I just got mine here in Australia, where we don't get Multiband 6 so Bluetooth was a huge selling point for me. I love mine, it's going to be my new daily for work!
I have the previous metal one in blue and I very pleased, no Bluetooth, no tough solar. However I see this model becoming a legend like the DW 5600 series.
I feel like people (myself included) have overlooked that the watch is actually made in Japan, when we're comparing the price vs the resin models. We know Casio QC is strong around the world, but made in Japan is worth something. Labor cost and attention to detail is that much higher. ..Just a thought.. while I wait for mine to be delivered. Very excited! Thanks for the video.
I’m gonna buy this soon, it’s truly a beauty. I just wish the glass was sapphire to make it a complete package and to set it apart from the cheaper versions.
OMG! I just got one for $230! Soon as I bought it the price jumped back up to $480(!?!) When I opened the box, I was blown away. It's smaller than I expected, in a great way. Thinner than my other gshocks. I feel like no one talls about the back of the watch. It's different from all the ga-gm models. The round cover has a premium look and feel. The steel is polished sooo well, the watch sparkles on the wrist. My friends who got rolexes as wedding presents were admiring the watch and kind of jealous of how nice the watch looked, plus the solar and bluetooth😂 one even grabbed my wrist to see what brand it was and shocked it was from gshock🥁 lume on the hour markers were a nice touch. So glad I didn’t do a gab2100 with a mod kit and got this for actually cheaper. I see people talking about how they want a positive display but those backgrounds would ruin the look of the face. Love your review very comprehensive. I just wish I can figure out the find my phone function 😂
Excellent review. I've been waiting patiently for the perfect model. This is pretty close. Don't care about Multiband 6, it's unnecessary and it doesn't work in many regions and even within regions covered, it sometimes doesn't work. Bluetooth connection to the phone is better. Great to see lume on the markers at last, and I like the negative display, but for the price, the crystal should have been sapphire. I think the price increase definitely warrants sapphire.
by far the best video reviewing the new GM 2100 (series). I like the layout/segments of your watch reviews and you show the whole watch not just the "nice" angles shown on the website. again good job and looking forward for future videos.
I own one B2100. I am happy to wear one. Just two downsides: No atomic time keeping just Bluetooth and it has already two visible scratches since I bought it last year😢
So I have this. And yes it looks stylish and it’s cool that it has an “AP Royal Oak” type look. But… the hands are very hard to see and blend into the dial. Also in the dark the lumes don’t last very long. Overall very stylish just not as functional as other color ways. The rose gold looks like it’s the most functional of the three metal releases but definitely not the coolest due to the silver looking most like a “Royal Oak” and let’s be honest that’s the whole point of the watch. That’s what makes it a cool watch.
I have this very watch. Yes, it was expensive for what it is, but I have no regrets. Sure, sapphire would have been consistent with a watch at this price point and the clasp could be a little better, but the poor visibility of the hour and minute hands is my biggest criticism. Nevertheless, I love this watch. The size is great for a G-Shock and very wearable on my 6 3/4". It's my second G-Shock (the rest of my collection is mechanical watches) and I could see myself getting more as long as they're reasonably sized. Overall, I'm happy with this watch and it gets a lot of wrist time.
Hey Scott 6 3/4 means your wrist is about 17cm?if it's correct, maybe you can send me some photos, where you are wearing the watch? I love the look and git a cheap offer, but my wrist is also small and I can't decide, because the watch looks very big to me.
Very nice looking watch, but the price makes you wonder if the watch is actually using some special metal. At $550-600, you would expect some kind of platinum, silver or titanium construction.
You are right. Sapphire crystal isn't expensive. Looking at Casio's strategy, they only reserve sapphire crystal for premium range like MT-G, high-end Gravity Master, Frogman and above. If you realise, they are all above USD700.
@ned haleem True. Then again, that's Edifice, not within G-Shock itself. It is a totally different business unit in Casio. Fully agree you can get an Edifice for USD300 with sapphire crystal. You would also realise that price levels between the two sub-brands are very different. I realise that Edifice pricing starts lower for sapphire crystal.
yeah i think in the initial launch advertising it was rose gold, and i didn't order one, then when I went to the store here in NYC, I saw it was more a copper colour, I had to have it. I do believe they changed it as it did disappear from the website early on.
That’s awesome! They always seem to play a bit of roulette with the Rose Gold/ Bronze/ Copper options for the “official” name of this colour way, great to know it’s a nice copper! Congratulations & thanks for watching! 😁
The price for this is the problem. When you can buy the clear version of the GA2100 for $100/US, the buy the mod kit for around $125/US. You can save around $300. While the watch looks good I can't justify the price.
My main issue with it is that it’s so shiny, I would have much preferred brushing all over. I’m hopefully there will be a titanium one at some point. Love my resin 2100 but the metal one isn’t grabbing me because they are all so glossy.
