Interesting thing about the Julliard and Back Alley Brawlers is: That's how real life gangs form. Groups lacking protection forming up to defend themselves. Typically in ghettos and barrios. But to defend from other gangs you need money, which crime is an easy window to. Overtime protection gives way to money. The Back Alley Brawlers specifically are a good, realistic look at how many small gangs go.

A Keanu Reeves posergang is the perfect level of meta for cyberpunk. Plus running a crew with a netrunner who thinks he's Neo and a Merc who thinks he's John Wick sounds great.

Pirahna doesnt even seem like a gang, just an event hosting company xD.
You gotta remember Cyberpunk 2020 was released in 1990 and the first edition was in 1988. Back then, they were just a few years removed from Elvis Presley's passing, so the hysteria for The King and his legacy was fresh, it was a whole cultural Zeitgeist; elvis impersonators, memorials, conspiracies of faking his death, etc. A post-collapse cult/boostergang based on Elvis and his legacy would be "topical" back in the early 90s, nowadays they could be seen as a collective of people holding on to relics of the past to withstand the madness that was the birth of the Cyberpunk age.

In my game, I have a homebrew protection called the Morro Rippers. They’re a gang of skaters that grew up in South Night City and defend skate parks and skate spots from other gangs so local skaters can use them. They’re generally considered good people, but two of their members have substance abuse issues and try to fight innocent people when under the influence.
