Great video. My wife and I are huge fans of Pandemic but I really like the fantasy setting games. This is now on my list of games that I have to have. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for this review, this game looks awesome! I'm definitely going to pick this up. I'm a big fan of games that can be played solo since I no longer have a regular gaming group and this looks like it's going to be my next adventure.

Man that setup time was a killer. Almost feel like grabbing those tiles and just tossing them on the board instead of rolling
yeah it's a real shame the didn't have a more consistent numbering scheme on the board...
20:15 I believe the player who discovers the witch gets a potion for free right away. Other than that great review Rahdo :)
Just one mistake. Skralls always move before trolls (even if their space number is higher). So the skrall in space 48 should have moved before the troll in space 36 (around 23 mins).

Two thoughts so far.. Still learning this game and I have feeling that Czech and English rules differ a little, but I checked English ones as well and I'm almost sure that:
1. On the beginning of a new day, when enemy moved to Jen's space, her farmer should have died.
2. When you found a witch, you should have received a potion instantly.
By the way.. thanks for the videos. You can't imagine how helpful they are, both for buying and mastering the rules.
yes, farm dies immediately when an enemy moves into its space! did i goof that up in the vid? if so, can you tell at roughly what time stamp that was?
also correct about the witch. oops, l those are 2 big goofs. again, if you can give me a rough time stamp for when that happened, i'll add notes :)

Was not impressed with this when I first saw it reviewed elsewhere, but I've come to realize that I had unrealistic expectations about what kind of game it was. In addition, the gaming tastes of my wife and I have changed and now this looks quite nice! Now to find a copy here in the hinterlands of The Great White North. ;)
22:40 Is that so? I have learned that there can be 3 creaturea (with 2 players) and once a 4th enters you lose.
got bit of dizzyness with the cam movement , dont really have this problem with your newer videos though.
I hope the next part will come soon. The board is one of the best I've seen and I like the forced movement rules for the monsters.
I think at around 19:00, Richard moves Jen's (green) marker on the time line instead of his (yellow), putting her unfairly ahead by an hour. That means that Jen would have been able to get to the farmer on her turn without going into overtime, and didn't need to end her day one short. Is that correct?

Around 27:48, when you and Jen both enter overtime fighting the monster, you lost two will power, and Jen lost one. Is there a reason she lost only one vs two? We are finally bringing this game off the shelf, and i wanted to double check on this before playing and learning incorrectly.
it was a goof... she should also lose 2 health... sorry for the delay this got buried and just now came to the surface again :\

if you control multiple characters (like how i played here) but there's no "one hero only" mode
A question about the rewards you get for beating that monster. Underneath it it shows 2 willpower and or 2 money, doesn't that mean you can devide 2 money and two willpower amongst the two of you. And if you fight alone do you get 2 will and two money?
In our rulebook it says 2 willpower or 2 gold coins, or one of each. So if you fight alone you get two things, which two you decide. If you fight together you split the loot. :)
Can someone help out here, when you battle in team, are the dice if each player added together? The dutch rules indicate that you have to chose one of them. Translation isnt always great though. Anyone with original german rules?

The sentence is very vague indeed, but after some rereading I figured it out. :) You choose each individual's highest die, and then add them. It was pretty much impossible to beat otherwise, as you pointed out :)
Around 18 mins you were moving between the yellow and green time markers. Got kinda confusing :x

At 19:10, you say "increases their will power by 10". Which would mean your will power would increase to 17, not 10, right? Unless it actually said "to 10"?
The card reads "increases his power TO 10" Richard misread it :p
I love the way cardboard minis can replace just as effectively plastic minis. I think I like it more. But the way this game plays is not my taste.
Im loving this, and the art is great, but I do wish they went with figures instead of cardboard :
It does make it way too expensive if all the players and monsters were figurines. This game is also fit for casual gamers who would never pick it up if the price was much higher. I certainly wouldn't.

no prob, i should have maybe stressed that point more strongly in the video. basically, you get a certain number of chapters to determine whether the story ends is triumph or tragedy. the end of a day signals a new chapter, as does the end of a fight :)
Tried to watch this but after 7 minutes i got motion sickness from the constant swinging of the camera around. Perhaps Rahdo you can get a video stand or something so it focus just on the game board?

Why did they place the numbers so randomly on the board? To make finding them a boring challenge each time?
They sort of follow a spiral pattern, but they are not quite regular enough for it to be predictable. :(
How good is it for 2 players?

Wizard only has one dice. If you upgrade your willpower does it give u anything else between different rows? Or still same dice that you can turn over...?

We just played the first time and the wizard beat the baddies a lot faster than the warrior did because the wizard upped their strength every chance they got.

the first 200 or so games i covered didn't have static camera options, the next thousand have. so you're unfortunately looking at one of those first 200 here :)
At 29:10 in my opinion you've done 26 points of damage... not 18. Maybe the Dutch rules are different? (5 + (2 + 6)) + (5 + (6 +2)) = 26 ... btw I like your video's!
He did it correctly... the way you are doing it you are adding up the strength of the fighters twice and that makes no sense... it would make every fight were 2 or 3 characters participate very uneven and almost impossible to lose!

Before you bring this to a friend's house should you set it up and "play" a fake game?
i would think so. the first mission of the game is a sort of odd "step by step" tutorial, so in theory you'd be fine, but i'd recommend it anyway :)

Every time you kill one monster the day track advances a day?! That is dumb as hell. It takes a whole day to kill a monster with 4 hit points? That's just weird.
it's not one day, it's one "chapter" in the overall story of the game
A fight takes one hour of a day, and the monster advances the story because otherwise there's be no tension/
This could work as an ATTACK on TITAN board game

u played this totally wrong, first u counted wrong on the hour line then u counted wrong on ur steps on the map and if someone goes into the castle the day is over for the whole team

Dont get me wrong. Its not you, your review was great. And the game looks beautilful. But even Monopoly is deeper than this.

Andor is definitely not for everyone but it is very strategic. If anything that is usually the complaint--it's too much a dry, thinky-puzzle and not enough a fun, thematic fantasy dice-roller. Most of the time the theme can kind of blend into the background a little bit and it becomes very much an action-management game ala something like Pandemic. The game isn't about confronting and defeating monsters--you can ALWAYS do that. It's about managing the legend track as you balance defending the castle with having enough time to complete the objective. I've never lost this game any other way but running out of time on the legend track.
Not saying it's good or bad--that's going to depend on your taste. But it's certainly more thinky than most of it's fantasy-hero compatriots. And WAY deeper than anything like Monopoly, Risk, etc.
Everything is way deeper than Monopoly (except perhaps Snakes and Ladders).
Risk, I dont know. I think Risk is more strategic than this game. It presents the player with many options to choose what to do (that is the definition of a good strategy game). Legends of Andor does not present a variety of choices. There is only one basic choice = defend the castle or go for the bonuses ? So you balance on this question only. Good strategy games have many questions to balance, not just one.

WOW..... Tried to follow this, but you talk like a jazzed up machine gun, could not understand half of what you said, which is a shame as I was looking forward to this play through.
My apologies if you really are just slow but I follow what he's saying just fine. Perhaps you should use the TH-cam speed adjustment feature to match your comprehension ability.
