All of the Marvels is an excellent book! Douglas Wolk was my history of comics and graphic novels professor in college and he was in the process of writing it when I took his class. Easily my favorite class in college and one of the best professors I had. He didn’t sugar coat any of the troubling history, is super against the gatekeeping culture around comics, and was really encouraging of his students to bring their interests to class and incorporate it into the material. I really wish I could’ve taken it a second time.
