Rein is genuinely a great role model. He learns from his mistakes, he cares more for the people around him than himself, and most of all, he is kind until he can’t be All of which he learned from Balderich, ofc. Another character that I absolutely love. The crusaders were written very well for the short screentime they had
Hearing the supposed leak that Reinhardt was going to die in the story mode that we didn't get... on one hand I didn't want to believe it... but on the other hand, I could see how they were setting it up in the three missions we got. Playing through the 3 missions with him or as him, hearing his interactions, as well as the cutscenes with him, he loves being on the front lines, and wanting to feel useful. He's so impatient when they're trying to figure out what Null Sector is up to, and how they can remove the strange devices being attached to Omnics' heads, having to be stopped when he tries simply ripping it off one's head. Also the strange... Omnic prejudice he has, not toward Bastion, but the regular Omnics who are just civilians, saying they're simple machines that they could just... load a backup of their personality from a computer or something. Granted I'm sure it's more out of ignorance than any actual hatred for Omnics, but it feels so off coming from Reinhardt of all characters, and not someone like Zarya. Something that isn't brought up often is how Reinhardt was born a Crusader and warrior... but when Overwatch kicked him out, what kind of life could he live? He was meant for battle... he couldn't just retire in peace, he's not about that life. He needs to be on the front lines, and the only worthy death is dying in battle. I imagine at some point he would've sacrificed himself in a similar manner to his master, and passing the torch to Brigitte, his Squire.
I always imagined Reinhardt dying one day the same way Balderich did: Sacrificing himself for the life of many others, maybe even thousands or millions of people. I imagined a situation where a place had to be blown up, but the person setting it off would not have the time to get out, and him volunteering for it. Maybe even revealing to the others that he had a fear of getting dementia or something similar in his old age and deciding that would absolutely NOT be the way he'd go.
I imagine reins death would have been similar to balderichs. Now let me explain: As it is mentioned, rein serves as the mentor to the youngsters and i can imagine dva reminding him an awful lot of his young self. Back In OW1 she had a lot of voicelines about getting the most kills, APM, etc. which reminded Reinhardt of his own need for glory when he was younger. So he specifically focused on her, trying to teach her that as a frontline-soldier their top priority has to be protecting the team. dva however (despite respecting him as her senior officer) brushed his lessons of as nonsensical mumbling of an old man. Even after reinhardt told her about the battle of eichenwalde (specifically balderichs sacrifice) she had no change of heart. Come their mission together: dva once again started chasing personal glory, which got her mech destroyed. As a consequence Reinhardt was forced to sacrifice himself so he could save her. After his death dva realizes rein was trying to stop her from repeating his mistakes and swears the crusaders oath. Before anyone says anything: This is nothing official, just an idea of mine.
I started my Overwatch journey as a Reaper main until i played Rein, his gameplay, his interactions, his charisma, i loved everything about him the moment i started playing him, then his short dropped and i couldnt stop crying, i love this giant german teddy bear so much to the point i got a tattoo of him, he is on the top of my inspirations list and always will be there, thank you for this video ❤️ from one (full time) tank player to another, truly thank you
I really believe that (from reading the comics) Rein is going crazy due to repeated trauma, and Brig is there to both protect him from the world, but also protect the world from Rein. And Brig is trying to keep Rein's deteriorating mental state hidden from everyone else. Start reading the comics (especially Dragon Slayer) with that idea, and listening to their voice-lines, and you really start to see that.
Rien always was my favourite character, even when i just started playing i really liked him. He is really fun as a person and as a playable character. And i really appreciate that he seems simple gameplay and character wise, but in reality he is very deep. You know what they say, don't judge a book by its cover. To honor and glory, my friends! P.S. Your videos and chanel is VERY underrated, they deserve so much more!
Reinhardt's cinematic is still to this day the best one created by Blizzard. Saying that as a Genji and Hanzo main. I teared up a little bit when I first watched "Honour and Glory" and still catch feels when I watch it. The only things that are more tragic than a Reinhardt's past is current state of a game. Game's balance is so bad that Rein is bottom tier tank (Shimada bros are just in a Mariana trench at that point...)
Great Video dude your comentory makes ir very good with right source material and time line i hope you continue to make these i look forward to them. Peace out 😊😊😊😊

If they ever decide to get back to it they are gonna do that

HONOR! JUSTICE! REINHARDT! REINHARDT! REINHARDT!
HONOR! JUSTICE!- 🗣🔊Beer! 🍺 🔥
honour! justice! cum- yes!
Live with honour
Other people: playing heroes because of their abilities and play style.
My reason playing Rein: LORE
He was just a Warrior. Trapped forever in a cycle of endlessly honouring his duty.

Daam. i love reinhardt, like a average tank player, also like a lore enjoyer

11k views for this video is way too little the way you narrate these stories is amazing
saying hes an overwatch "2" character is a dishonour to rein
As a Rein main, nothing feels as good as saving your teammates with your shield.
Live with honor... And die with glory...

I WOULD KILL _(mauga)_ FOR A REINHARDT MOVIE.
I would love to see old rein dashing an drifting with a hammer, blitzing through enemies hammering away.
Do you want to see my muscles?
Great video!
0:52 "-in a time when the hypocratic oath had been downgraded to a hypocratic suggestion"
LIVE WITH HONOR DIE WITH GLORY
Balderich reminds me of my Father
Weak. Humanity is weak-

This makes me irrationally angry that Blizzard wrapped the campaign >:(
The last crusader and others died in the battle of Eichenwald?
Lady*
yep! Reinhardt was the only crusader to survive Eichenwalde
Who said Reinhardt was loathed?
