Shingeki no Kyojin is the name of the show in Japanese, as well as the name is Erens Titan. So that was one of those "here's the name of the show" moments.
The English title has "on" in it because the Japanese title can be interpreted in a few different ways.

You noticed the Attack Titan - Attack on Titan connection, but it's even more evident in Japanese
The Attack Titan is the "Shingeki no Kyojin", which is word for word the name of the anime
even the title of the show have a plot twist

This was a fantastic reaction. I just love how hard you are trying to piece everything together and how invested you are now. And how slowly but surely the realization is setting in of just how well this story is structured. There are so many details and earlier questions that start to make sense now.

Singeki no kyojin it’s the original name of the serie and this name is the same for the attack titan. They rework it in English

This episode proved that “attack on titan” is just a mistranslation. The name of the show is “Shingeki no Kyojin”, the same name as the Attack Titan in japanese. So in reality the show should just be titled “Attack Titan”.
Idk, Attack Titan is an even worse name in English, and I think what we got was the closest English speakers could have possibly gotten to getting to experience the title drop in this episode the same way Japanese speakers did
attack of titan(s) attacking the wall? attack on titan at the end of season 4? attack titan the name of 1 of the 9... My understanding of the 'no' is possessive, it can link the 2 together into "attack titan" and at the same time can be "titan's attack" or "attack of titan". I think it was ambiguous on purpose. The concept of that matches the ambiguity of the situation you find yourself in at any specific point of the story. I don't think it's a mistranslation at all.
It could have just been called Attack of the Titans. Or stick an exclamation point at the end, "Attack Titan!" - Anime titles are allowed to be a bit weird anyway

"Attack on Titan". "The Attack Titan". Funny you saw a link there yourself. Both of these are translations of Shingeki no Kyogin. However, the phrase "The Attack Titan" didn't make sense to the translators, so they went with the alternate translatation of "Attack on Titan" assuming it to be the correct translation. "The Attack Titan" is what the show is meant to be called. To be fair, I think Attack on Titan is more attention grabbing so I feel it worked out well.
When I first watched this show I thought "Alright so where's this place Titan? Do they mean one of the moons of Saturn? How crazy is this show gonna get?" - I was not ready

@@kriegnes I agree he likes the show, but there was something dispassionate about this episode, like his mind was on something else while still trying to follow and like the show. No intro or outro, and even the thumbnail title is generic (usually there's a comment in the titles too).

So like, there are some things that I think you might have missed in this episode, which I wanna briefly talk about, as they are not spoiler any-more:
1. Zeke (the monkey titan guy - the beast titan) is Grisha's son - thus, Eren's brother. Which explains what Zeke said when he met Eren: "I'm gonna rescue you."
2. Grisha already stole the founding titan, when slaughtering and eating the Reiss family.
3. Dina, Grisha's ex-wife, is the titan that's eaten Eren's mom.
4. Dina being of royal blood, when Eren touched her, he could activate his founding titan's powers. Because basically, he's got the founding titan, through Grisha's titan whose eaten the founding titan from the Reiss family. However, because neither Eren nor Grisha are of royal blood, they can't use the full potential of the founding titan, thus they are just Attack titan. However, as seen in the second season when Eren touched, screamed, and than manipulated titans into eating Dina and getting on Reiner and Bertholdt, Eren touching someone with the royal blood (in this case Dina), can activate the power of founding titan. As Dina is of royal blood, but does not have the founding titan, but instead Eren has it. Does that make sense?
5. Also "Attack on Titan" is just a mistranslation of "Attack Titan" from Japanese - so yeah, Attack Titan or "Shingeki no Kyojin" was always the title of the manga.
I have to say - I was here from the beginning, and I am going to be here at the very end. Thank you JD for this reactions - they probably might have be my favourites! This part/arc of Attack on Titan was my favourite, and I gotta just warn you - last season will be 10x more informative than last seasons, there would be new characters, big revelations, big plot-twists, answered foreshadowings, but mainly and most warningly - it will be the darkest season in the whole story. You should probably get your anime and movie stereotypes off of your mind, because there would be so many unexpected and dark/sad things happening that your mind will explode. I'm not joking, the last season will not only blow your mind, it will also probably blow your nose too, as there would be quite a lot of potential tearing up. Before reading the last season (manga), I've seen a lot of these warnings similar to the one that I'm writing right now, but I still did not expect the things that happened. So expect the unexpected - and yeah, it's probably impossible and you'll still be shocked, cuz the moments of S4 cannot be described in words. So all I'm gonna further say is just: Thank You for your reactions, and be prepared, cause from now on, it's gonna be a roller-coaster (not that it already wasn't, but it will be multiplied the roller-coaster that the first three seasons were)!