I like the way you handle the watch. You knew it's a fingerprint and smudge magnet, so your fingers didn't touch the glossy surface on the metal. That's correct! Most watch reviewers can't wait to introduce oily fingerprints onto the watch metal, some even onto the glass. You really know how to handle watches. 👍
I have a black resin GA-B2100 (and really love it!). I really like the look of these, yours is by far the best review of it I've seen. I rather like the black coated version but the the silver is great too. How easy was the bracelet to size? Agree about the negative display - in this instance it seems to suit the watch better than a positive one would perhaps. Still feel the price premium over the resin models is too high - about £100 less would be a fairer price I feel.
Thank you very much! The bracelet is relatively easy to resize, spring bars pop out with a link removal tool :) I think most people have the same opinion about the price, G-Shock offering G-Steel watches for around $300/350 has caused a big stir. Not that they’re the exact same but it’s certainly thrown a spanner! Thanks for watching!
Have now bought the full metal version as a Christmas present - great watch in terms of style, fit and finish (but the dial and digital display not as easy to read as the resin model's is). Very pleased to finally get this on my wrist though!
In my opinion the Silver model should have the Silver hands and indices. 'cause this looks like they copy it from Black stealth model. From this reason I am going for Rose gold copper model, where hands has the best visibility.
To me, a big aesthetic drawback is the short hour and minute hands. The minute hand in particular looks stunted, not reaching the minute marks on the dial. Almost all analog G-Shocks have this same "flaw".
Nice watch. I would prefer the rosegold version. BUT as a full metal version the watch does lose the advantage of being light weight. Legibility does not seem to be very good. And the price is too high.
I have the rose version and absolutely love it! I have done the aliexpress metal kits and I have to say... g shock blows any kits away. The fit and finish of this gmb is amazing. I actually like the app and the "remember" function. I can't get it off the wrist!
That's something I've been wondering about. I was toying with the idea of getting the resin Bluetooth version and modding it with a metal kit. I've never tried one of these, have you had experience of it? I am having trouble finding an app that has my model in the list for Bluetooth connectivity. As far as any future features I would love to see Casio make a band for this out of forged/pressed carbon fiber like Lamborghini use for its hood emblems.
Beautiful. A couple of things they could add up next year, even 3 things. 1. Sapphire crystal. 2. Minutes indexes in chrome instead of black for this model. And 3. Make a golden colour one. Good review. Cheers!
When you see in person the Metal Craftsmanship that G-Shock (all full metal models) provides... the £499 is justified! There's no other watch in this price range with better craftmanship... add the durability and versatility and... yes!
Check out Victorinox Inox with metal bracelet, comes with sapphire glass! No Casio functionality tho... but as for the quality of craftsmanship it's remarkable
Gorgeous timepiece, but somewhat disappointed with the use of mineral glass @ this price point, other than that this might be the best Casioak out there and this is coming from someone who considers the GM2100B-3A to be king!
Mineral glass? Still? I own many, many G-shocks and this still blows my mind. Right now I’m wearing a San Martin pilot watch with a Swiss made Ronda 715 movement, exquisitely finished, unbelievable bracelet, sapphire glass and it cost me $120. Surely Casio can afford to put sapphire glass in a $500 watch.
@@shino8854Who told you that? It's nothing more than a silly myth to suggest that Sapphire Glass is less impact resistant than Mineral Glass. It's been proven that both glasses at the same thickness have the same impact resistance.
I love the day feature on my GM-2100. Replacing it with the mode indicator is a huge step back in my opinion. With the GM-2100 you can look at the, day, date, month, hours, minutes, and seconds at a glance at any given moment. The new one looks nice, but they should have kept the day. The screen shows the mode you change into whenever you press the mode button. It’s redundant.
I bought the black B2100 and I’m regretting it a bit. I was a wearing a bright watch before that and in this watch, it’s not so easy to watch time. I like watches where one fleeting glance and you know what time it is. Even screen is too dim. Possibly should have gone for non-solar version or for the other color.
Would love a full titanium structure (scratch resistant) on the case, bracelet, clasp and crown with blue hour and minute hands. Please Casio, make this happen!!40mm or 44mm to choose from too.
The rose gold is the most ledgable...they really need to bring out the original ga2100 light grey markers with those white hands and a positive display on silver steel ...id pull the trigger straight away !!! other than that it have be the GST B500 in silver steel ...Lets hope they bring out more colourways as i think thats where theyve gone wrong personally..Stealth is pointless unless uve really good eyesight....
Prob with BT link is ard daylight saving. The other day, my phone decided that it would fast forward an hr. Thankfully, I have a regular watch which saved the day! TQ for your lovely review. Btw, do you have the GMWB5000? Can you please comment on whether the first link bends in enough for a small wrist? Frustrating when Casio obviously wants people of all wrist sizes to wear their product with all links removable - yet makes a fixed connecting watch bracelet which juts out for small wrists.
