet save money to have the same seats you'd find in a 1995 Cayman? Gimme a break. Any GT4 outfitted without the carbon fiber seats will be worth FAR LESS in the long run.

    You cannot buy these cars for $90,000 USED even today. Good luck with that. The GT4 is an instant collectible and whether or not they make the 718 (oh boy, a whole additional 20-25 hp more), it will always be the second modification of this car - thus making the first even more collectible imo. Maybe they won't find a baby to test drive it and complain about "confining racing seats" on a RACE TRACK! Every single racing car seat, worth its salt, is confining for a reason - it is to keep you from moving around which adds safety. You cannot be moving around all over the cockpit, bouncing around in your seat as you take a turn at over 1.2 G's. It will put you into a wall, embankment or other hazard - or die. Get used to the $5000 seats, they can save your life on a track.

      As a German I can assure you he is pronouncing it correctly! The 'e' at the end of Porsche is NOT silent. Calling it 'porsh' would be like calling Toyota a 'toyot'

    Just another waste of time review with more focus on camera angles, music and superlatives than actually reviewing the car... Matt Farah is simply on a different level totally when it comes to reviewing when it comes to relevancy.
    If he thinks this is "purer than a Morman high school." and difficult to get in and out of, put this guy in e.g. an Ariel Atom or Radical of any sort or even a Lotus Exige Sport 350 and I guarantee you he will be speechless, not will he come out of it once he is in for all obvious reasons.
