- With the advent of the platform fighter renaissance, each new entry needs to grab your attention with superb gameplay and an iconic roster. And Multiversus... kind of fails at both. I wanted to do a hypothetical reboot from the beginning and turn it into a true celebration of Warner Bros. history!

A few quick edits:
1. I had to mute the audio when introducing Willy due to a copyright claim.
2. My editor made a light mistake towards the end; the numbers aren't supposed to be added together for final class representation, the second number marked "DLC" is the final number including base.

Daffy being left out of a Warner Bros crossover fighting game was nothing short of baffling.

I do like the idea of some of Ben 10's aliens being used as taunts, it'd be a good way of cramming as many aliens into him as possible.

Best idea I have is having a bunch of dittos clone argue and then revert back to Ben.
I wish we could do omniverse or UAF but classic is the most iconic so it would make the most sense to use him and his aliens.
Tbh making entirely new models just for taunts seems a bit wasteful, but idk. And maybe they'd be Legendary.
IDEA: Instead of Hermione, they should just include a “Hogwarts Student” as a slot, and make it where every one of that slot’s skins are a different character. Have Harry as the default, but have skins for Ron, Hermione, Draco, Neville, etc..

If Harry were to be his own fighter he would have a Cloak of Invisibility down special and I would give him the sword he had once for some of his normals. Also he would not have the same stance system as Hermione making Harry more of a Bruiser type fighter.

I think the Hogwarts Student having skins is a good Idea but instead of characters, they would be houses to represent a class. For example: Griffendor for Bruiser, Slytherin for Assassin, Ravenclaw for Mage, and Huffopuff for Support.
As an ex-Harry Potter fan, I think a taunt where Hermione makes Polyjuice Potion and accidentally turns her and whatever allies happen to be next to her into cats would be funny although Steven's probably gonna have PTSD flashbacks
That's really creative! I considered letting her make it in the kit but felt it would muddy an already complicated moveset.

I think the Animaniacs would make for a great hybrid fighter, where you can swap out between the three Warner siblings. Yakko would be an average all-arounder, Wakko would be a support that could eat projectiles, and Dot would be an aggressive tank.
I love the Animaniacs! I unfortunately couldn't think of a moveset I liked for them, though, so I wanted to throw them a bone with the Water Tower stage.

One thing I'd change is that Buttercup and Blossom should switch archetypes. Blossom is typically the smart one, being more technical, and Buttercup is the muscle.
They could easily use him and sedusa as KO effects as well
I'm saying this now. The simple fact that this Warner Bros. platform fighter didn't have one Animaniacs rep apart from an upcoming stage confuses the hell out of me. I mean, a Pokemon trainer style Yakko, Wakko and Dot with specialties for each is a no brainer.
I mean, the charge attack for Yakko alone could easily be a nod to Yakko's world where the charge is how many times you hit with the pointer and the end being the sweet spot.
Totally would've included them if I figured out a moveset I liked for them!

I would have like it if Nicole Watterson made it in the game. She could be a bruiser considering the powerful things she has done on the Amazing world of Gumball, besides if anyone were to be a rival to Ultra insinct Shaggy it would be her
I don't personally have a huge connection to Gumball but I have heard a few people ask for Nicole and I've seen a few clips. Definitely has potential haha.
Yoo Nicole could be the Krystal of Multiversus! Unless if Lola Bunny gets in first, I’m all for appealing to the furry crowd lol. Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2 could use Kitty Katswell too from Tuff Puppy too.

I agree that they would both make good characters in the game. The show was one Cartoon Network's most popular shows at the time and that they have a lot to work with since the show usually involves the two of the two of them getting caught up in some sort of crazy adventure while trying to get something simple done.
Hell yeah #Ben10forMultiversus!! Choosing the aliens based on classes is a great idea.

