"Just Keep Locking Them Up" - Just Stop Oil Costs UK Police Over £20 Million

The Metropolitan Police in London is urging climate activist group Just Stop Oil to cooperate with them after revealing that policing the group's protests has cost taxpayers nearly £20 million.
The police force reported that around 300 officers per day were being taken away from frontline work to handle the disruptions caused by the group. Just Stop Oil has been blocking roads and disrupting events as part of their demonstration against the use of fossil fuels. The police argue that while the group has the right to protest, they should not indiscriminately disrupt the lives of Londoners.
