i think someone needs to organise a traditional malay wedding for ichang n jimmy, that would be fantastic and both of you can repeat ur vows in malay in front of ur adopted countrymen & women.... i would pay n attend for that wedding, for sure!!!
What makes ichang and Jimmy videos different from others, aside from their kindness, appreciation and consideration for our Malaysian cultures, that they researched each food and state reasonably well before they feast. It's not merely a channel for eating and cooking. Their commentaries while savouring each dishes is something that I always looking forward to..like what elements of the food they can taste (eg galangal, nuts, ginger etc), or nasi ambeng has no prominent flavour profile. While some of Jimmy's comments made me laugh, mostly I learned something everytime I watch their video. My father's from Johor but I never knew about the culture of eating laksa Johor by hand. Many thanks ichang and Jimmy 👍👍
When jimmy justify the 'eating laksa johor by hand' action by explaining all the advantages, i died with laughing 🤣 If local tell him that eating mee bandung Muar by straw is exist, I believe he will justify that too. Million kudos to Jimmy for your highly appreciation of authentic local habit
So proud of you guys eating Laksa johor with your hands, not a lot of people do but that's the traditional way of eating it. I still do it,but only if the gravy is thick and not watery. Glad you are enjoying Johorean food. Also in case no one has said it yet, the fried 'tempe' that Jimmy ate is actually cow's lungs. It's typically boiled first, then sliced thinly and deep fried with the rempahs.
I'm working and living in Sweden for almost 1 year now. Watching iChang n Jimmy videos makes me miss Malaysia so much especialy when ichang and jimmy was in my kampung Kelantan. Keep posting ichang n jimmy and thank you.

I've been to Johor several times and if I'm not mistaken, people in Johor do eat laksa with their hands and the laksa is made from spaghetti.. there is one more food that I have tried but I forgot the name, it is thick bread eaten with peanut sauce, onion and chili👌my grandma in malaysia used to cooked this gravy she’s called chole in punjab😁

It is ikan masin (salted fish) 14:01 actually we have different types of curry. Fish curry, chicken curry, beef curry, mutton curry..all are different taste and thickness. Curry for rice is different from curry for bread / roti jala / lempeng, also different for noodles.

If you go to Kelantan or Terengganu (where I am from), some people still eat their laksa (which is quite different from laksa Johor) with their hand. I still eat laksa using my hand (no utensils) although one time someone called me uncivilised for doing so 💆♂.

Mostly Javanese Malaysia are from Johor, Selangor & a little in Perak...Nasi Ambeng also can be found in Selangor... Durian Gravy(Kuah/Serawa Durian) also the best dipping for Roti Jala...
Finally Laksa Johor. So glad you guys enjoyed it. But I strongly recommend you to use fork & spoon so that you can savor the noodle & kuah together till the last slurp. Not many people use hands for noodle dishes 😆

omg i spent my childhood in this neighbourhood in larkin just a few houses away…. JB people eat Johor Laksa with bare hands but normally at home.. I also seldom see people eat this laksa using bare hands at restaurants- mainly using fork and spoon… the thicker the sauce the better.. my favorite food since childhood .. special dish during Hari Raya in JB❤.. itadakimasu!

Abang Handsome is niceu. It's a cultural things in Malaysia regarding foods, sometimes people have good mood they treat people and elderly treat you when you friendly with them. However you guys can do that to other by paying forward to show your nice gesture when you're in a good mood.
since you at johor, I'd recommend you to go to Pontian, Johor, there a restaurant there that served satay as main dish. It called Sate Atok, it currently run by my friend family. It quite a restaurant so feel free to go there

Usually in Malaysia or Singapore, noodles with soup generally people don't eat with hands. its with fork/spoon or chopsticks. Unless its Fried mee (mee goreng) which is dry, then it is eaten with hands. just like mee rebus it has gravy so its eaten with fork/spoon and NOT with hands.
I eat noodle with hands before when there's no utensils. but the reason some people eat that laksa with hand because it wasn't very hot and the gravy was thick. Imagine you eat a hot bowl of Penang Laksa with hand. You hurt yourself more than you enjoy eat it 🤣
I find it challenging to eat anything noodle-like with the hand. Noodles do not have the texture of rice, that would scoop the gravy and other ingredients.
WELL IN TERENGGANU , PAHANG AND JOHOR WE DO EAT OUR LAKSA AND LAKSAM WITH OUR HANDS TRADITIONALLY. THAT IS WHY IN TERENGGANU, PAHANG AND JOHOR OUR LAKSA KUAH IS MORE PEKAT AND NOT WATERY LIKE IN PENANG OR OTHER STATES. XD

That is fried beef lung. We boiled the beef lung till it becomes soft. Then, mix with spices and deep fry it.

omg i spent my childhood in this neighbourhood in larkin just a few houses away…. JB people eat Johor Laksa with bare hands but normally at home.. I also seldom see people eat this laksa using bare hands at restaurants- mainly using fork and spoon… the thicker the sauce the better.. my favorite food since childhood .. special dish during Hari Raya in JB❤.. itadakimasu!
a johorean here! eating laksa johor with bare hand is actually a thing believe it or not! it's all started when one of our queen make laksa using pasta and ate it with her hands! you just reminded me of this thank you!

@@ichangrm YES THE jOHOR LAKSA WAS INVENTED BY THE QUEEN AND SULTAN OF JOHOR SO IT WAS A ROYAL DISH BEFORE IT WAS SPREAD TO LOCAL PEOPLE.

Hi, actually thats true..typical johorian using hand when they're eating laksa johor. But nowdays its too seldom to see them eating laksa by hand especially when dining inside the shop.
Abang Handsome is niceu. It's a cultural things in Malaysia regarding foods, sometimes people have good mood they treat people and elderly treat you when you friendly with them. However you guys can do that to other by paying forward to show your nice gesture when you're in a good mood.
since you at johor, I'd recommend you to go to Pontian, Johor, there a restaurant there that served satay as main dish. It called Sate Atok, it currently run by my friend family. It quite a restaurant so feel free to go there

Usually in Malaysia or Singapore, noodles with soup generally people don't eat with hands. its with fork/spoon or chopsticks. Unless its Fried mee (mee goreng) which is dry, then it is eaten with hands. just like mee rebus it has gravy so its eaten with fork/spoon and NOT with hands.
i always eat laksa with hand because its kinda slipery n i feel like i could got more sauce with hand, also im not from johor

I eat noodle with hands before when there's no utensils. but the reason some people eat that laksa with hand because it wasn't very hot and the gravy was thick. Imagine you eat a hot bowl of Penang Laksa with hand. You hurt yourself more than you enjoy eat it 🤣

I find it challenging to eat anything noodle-like with the hand. Noodles do not have the texture of rice, that would scoop the gravy and other ingredients.
WELL IN TERENGGANU , PAHANG AND JOHOR WE DO EAT OUR LAKSA AND LAKSAM WITH OUR HANDS TRADITIONALLY. THAT IS WHY IN TERENGGANU, PAHANG AND JOHOR OUR LAKSA KUAH IS MORE PEKAT AND NOT WATERY LIKE IN PENANG OR OTHER STATES. XD