I think if Ben 10 were to have alternate skins, those skins could also effect the transformations, like if there was an alien force skin all the aliens would be swapped out for the alien force playlist.
I still think that at the very least Scooby should’ve been part of this roster, like I feel he’s probably the biggest missing exclusion aside from Daffy, other than that I think your choices are pretty sound!
Scooby would be an awesome pick! I adore Scooby-Doo, and would have included him with some more space. Heck, I'd take Daphne too. But I didn't wanna let my bias put that many Scooby characters there.
@@TheNerdIncarnate Nothing wrong with that I think if you’re cutting characters like Stripe and Morty, while keeping Rick and Gizmo I feel you should probably cut Velma to make space for Scooby, it just feels weird to not have him in the game compared to some of your other picks.
I actually think that in comparison Velma is important to have for a few reasons; she's got a unique playstyle, of course, she represents an underrepresented class (which I was wanting to balance out here) and she's a female rep, which I like to keep in mind for diversity's sake.
Stripe and Morty both unfortunately represent classes that had too much space on the roster, in my opinion, especially when Mage and Tank were stuck at 3 and Support only had 4.

I thought the biggest exclusion was Joker. Show of hands, who actually wanted Black Adam in MultiVersus for reasons not relating to the movie?
I think Emmet from the Lego movie having a full Lego themed moveset is a requirement
My only issue with the movesets is that some lack a cooperative bonus, like pulling people in with wonderwoman or giving your teammates a car with gizmo
A valid criticism; personally speaking, I don't like that aspect of the game as I think making it 2v2 is very difficult to balance for and I infinitely prefer 1v1; but I get where you're coming from.
@@TheNerdIncarnate Im curious where theyll go with the 2v2 aspect, as i feel like a lot of ppl are put off by it and want 1v1. I personally like it tho, one reason being because it allows the different classes to shine more, because I think in 1v1, certain classes like tanks might just be weak.
That being said I think they prob need to slow the game down a bit, to make both 1v1 and 2v2 polished and easier to balance.(i mainly mean the dodging. besides this, the game is already slow-ish with the floatiness)
The game definitely needs further defensive options and more differentiation in character movement options. At the moment, the characters feel like they move, jump, and fall at the same speed.
Also saying this because a majority of the characters already in game don't really give any worthwhile benefits, like needing to hold down special to give someone ice fists as superman, or whatever black adam does
@@TheNerdIncarnate I'd just have any support moves have an alternate use in 1v1s.... so that everyone has a double entendre support move that piggy backs as a useful move in 1v1s and changes depending on the match. Then I would give the same thing to all of the moves of support class, but support class is significantly weaker in 1v1s after your team mate is KOed, because these support moves that turn into "battle-technique" moves aren't kill confirm or high dps.
Something i would love is on stages like Scorpion's or Ruby's you have a chance to hear the announcer say "Alright the Combatants are set" as a small reference to Death Battle, the only other Rooster Teeth ip that isnt crashing and burning

I absolutely think, under current circumstances, Daffy should have been added last before the break... and been INCREDIBLY upset that he'd been overlooked until then. Still playing second fiddle to the rabbit...
Even if they had to make him a clone I'd rather take that than nothing.
Fun fact: during the games beta lifespan, a fan made a complete model, moveset, and animations for playable Daffy, and he looked stellar from both character and gameplay standpoint. I've seen somewhere that the person was supposedly hired for the dev team, and if that is true, then the fact that Daffy didn't actually make an appearance even when practically finished is a travesty

the entire opening talking about huge players in crossover games and not mentioning fortnite is WILD, it’s definitely the king of crossover games imo

Add-on concept: The Villain Update
As you said, villains are rather unrepresented. These are the bad guys I’d choose to change that:
•The Lich
He may be from the “modern” era, but none of the other included CN franchises (not counting Adult Swim) has such a powerful threat to the entire multiverse. He’d be the main villain in the campaign mode, gathering the other villains in his latest plot to wipe out all life, and be unlocked upon completing the story.
•Professor Pericles
The villain of the best Scooby-Doo show. His moveset would likely rely on summoning powerful monsters.
•Joker
For DC, it was really between him, Luthor, and Darkseid. Luthor’s harder to figure out moves for, and Darkseid would scrape against The Lich too much.
•(villain original to the game)
They’d be introduced as Reindog’s opposite number, and the main conduit for the Lich’s scheme.
•Yosemite Sam
Probably the most malevolent of Bugs’ rogues gallery.
•Sauron
•Shao Khan
Gonna be honest, I was running out of ideas. Although I do still think they have plenty to offer.