I am a massive fan of Multiband 6 but this is not a doom's day watch and it's ok for it to be Bluetooth-driven. I think it's an awesome watch. I am seriously considering it for my office days
I live in a country without MB6 reception. And GPS reception is slow (my GPW-1000 reception for time (T) took seconds, and time plus position (T+P) information took minutes, and the GPS functionality eventually broke down anyway). Bluetooth is a winner. Everyone and their grandmother has a smartphone nowadays anyway.
so one question, does the watch has to be constantly be connected to the app with bluetooth on the phone on all the time for it to keep accurate time throughout ?
I've got both the ga2100 and the gab2100 on my ga2100 I've got the steel mod kit with the ap bracelet personally I think it's way nicer than the new metal bracelet.
I really want this and at a stretch could afford it. However I think I'd be paying a lot of money for stuff I wouldn't use. I'm not fussed about it linking to a phone and can't be fussed with setting all that up or ever using it. It seems a little over priced already at 449 and buying it at that price for looks alone just doesn't seem quite worth it
Thank you! :) Just press into the spring bars (with a spring bar tool or alike) on each link until you feel it release, repeat until you’ve removed the amount you need! Thanks for watching 🤝😎

Would love a full titanium structure (scratch resistant) on the case, bracelet, clasp and crown with blue hour and minute hands. Please Casio, make this happen!!40mm or 44mm to choose from too.
full brushed titanium would probably justify the price tag too!
@@mad0ucheKiwami limited edition is full titanium for $3,500.
@@AbsoluteADCC okay but it is not modeled after the royal oak...
Same here. Going for GST B500 stainless with red text. Casio saved me a lot of money by not making a legible GM-B2100...
Beautiful. I wonder whether the shock resistance is as good as the original resin watch body type. Poor man Royal Oak?
I still like the blackout version on strap the most.
Excellent review
nice watch , prefer the face than the digital look ,
Got mine way before release from work
A little too pricey. The dark dial area is a real miss. On the next rev, add sapphire and brighten up the dial.
Apple's ultra with titanium and saphire suddenly seems very reasonable.. 🤔
I love the silver one but it costs $550 and the other two colours are both at $600
I am a massive fan of Multiband 6 but this is not a doom's day watch and it's ok for it to be Bluetooth-driven. I think it's an awesome watch. I am seriously considering it for my office days
Multiband 6 is so close to being a dealbreaker for me. I never have to do anything with my 5610 and it just works flawlessly and keeps perfect time.
@@Mr.M1STER Hahaha! So true!:)
Sir, does this watch comes with autolight function?
Hey! This one doesn’t, would be good to see on future iterations!
@@TimeDrops_ yes, Sir
Is it possible to see what day for example ”monday” and the date, displayed at the same time?
Why don't they make the hands and hour markers white (with lume)? The watch face seems so dark and hard to read.
so one question, does the watch has to be constantly be connected to the app with bluetooth on the phone on all the time for it to keep accurate time throughout ?
Are the bands interchangeable? I like the rose gold version but would actually prefer a black/navy band.
Is this okay for skinny wrists.?
Any chance of them making a smaller 40.5 mm version of this?
There are good Black Friday deals available for this watch. Just brought mine for 30% off, go have a look if your interested in buying.
I've got both the ga2100 and the gab2100 on my ga2100 I've got the steel mod kit with the ap bracelet personally I think it's way nicer than the new metal bracelet.
Nice review. Watch is beautiful
Hello, which color is less prone to visibility of hairline scratches, silver or the black? Thanks so much
Black
great review and love this version. Keep on the good work
Thank you very much :)
This really should have been a audemars X casio thing. That would not have been trash like the omega X swatch.
I was thinking of getting this watch. Does it take a battery or is it automatic?
Yea...if i have more money,i would buy it
Still without sapphire for this price is inexcusable!
The bracelet is an acquired taste but it's certainly unique. I think 600USD absurd but if they can sell it at that price, good for them.
I really want this and at a stretch could afford it. However I think I'd be paying a lot of money for stuff I wouldn't use. I'm not fussed about it linking to a phone and can't be fussed with setting all that up or ever using it. It seems a little over priced already at 449 and buying it at that price for looks alone just doesn't seem quite worth it
GORGEOUS
Can’t wait for the MRG-2100 😂.
It's going to be MRG-B3000.
What is that ?
@@jaimiperry9907 Future model? 😄
@@jamess8175 full metal also ?
@@jaimiperry9907 Not only full metal, it's full titanium.
I bet you there's a titanium version coming.
Great video how do you resize it?
Thank you! :) Just press into the spring bars (with a spring bar tool or alike) on each link until you feel it release, repeat until you’ve removed the amount you need! Thanks for watching 🤝😎
I have relatively thin wrists, can we adjust this to fit?
Yes! Should be able to! 😁
I'd like to see an automatic light, seeing as it's tough solar.
I'd like to see the time and place more interactive and transferible to Google maps.
God tier watch
