Hey, I've made one of those! I took a fully manual seat from a volvo s70 or v70, made a little plywood frame and bolted it up to a rolling chair frame. Unfortunately the way I set it up, the front and rear height adjustments don't work, but the lean angle and lumbar adjustments do work! The car seat cost $38 at a junkyard, its leather is in better condition that my car's seat! The downside is its pretty tall, and my plywood adapter broke, gonna need to make one out of metal. Other than that, its a pretty awesome chair for less than $100.
I've always been thinking that Volvo seats can make a great base for comfortable office chairs. The height can often be an issue but it needs to be addressed one way or another. It's possible to mount the seat low to the ground on a proper base but it's also possible to add a footrest for great comfort any possibly a sporty position. That's what we added to the Maserati office chair. Good job on your side!
@@ramaSwamp They are really tall if you put it on top of an already existing chair frame. If I do it again, i’ll make my own frame and put swivel wheels on the bottom.
@@Daschickenify Yeah but the problem is, I don't wanna be making the entire fucking thing from scratch cause I don't have a welder, or metal cutters and stuff.
Thanks for sharing your observation and feelings about this topic! That is what we care about the most in fact, so there's a double thank you to you. We want everything about Power Seats to be exciting, the website too. We may actually do what you suggest since you're not the only person who mentions this over time. So thank you very much for taking your time and letting us know here, because this contributes to changes. When you see the change implemented and prices online, know that it's also thanks to you. Cheers!
I have a very comfy saab 900c seat lying aroubd which I'm planning on turning into an office chair. It has manual controls but it doesnt matter. At least it's more reliable. It is heated so I was thinking to maybe make the heater work, lol
In case of heating, the battery may drain pretty quickly (if you're planning on using a battery in the first place). Some seats have a switch on their side and it's good the check if yours does, otherwise you've got to think how to turn the heating on and off. Usually it's controlled from car's dashboard with some separate button/switch. Good luck assembling your office chair!
@@VToldsMotoShow I'm from Bulgaria and my uncle is from your country Poland, and I'm thinking if I can advertise your seats properly, maybe I'll me able to sell some of them in my country
We build our own controllers. It's all individual work with them. I believe it might be possible to use Arduino too but I'm not sure if they may be advanced enough. Cheers!
You may really not even need a wiring diagram, if you'd like to connect yourself to Audi's original controller/controllers and program them. If you're not an electronics tech, I would not count too much on being able to safely use the original Audi seat's switches. The seat needs to know when to stop working in order not to damage the engines while overloading them (for example too much weight and too little battery power - if you've got a battery) and also when to stop moving at the extreme positions not to go too far and break anything. If you are not able to do it, there's a way of directly connecting engines' powering wires to some source of electricity like a car battery charger or other chargers. This is rather a temporary solution but can work, if you only need to adjust the seat once or just from time to time. But you won't be able to use the switches this way and will have no control over the correctness of the way the seat works. But it should work, at least for some time and if you're careful enough. If you decide that you need a wiring diagram, I'd contact Audi dealership or some garage that specializes in working on Audis - if you're nice enough, they may share that with you. Cheers!
I believe that all of the seats need the car computer to be activated. That's in the car, not within the seat, so makes things more demanding. But you may connect single engines and operate them using an external battery. That should be doable.
Right, Joshua, thank you for the feedback. I have recieved similar requests, even very recently and promised to change that on the website. Now indeed we are working on it along with a few other changes there. As for a price list, firstly, the Maserati GranTurismo office chair and the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe are the office chairs that we have in stock and that are priced at 5600 euro (6300 USD) and 9300 euro (10500 USD) accordingly. Secondly, we focus on custom orders and to get a precise quote in case of an another base seat turned into an office chair, we need to have the seat (car/version/model year) specified. I really appreciate your input and we will update the website really soon to improve it.
+imthatmvrk Rozumiem. Ogólnie rzecz biorąc oczywiście jest to technicznie do zrobienia, pytanie jak takie zlecenie wycenić :). Nie jest to już takie jasne, bo odbiega od obecnego stylu.
That looks amazing. Will definitely buy one when I wear out my current office chair

Isn't it too high from the ground? I did the same and cat put my feet on the floor when sitting.

Would be great for driving simulator by removing tires on chair
Do the chairs have heating and cooling mode? Also do they work with a battery or I need to plug it in to an outlet? Thanks!
There's a battery that usually lasts weeks. Needs to be recharged from a power socket after that. Heating and cooling is not being added to these.
i want the Pagani Zonda seat
Sure, any time. That would be really unique too. No too comfy but definitely fun to look at.
They look nice, but please list some prices on the website at least, it is annoying to see an order form without a price.

Cool idea! Looks comfy but I don’t think I could drop $6200 on a chair I could buy a nice puddle jumper for that price
hello, are you still making these stuff
Hello, yes, and here's the newest and coolest one: powerseats.eu/products/luxury-line - it's called 7G11 and comes with 18-way electric adjustment.