I wouldn't say I'm necessarily down for all of them as playable, but as story characters, definitely down. Mystery Incorporated was great. I actually considered Yosemite Sam! The Lich would also make a cool character or boss.
I think an awesome final smash for The Lich to do his one word command as the screen cuts to black and have him walk forward while saying an abridged version of the “i am beyond strength” speech. Then he lightly touches the opponent and they instantly die.
Well for villains, I have some ideas:

MULTIVERSUS ALREADY HAS A PLANNED MAIN VILLAIN!
It's The Nothing from The Neverending Story. That's the whole reason Reindog is in the game. His world was consumed by The Nothing and now Reindog is gathering heroes and villains from across the multiverse to help him defeat it before it can consume other worlds.
Funnily enough, Ruby, Scorpion, Brock, Beetlejuice, Austin Powers, and Darkseid are among the characters I want to see in Multiversus. The others include....

* Juliet Starling
* The Mask
* Spawn
* Pinky and the Brain
* Lapis Lazuli

I think ed edd and eddy would be unique as a fighter type similar to the ice climbers. The potential for the move set is insane considering how slapstick the show is.
I want Ed Edd n Eddy in so badly, but I have a hard time seeing them joining since they don’t outright own the characters

Your roster looks amazing. If we were to add any more of older CN properties it would be so awesome if we got KND content in this game later on. Specifically have Numbuh 1 as a playable character considering he’s the leader of Sector V. I would love to see how the MVS team would do his moveset. Maybe if it’s possible to create an alt skin they could have Abigail too if they get it to somehow work with Nigel’s big head lol. Another alt would have to be his Galactic outfit seen in the last episode of KND. Man I would love to see more KND content in this day and age.

What a great overview of this dream roster, and as someone who was also largely dissatisfied with the roster, something like this is basically perfect in my eyes, not really leaning towards one side of WB like a lot of these fan rosters tend to do. Aside from a few Hanna-Barbera and WB Pictures omissions (seriously, Mad Max and Hong Kong Phooey would be perfect!) this is one of the most complete fan ideas for MVS I've seen in a while.
I'm not personally too familiar with the Max Max IP, but I definitely think at least a stage is warranted. I'm glad to know you enjoyed the video and the roster!

A well done video, I agree with everything and I’m so excited for anticipated rerelease but I’m worried that that Playerfirst won’t pull through in a long supported game, we’ll just have to wait and see
I think a game like Multiversus would also give a chance for some lesser-known characters to get the spotlight. Someone like Black Hat from Cartoon Network's Villainous would be a perfect pick in my opinion.
With a lineup of IPs as vast as Warner Bros. we could have 200 characters and still not have everyone we need.

This was a very fun watch, I wouldn’t outright remove Lebron he’s too fun for his own good but I am open to giving his moveset over to Lola Bunny and we get more Female representation out of it, those RWBY characters look awesome too even if I’m not familiar with the series.

We really don’t need a disclaimer because you chose to use a Harry Potter character bro. I don’t even like that franchise but I think it’s ridiculous that it’s own fans are so wishy washy and can’t just admit they like it.

Great video! I always love build the roster videos and of the ones I've seen this is one of the best, you really put a lot of time and thought into characters classes and movesets and it shows. Also even though I don't play support characters I would be a Kramer main 100% and if his entrance animation isn't his iconic door opening I'm going to be upset.

Being an animation fan, my roster would most likely cut loads of live action characters in favour of animated ones, mostly from Cartoon Network and Looney Tunes
I like the idea of kicking out Lebron in favour of Lola as well, he was one of my favourite characters in the game due to his playstyle but the everpresent possibility of controversy makes me queasy at night. I'd also give Lola her Looney Tunes Show appearance and personality too at least in alt costume form if that's too nonsensical as the main appearance, having the basketball moveset and all
While I agree I’d love the see more from CN and LT, it’s important to acknowledge live action films and shows are an important part of WB’s library. Arya Stark, Neo from The Matrix, Willy Wonka, etc
Honestly when lebron got released I couldnt ignore the possibility of an alt skin for lola on lebron. We already saw it happen with jake and black adam so I wouldnt be surprised if it happened within the content of the relaunch.
I'm genuinely super excited to play Multiversus again. I hope it's liked as NASB2 so it can thrive as a unique platform fighter.
I do hope they continue to differentiate themselves from each other, though on the other hand I have some changes I would make to MvS to make it, imo, more fun.

