- This video will teach you step by step how to install the rear camber arm with basic tools, doing the first one will take one an hour, it depends on you, but the second one with experience will not take more than 40 minutes. You do not need to take your car to the mechanic since I teach as much as possible every detail or problem that is found along the way.
Thank you. My boyfriend works on my car and he needed help finding this.
Keep the good work
Awesome video! tons of helpful tips and tricks on this job! super helpful!
Thanks Bro, I'm going to make another video about that, because that brand of control arm didn't last the bad roads in California, I already bought better ones and I'll show the differenc, so you don't make the mistake of buying that brand like I did.
Been looking for a videoo like this for a longg timee after going through rear tiress likee crazyyy , did you ask to adjust with positive camber when you took it for aligment ??
@@bassnjeep6537 Thanks Bro, Yes, at that time when I took it for alignment, they did the positive camber on the vehicle and since then I have not had any problems. Now I just need to do the front upper control arm too, so everything wears evenly. Just watch my other video, where I do the review on the rear camber, don’t get the brand Godspeed.
@@momo5757 ohh ok got you , yeaa i did my front control arm and lower arm bushings for the front already , but couldnt figure out why the rears were wearing out so bad and fast , didnt think about adjustable arms for the camber till i saw your video , gonna do tht next , and which ones you recommend ??
I would add to be sure to tighten the bolts on each side of the camber arm when the suspension is loaded to set proper tension on the bushings.
Just to make sure if I understand your recommendation, when you said the suspension is loaded you mean the car already with the tires installed and on the ground and then tight the bolts on the camber?
@@momo5757 I think with your version you installed they might have a bearing but with a stock arm or a replacement arm with a bonded bushing you will want to tighten the bolts with the suspension at ride height.
@@MarkJCarruthers Yeah you are right, I didn't do that, because when I finished installing the parts I took it for alignment there they finished adjusting the car to the correct specifications.
It is about rubber bushing getting squeezed in a correct position. You need at least put a jack under the rear brake disk and lift it up. If you do not do that, your rubber bushing will be always in twisted position and will fall apart much sooner that it should be. That is a general rule working on suspension parts. Working on cars requires some general mechanical knowledge. @@momo5757
thank you. please do more is250 videos!
After i installed them and adjusted them to straighten the wheels, my car now loosens up in the rain. Switching lanes and going over small bumps feels like it jerks and not smooth at all. Any suggestions?
@@carlosguerrero358 First if you can help me telling me, which brand did you get for the adjustable rear camber arm?
I just do a video reviewing the Godspeed.
What tool did you used to make the rear wheels straight or you take it to do the alignment? What size and brand of tires do you have in your car?
@momo5757 i got the godspeed arms as well. I took it to my buddy's shop on an alignment machine and we got them as close to 0 as possible. It drives straight. I've currently got the oem size 255 35 18. They are continental control contact i believe. They are a bit wore out and I've got new tires on the way
@@carlosguerrero358 To be honest, When I installed mine, they didn't give me any problems until after six months, I noticed that they were starting to make a clunky noise and they were starting to pull on the side. The one on the right side was completely damaged and the one on the left was a little damaged, so they didn't last long. I changed them for other way better brand and I do another video about the new ones since then I don’t have any problem now. Godspeed are to weak.
Hello! Do you have any issues of running Godspeed Camber Arms? I’m planning to buy it but I heard Megan Racing is a good option too! Thanks for the help
Hello, I don’t have any problems at this moment with the Godspeed, I have it for a year already, I got them because I have a good deal on them, any other brands are good as well like Megan Racing and Figs Engineering, but I don’t abused on my car I drive it normally, so I guess that’s why still are in good shape.
Thank u so much! Do you have an IG lemme follow u?
@@vungoanhnguyen7264 yea I do but still I didn’t upload nothing but I will soon, I have been busy lately, this my IG mauricios_garage, thank you for the support.
Love your videos
How many minutes did you take to complete each wheel?
Each wheel will take like 40 minutes
Do you happen to have a link to the camber arms you used please? :)
Sorry the late reply. I just get it from Amazon
@@momo5757 thank you.
Bro did you car lower down after you installed?
Not at all, stayed the same. But after I install it, I need to do alignment.
does this fix the aggressive inner tire wear?
For sure, I installed the camber as soon I upgrade to 19” wheels this was 11 moths ago and my rear tires are even. I recommend to upgrade the front control arm bushing from Figs Engineering I will fix the same problem at front tires
What torque spec do you tighten the arms to?
To be honest I didn’t torque the camber arm, I don’t have the torque wrench, I just tighten.
How does the alignment shope get to them, Do they remove the tires and balance them then put them back and align them with the tires again ?
When you take it to the alignment, they don’t need to remove the tires, to adjust the camber they have plenty space to work on it.
@@momo5757 Thanks man 🙏🏻
@@iBraheem_3 Your welcome 👍🏻
Hi is this for the IS 250 AWD or RWD?
Is for RWD but if you have AWD will be the same just compare the video and your car and you will see is the same.
The new arm is a bit curved: how do you know if the curve goes up or down?
The original part has that same similar curve, the aftermarket part you can installed in the same position, even on the aftermarket part they don’t give you any installation guide. For sure I can tell you the curve goes down since I installed I do t have any problems and my rear tires they wear out evenly.
@@momo5757 Gracias Mauricio! Do you recommend any brand in particular? I have seen these arms made by different manufacturers...
@@alexnogues4246 the ones I have are generic brand but if you want expend the extra bucks I recommend you to take a look on the website Figs Engineering they have really good parts I found it later that’s why I didn’t purchases because I have these parts already, but on the front I purchase the front bushing they do a great job too if you want the front tires wear out evenly too
@@momo5757 Thanks Mauricio, I did the front bushings last month but I opted for the GS-F ones as the figs are too rigid.
That’s good as soon you feel comfortable wile you are driving, honestly when I do my bushings with Figs I don’t feel any difference.
After you installed did your car fishtail? Before the alignment of corse
After I installed them, I drove in the freeway and there is no type of strange movement before or after the alignment, if you feel that movement the bushings might be defective
@@momo5757 well i installed them, and it drove fine when i left them at stock settings but when i cambered them in. Thats when i had the bad fishtail. I installed some toe arms its better but its still there but that could be due to me not getting an alignment yet.
When you do the alignment, for sure you won’t feel anymore the fishtail y guess I don’t feel that before because when I installed them I went right away to do the alignment
