I wish I would of found your channel earlier in the process of me installing this. I watched so many videos and no one fully showed anything or mentioned the clips once. Thank you for taking the time to show everything that’s needed this helped me immensely. Thank you, I love you little old man💖
Thanks Danny. I have a Honda Civic 2008( my first car). I am learning so many things about the car and how to maintain it properly from your videos. Keep making more videos.
After installing a similar unit half of my AC panel backlight went black. I did observe it only after a while when driving at night. Do you had to ever replace light bulbs on the AC panel?
Beautifully done. I checked out the Idoing site, I notice they specify Premium. I have a 2006 Civic Hybrid and want to replace the Navigation unit frozen on the "open" screen (the screen is not open). I *think* it has premium sound (6 speakers) but am not certain.
'Premium' audio system have a powered amp and sub in the rear deck. Your radio will also state Premium above the CD slot as previously stated. If you do not have those you do not have Premium audio. I also would strongly advise against doing any radio swap on a Premium audio system unless you are planning on completely rewiring and removing the original amp. There are some harnesses out there to remove the amp. 8th gen cars with swapped radios still using the oem amp are known to have issues with static and volume gain. Also, the sub and tweeters will also no longer function. It is unfortunate that there is not a known good fix for these issues. While Idoing lists the Premium option as working I am beyond suspicious that it will still have the same known issues with swaps in Premium audio system. (Static, lose of function in tweeters and sub, volume gain)
If you have premium you would have tweeters in your dash corners by the windsheild as well as the other items another poster mentioned. I have a Radio like this same design not sure if the same manufacter i have a octacore 6g +128g. I also have premium sound. I had a factory nav unit. The radio just makes life easier with phone upgrades I couldnt use the aux anymore USBC to AUX jack only played one speaker. This radio fixed that. You will have a bunch of unused cables though because we are going from a NAV unit thats has CD and DVD to just a headunit. everything works though and my stereo sounds so good. I came upon this because I am trying to figure out how to get into its launcher to change a widget on the homescreen launcher
Great video. Is it necessary to install the GPS and 4G antennas if you plug your phone to this unit? It looks like a SIM card can be added so this can be used without a phone then the antennas are needed correct? Thank you.
Yes in my Honda Element I added the camera, here is the video, I plan on doing this to the Civic, just haven’t gotten to it yet th-cam.com/video/o51oKpimWKE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TEBtHnfRakNMzSmq
Did you receive the bezel in the same package as the head unit? i received mine the other day but the bezel didn't come with it even though the DHL shipping tracker says delivered.
Great video, one question, I know this is the 4 door civic and I think the 2 doors has a different stereo which need to take "power " from one line, do you know by any chance which line is that?
Hi! I’m planning on installing a similar headunit to my gf’s 2010 civic. I was wondering if I need to disconnect the battery before I start taking the trim pieces off. If so, how do I do it?
Did you have to drill a hole into the lower panel for the USB wires to come out of? I'm wondering how you did it so the work doesn't look cheap. I've been looking this up to see if they have an updated panel with the a slot for the passenger airbag and I think yes, but another option maybe to put it lower near the USB wires in that little panel? I'm not sure but thinking about different options. Thanks in advance!
I ended up purchasing them from the dealership, they were not cheap, I bought a few on Amazon but were way to tight and I didn’t feel comfortable using them
Hey Danny that was a detailed video. Thanks. Do we need airbag light to be visible? You have hidden it inside. What if it glows to show some warning how will you know? Or is there a CAN bus adapter required for Civic?
It should come with the bezel, it ships separate, so they may not come at the same time, call or send a message, but mine came in two separate shipments
@@dannysdiygarage factory or the new system come with one? I'm looking in how, if it's possible, to hook the factory camera on a 2014 to the android radio. The original radio was analog, no nav but the car has a reverse camera that I'm trying to use/hook. I just get a black screen when I reverse. Any hints? Thanks.
If you’re installing it on a Honda Civic it’s great, it looks and fits like factory, no cutting wires or panels, my wife drives this car most of the time and she love it, she can answer calls, see text and see navigation, we use iPhone, I’m currently in the process of installing one in my Honda Element, this is a much harder process, due to they don’t make a plug and play unit for the Element. For the Civic we are very happy
I’m not sure how this compares with other units out there, but this one works flawlessly, let me know if you purchase one, I don’t get any commission or compensation of any kind, so this is my actual review
Hi Danny, My order came in today but I missing the thing that you attached the head unit to it. I’m not sure how it call. How many boxes did it came in for you? I have only 1 box. Just the head unit and wire that it.
Personally the unit looks to big for a civic. I would not have put in anything larger than an 8" unit. The player look like an unbranded atoto stereo and not worth the 500 you shelled out. But I am a cheap pollock

Thanks for showing how to do this, how to remove the dash and the controls. This is a huge help!
This video was very helpful. I just ordered one for my 2007 Civic.
Appreciate you adding this, great update
Clean and perfect installation. Perfect tutorial... Thanks.
Appreciate that, thanks
You skipped the main thing I needed help with, connecting everything 😂😂🤦🏽♂️

You had guide so properly, like from Pakistan
Thanks so much

Look the head unit you have near CD slot. It should say premium if it is.
I can’t answer that question

Do you need to have your phone plugged into usb for CarPlay to work or can you connect wirelessly? Thanks Danny.
Yes it will work wirelessly or plugged in, either way
Thanks Danny, Hope they have one for the Element.
That video will be coming soon, I ordered it👍🏼
I have a 2008 Civic EX Coupe how much are those? And where can I have someone put it in my car in Spokane WA

No I received them at different times

Not a big deal leaving it connected, disconnecting it is a safety feature, you should be fine leaving it connected

Yes,
How did you get the 2 bolts out under the radio. They are a nightmare! Thanks
Mirror and 1/4 “ 7mm socket if I remember correctly

I would loved to have the light visible, however it wasn’t an option
For the airbag sensor you can just mount and screw to the hazard switch. No need to have that dangling