I think that if there's one DC herald who should be on the actual roster other than Green Lantern and Aquaman, it's The Flash, specifically Wally West. Like you can have him outright avoid attacks by using a move to phase through stuff by intensely vibrating his whole body, and also have him be able to pull in nearby enemies with a tornado move where he can move his arms really fast to create a vortex. You can even have him be able to slow down one target at a time by draining the speed of his opponent and also be able to use a move where he runs around a target in circles repeatedly punching them. Last but not least he'd have a dash attack where he rams into other enemy players by running straight into them automatically at high speed and then stand proudly after landing his strike
In my "sneak previews" of what post Season 3, I included Flash! I felt he was the last necessary hero to round out the usual JLA lineup.
For an idea for a move, I am thinking about having him rush in and perform a dive catch. Which is a running gag in a lot of portrayals of him where if someone falls or gets knocked away, he performs a dive catch to catch someone.

I think the only gripe I have is the roles of the PPG. I think blossom and buttercup should have their roles switched. I dig the rest of the roster though
I dunno whenever I see discussion about Ben 10 online and in person the version of Ben that always is the first to come up is Yuri Lowenthalls Teen Ben who’d id argue is more iconic then Tara strongs.
It's down to personal preference. I went with classic as it's how I fell in love with the series, but I can't disrespect my man Yuri, he did a great job too. No matter which of the two gets in I'd be down.
I know I'm not the first person to say this, but honestly it just feels weird to me that Daffy wasn't in the base roster already. Also when the game comes back I hope the Warner Siblings are added eventually (apparently there's gonna be a WB lot stage and apparently it has Animaniacs references in it so...fingers crossed🤞🏾)

Maybe he has a meter that when it fills up, he gains access to his spinach! Maybe it doesn’t give him super strength, but instead gives me a completely new moveset which is way more zany and cartoony/unpredictable!
That could be a way to avoid comeback mechanics/ just a way to avoid being boring by just making him stronger or something.

I feel like a Lego rep in this roster would be a pretty cool inclusion. In terms of who, Emmet or Wildstyle would probably be the most obvious pick, I feel maybe Unikitty would make a more interesting moveset.
Or maybe one of the ninjas from Ninjago. (Haven’t really watched that show, but I know it’s definitely popular enough for a roster spot.)

17:54 Not anymore, because of WB neglect of not doing anything with the IP, their license expired, and when it expired the Lord of the Rings IP was put on sale, and Embracer Group bought the rights, and now own the Lord of the Rings IP, not Warner Bros, this was happening during Multiversus development and is the reason why Gandalf is not in the game, even though his moveset was fully ready and leaked. so yeah, Gandalf is not a Warner Bros character anymore.

From the research I did (which could definitely be out of date) Embracer Group owns the IP but WB has exclusive rights to gaming appearances of the IP, which is why I justified this. You're definitely correct on Midway, I had a brain fart about that!

