This is the first time Ive seen a speed run like this. The whole pause/load/menu thing and the timer stopping seems a little BS's and abusive. Doesnt seem like a record of anything at all. Who makes up these rules?
unfortunately, tlou is a very small speedrunning community, somebody finds a way to abuse the timing method and if nobody does anything to restrict it, people jump onto it..
I mean Naughty Dog made the timer It's not that it's cheating or anything like that it's just that it's literally the fastest way to do the run. You could absolutely run the game without doing that but you'll be losing time. Also in the PS4 version you have to do it at points or you risk the game breaking
@@Morgan_2317 its literally not the fastest way of doing the run, its the "fastest" way in terms of how naughty dogs timer works (which was even broken before the big patch), all the spamming checking the save file can be pushed so hard that you get an additional hour onto your real time, just so the speedrun timer is low. we literally arent even forced to use that timer to do runs, only to be able to submit them to the boards. on ps4 you dont do the save file checking, you do regular restart checkpoints which arent the problem.
