    What these specs on these head units never seem to outline is the difference between pre out vs speaker out. If you have a separate amp in your car you want pre outs, not speaker out. Running speaker out to your amp will have a level that is much to high and result in heavily distorted and loud output.

    That hondata thing on the screen is pretty cool

  • @egolono10
    @egolono10 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    How did you plug in the rest of the speakers? Looks like you just plugged into the gray connector and left the green one disconnected except for the amp and steering wheel control?

    My son has a 2009 Civic Coupe which we are trying to swap the head unit over, but for some reason the sound is like max volume on number 1. Any ideas / solutions to solve this? Thanks.

    • @npvfa5
      @npvfa5  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would go into the EQ of the head unit, and make sure that it isn’t on a “LOUD” setting or something similar to that.

    • @ryani5103
      @ryani5103 ปีที่แล้ว

      Theres a Tuber out there with an Si that addresses this issue. Sorry I cant say which but from what I gather it has something to do with the compatibility with the stock amp.

  • @wrandino
    @wrandino ปีที่แล้ว

    does the thing about the blue cord and the amp only apply if you have an actual AMP system and all that jazz?? or is it like a base model amp type of thing

  • @AbelNutu
    @AbelNutu ปีที่แล้ว

    How’s the sound quality compared to stock? Does the quality seem to change at higher volumes? I got a similar unit for my Subaru and the quality ended up being much worse compared to stock

    • @npvfa5
      @npvfa5  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quality is just as good as stock. The biggest difference in sound is that this head unit gets loud a lot sooner. I never go past 7 or 8 on the volume.

    • @NightFlight1973
      @NightFlight1973 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@npvfa5 It sounds like the output level is too high for what the premium amp expects. You might be able to put some attenuators (resistors) in line to the amplifier audio inputs.

    Hi! Did your 2 screws under the radio go back in with the aftermarket head unit? I just installed mine and there’s no way it would work there. Without them it seems a bit shaky to me.

    • @npvfa5

    Why would you need 4gb instead of the 2gb? Is it for more apps?

    • @npvfa5
      @npvfa5  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The extra ram will help with speed of apps opening and turning on. It also decreases the likelihood you run into lag issues with the tablet.

    Did you use the aftermarket gps antenna or were you able to plug the OEM one in?

    • @npvfa5

      @@npvfa5 Thx for the reply. So, did you see a wire for the OEM GPS going to the old head unit? I'm thinking of going this route, but then I'd have a useless OEM fin on the roof.

      For the regular Si’s you simply splice to the light blue (amp) wire.

    Great info! I was wondering are you able to run the Hondata app via usb connection instead of using Bluetooth?
    I guess what I mean is plug the flashpro to the obs port then plug the other end of flashpro (usb) to the new stereo and run the Hondata app.
    I have an older flashpro that don’t have the Bluetooth feature .
    Great video and I love the lip on your car .

      Ok finally figured it out, had to do it a little different than your route. So I had to take the brown ground wire for the steering wheel controls and tap into the black ground wire off the harness that’s opposite of the black ground wire you used for the antenna. @@npvfa5 well, the remote doesn’t lock or unlock and neither does the buttons on the door panels. But it does unlock and lock when I put it in park and drive like it normally would. But we decided to take this one out and put in the same one you got. I think that since it’s not made for Honda it just doesn’t power everything in the vehicle.