Ben 10 needs to be included he's one of the most unique characters they could add that's popular. I believe classic is definitely the best, kind of like Sora. Both using their first and most iconic appearance, I feel like no one would be mad at it unlike the reboot Ben or Omniverse (even though I love it).
Very good line-up and great video for just your second! I think the line-up here is great, and is definitely one that works well. Personally, I would of maybe tried to of had maybe one more Midway character if possible along side Scorpion, but of course finding an adequate pick would of been hard. I also think it would of been cool if we were thinking about this like a standard full release as well what the single player content would be like as well, since I feel like that was one of the main reasons it didn't have very much staying power for most people besides a quick fling. Considering lots of platform fighters usually try and pride themselves with good single player content, I think thinking of something for Multiversus would of been fun. Also thank you for including KO he is literally perfect for a game like Multiversus and I love my little boy so much
I definitely wouldn't be opposed to revisiting and maybe crafting a single player design in the future.
Midway characters are a hard one since the obvious picks go to MK, but the variety of playstyles in that lineup is so vast it's hard to pick just one. My next pick would probably be Raiden but I could see about any MK character being argued for.
I know Scorpion and Sub Zero are the two obvious choices for a Mortal Kombat rep, but I think Shang Tsung would be the best choice.
As a shapeshifter he could transform into different character from the series for each one of his moves. It allows them to reference many MK character with a single roster spot.
Maxwell scribblenauts is owned by Warner bros. And with their team centric focus, I can't think of a better fighter than the person who can litteraly change their teammates and enemies attributes with their notebook lol.
Maxwell would be an excellent choice. Scribblenauts is a fun little series.
I don’t know if you’ve seen the leaked roster way back when Multiversus came out, but Godzilla was mentioned in the code. So maybe him and Kong could get in at some point 🤔

This is a really nice video, and I like your picks for the roster. But I do have one criticism, MultiVersus is mainly a team based fighter, and all the current fighters (that I know of) have at least one move that a teammate can benefit from as well, even if they aren't a support class. Its the one thing that other than having a warner bros roster makes it different from the other fighters out there.
I understand where you're coming from. Personally, I don't like that aspect of the game, as 2v2 is the least fun way to play.
There was nothing wrong with the roster. (Except for the fact they have to add in some broad from Game of Thrones and never bothered to add in Gandalf from Lord of the Rings like they originally intended.)

The roster's a lot of fun, honestly. I feel like Reindog, Ruby and Weiss are the ones I'd cut, but I understand why they're there; it mostly stems down to Reindog's general unpopularity and blandness, and the fact that RWBY's popularity can be understated. A lot. There's an argument to be made about Venture Bros. being just as niche, but at least it can represent an easier brand to associate with WB than Rooster Teeth. Aside from that, everything is so well thought-out, the video was very engaging.
Thank you! I am not even really a fan of RWBY, moreso it's potential. Character design, weapon design, and power carry it pretty hard. As for Reindog? I don't really care for him, but I figured I could let them keep their baby, especially since I needed more support fighters to keep things balanced.

The thing with RWBY also makes sense, since it’s videogame-y enough; I just really didn’t see it as big enough or associated it with WB. But it’s true, it’s got potential for its own platfighter or something.
If you include Scorpion, you have to include Sub-Zero too. Yeah, it’s another ninja representing MK, but you can’t have the mascot of the franchise without his eternal rival.
I would imagine him as an Assasin, giving him a lot of mobility on the ground with an Ice Slide and applying pressure with his classic Ice Ball that, of course, freezes the opponent if they get hit by it, or you can even give armor to your ally if they happen to touch the proyectile
Anything? I think it would be a more interesting combo if scorpion was an assassin while Sub-Zero was a mage character, especially considering their skill sets in play styles in their respective games.
I think Scorpion should keep his command inputs for stronger versions of his specials like how Ryu, Ken, Terry, and Kazuya have theirs in Smash.

Also while I'd be utterly shocked if one got in, I think an infinity train character would be awesome. You could probably use Amelia in her conductor mech or just put Tulip

Quick note: the devs never openly stated that this game was mutually exclusive to Warner characters and I'm guessing that there would be a few characters that Warner has close ties to but doesn't own could get in
Right, but every character thus far has been from a WB IP and that well is so vast I see no point in muddying the water just because they have unconfirmed aspirations to include non-WB characters, and considering WB owns the Multiversus IP, it stands to reason they want to prioritize their own products.

The only problem I had with this is that you chose Classic Series Ben, leaving no room for representation from the other, great series, also using the most inexperienced Ben. I would have personally gone with Omniverse Ben, with Heatblast, Humungousaur, Fasttrack, Grey Matter and Bloxx
I feel like if I put Bloxx the Ben 10 fandom would've gutted me. I'm down to represent more series, heck, with a second Ben even, but I went with my gut here.
