    They’re great kits! I’ve been building them myself since the mid seventies. I chop the cage, front and rear firewalls, and trim the suspension down a little, just to make them look more like the cars that ran at my local track back then. Now, I’m really hooked on the new Salvino’s modified, from Wes’s Model Car Corner. I can’t buy enough of them! They’re a little bit harder to build, but you’re left with a really awesome car when you’re done.

    I'm finishing up the Pinto version just now, but going for a vintage modified using an AMT 40 two door body cut down with tires from the 66 Fairlane "Super Stocker" kit. I agree this kit looks simple but is great fun to work. Cheers!

    Great video the car looks pretty realistic love the dirt and grime look, I'm just starting out so I'm looking for a lot of tips and tricks and I got that from this video I just finished the 8 ball modified and I'm looking to do all of the dirt modified kits, I love dirt track racing.

      Thanks Mike, hopefully the video helped some. I plan on doing some more "used" vehicles after my current project so hopefully they will give you some ideas on how to do certain things. Thanks for watching!

    sorry to say this again but MPC ranks right up there with Lindberg kits but then again it might be my bad luck with those brands i also failed to mention i have also built a few 1 to 1 scale street rods have you looked into an airbrush the finish is so cool in a model and more to scale you might want to try out an Neo by IWATA you can get a nice one for about 60.00 at MID West airbrush CO. good service and fast shipping .

    • @MyHobbyWorkShop
      @MyHobbyWorkShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man! Yea the MPC wasn’t great. This particular one wasn’t terrible but it’s a reissue so I think it was cleaned up a bit. I’ve done a couple MPCs that were rough. I just got an iwata HP-C plus, just need to buy an air compressor next. I’ve never used an airbrush but always wanted to dive into them. I think it’ll definitely elevate my finishes.

      Did you get the compressor yet, I have two, the standard, and the flat pan cake one (you'll like this one its easier to carry)
      Try Harbor Freight for prices, get one with regulator. Buy a line moisture trap.
      Good luck and watch for paint build up on the airbrush needle (white is bad)
      I did t-shirt's years ago with a Paasche Airbrush VL Double Action Airbrush,.plus a couple of vehicles.

      @@brot5246 I have not but plan on buying it soon because I wanna get back into building. Thank you for the tips because I know nothing about airbrushing I heard there’s a learning curve lol

    Awesome! I new to models, how did you get the dirty look on the white paint, rims and tires?

    • @MyHobbyWorkShop
      @MyHobbyWorkShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used some panel wash from Tamiya and pastels for the dust. You don’t need panel wash though. You can just water down acrylic paint to make your own wash.
