Only been recording weather for 160 years and probably only the last 60 has actually been accurate .
"Since records began" basically means "in the last century". We know that in medieval times, grapes were grown in England as far north as London, and the traces of that still exist in street names. So basically, it needs to get a few degrees warmer on average before we catch up to how warm it used to be hundreds of years in the past, before the industrial revolution.

Why don't they protect outside 10 Downing st, or outside oil refineries and coal mines? Go and protest at the source of the issue! These are the places where they need to be, not slow walking down roads in rush hour and giving many, many people so much grief . Yes I watched a documentary last night. The data shows that the planet has warmed and cooled much more in the past pre industrialization. It seems to be more linked to the activity and hotspots on the sun then anything humans are doing.
Human activity is certainly bad for the planet in terms of plastic waste in the oceans but the current global warming debate is blatantly ignoring facts and history.

Wind farms won’t work because not only are they weather dependent, construction, maintenance and recycling costs outweigh the benefits……unless, that is, everyone is prepared to accept a lower standard of living in order to - as it were - ‘ save the planet. Also, if only Britain were to ‘stop oil’ which, by the way is necessary for the satisfactory operation of the mechanism in a wind turbine - how would we compete, effectively with the rest of the world who won’t stop oil production? Sonar panels? In Britain? Again, weather dependent, and forgot to mention wind turbines cannot safely be used in gale-force winds. In a perfect climate, I might agree this ‘green energy’ might just work. Mind you, whilst its merits are many, geothermal energy on a grand scale in Britain is yet only a pipe dream. For any form of green energy to work the infrastructure must be put into place: it requires, the will of the people, the backing of the government and the support of industry and not least, investors. 1- Do you agree the worlds atmosphere is one and it mixes and changes globally?
2- do you agree that CO2 emissions around the world affect everyone in the world?

I really have a problem in witnessing apparently very old pensioners running in front of vehicles and across Wimbledon Courts where they endanger themselves and others. I am 82 years old and fortunately still almost 100% with us, but some of these old people should be at home and not used and encouraged by these lunatics to do their protesting!

I'm 71 and can't believe how many people around my age seem to be senile.
I'm in my seventies and like you fortunately still physically and mentally fine obviously I'm going to die one day that's what happens to everything that is born. But I'm not afraid of being dead because I won't know I'm dead because I will not be conscious of anything, that pretty much comes as standard when you're dead. What I am afraid of is becoming physically or mentally feeble like some of these silly old sods desperately trying to gain one last bit of attention before shuffling off to their care home
