Top video. I think this is even better than Axelsen analysis. Bravo! Zheng and Huang are both complete players, very efficient, and very difficult to nitpick their weakness. You need to play the best game of your life in order to have a chance of beating them. They're also so respectful! What's not to like? And massive respect for those who's been able to challenge them to the limit: Yuta/Arisa and Dechapol/Sapsiree.
Wow, thank you very much! 🤗 Haha, definitely agree about the 'you need to play the best game of your life' - one thing we didn't mention in the video was that when we played them it often felt like we were playing 3 people rather than 2 because there was no space on the court & they were so fast 😂
I noticed Zheng had been winning a lot of points from his smash but didn’t know what is so special about his smash. Now I know after watching your video 👍🏻
Huang and Zheng are my idols. I enjoy watching their games and absolutely love their speed, power and skills. I was heartbroken when they were split up earlier this year. super glad to see they managed to get back together and became even stronger. Your video brought a different way to watch their games and actually get inspired by them. Thank you for this video ! Guess who will go back and re-watch their games this weekend:)
Currently 4 minutes in and had to pause because of how good it has been so far! I was hoping this would be similar to your Viktor Axelsen analysis video and it is looking like it could be even better (which I did not think was possible) 😲 Very excited to watch the rest! P.s. I think Jenny won the accuracy competition 🤩
I have a lot of respect and love for the condensed analysis. The work done studying the numerous games and compiling the data in efficient matter really shows. No wonder why Gill Clark accepted you to join in for the BWF commentaries. This time it makes me don't miss for more content, a perfect balance of lengh and variety of Insights. The quality of the editing and speech is super smooth.
I recently rewatched the semi-final match at the Japan Open with Zheng and Huang and Watanabe and Higashino. Zheng and Huang are an amazing and powerful force, but I always enjoy watching the lightning acrobatics and humility of Watanabe and Higashino.
I've always looked up to this pair, Zheng's speed and Huang's front court skills just make for a deadly combination truly. Didn't think about the other points until you brought them. Great video as always!!
I just rewatched this video again, and it really is amazing. Not just because it's about my favorite doubles pair, but also because it's really informative about the mixed doubles game plays in general. You are also both really likable/talented and clearly care about the sport, so it makes the video more enjoyable. Thanks for your work and good luck in your future tournaments.
The details, the qualities, my goodness, top notch video again!! My fiancée and i are trying to improve our plays, thanks Badminton Insight, big loves from SEA.
So proud to watch you guys play on BWF live, and thank you so so much for making this video. The amount of work including the data, the analysis, and the professional tips is just unbelievable while you guys train at least two sessions a day, and run coaching camps (I'm jealous of those people! want to move to UK now) Great work guys, this is my mixed double bible now.
Hello greg and jenny you might know me on some of your comment’s like 1 month from the past and because of school I can’t really watch your videos often but now im watching your videos and hope you guys remember me and wish you a happy life
Hi Jenny and Greg, love all your videos especially these players analyses! Could we get one for Watanabe/Higashino as one of the other top mixed pairs who have a distinctly different style? A breakdown of their strengths and weaknesses would be super valuable as they have some incredibly identifiable strengths (his flair and vision, speed and unorthodox play which lacks Zheng’s consistency; Arisa’s aggression which comes at the sacrifice of defence - in particular cross court blocks which was highlighted in their recent Japan games against them). Thanks for all your hard in growing this channel! Great to see how far you’ve come from watching you play at BUCS…
This analysis is so helpful! I always knew they were good but now I know why. I find this is a really good follow up video after watching the match analysis template video too
Think a review of their latest match between them and Watanabe/Higashino should be done where the Japanese pair beat them in an absolute titanic clash! EDIT - I spoke too soon and you guys posted a clip of that match! A review would still be nice and it could be titled "How to beat the best" or something!
What timing! I've also watched a lot of their matches lately and this video came at a perfect time! Awesome analysis as always. I was wondering if you both can touch the subjects of their "relentless attacking" playing style and also their physicality? I've watched a video of Zheng Si Wei's body conditioning training and it's insane! A lot of it is focused on training the core so I think that's one of the reason why he's so quick at the court.
Hii Greg and Jenny , just wanted to pop in to say a bigg thank you for your videos. You seriously don't know how helpful they are 🛐💗 ( I have a match in 3 days wish me luck 🤞🏻)
This sort of video is amazing! there's so rarely deep video analysis of badminton pairs and its something that is so so interesting!!! (i love the kinda analysis sky do for football matches , and this reminds me of it!)
This is such an awesome and interesting video! I have always admired the pair--they are my favorite XD pair. I especially look up to Zheng Siwei. He seems like the kind of person who gives everything 110% and never gives up. It was nice to see what makes the pair great, explained so well! BTW, "Zheng" is pronounced like "Jung" in Mandarin, just so you know.
Awesome video guys, many of these things we sub-consciously know... but never actively think about them in games. Great analysis, I will be trying to implement these tips in my game. Keep up the great work!
Hey Greg and Jenny, this is such a great video! You guys are bringing some top quality analysis that this sport desperately needs. Things like error rate, and analysis on serves should definitely be talked about more often. Maybe in the future you can partner with BWF to launch a series that focuses solely on analytics (so you guys don't have to spend 20 hours on looking at footage but someone else can compile the stats for ya)? There's definitely a lot of work that can be done here, will be interested to see players in the past as well like LCW and Lin Dan. Look forward to seeing more analysis from you guys!
Great video! Just to note that the pronuciation of 'Zheng' (as in Zheng Siwei) is not 'Zeng', its 'Jeng' (the names are written in Pinyin and not English which is why people get confused)

Really like that you pointed out that even when the intercept player moves the wrong way, it still actually provides an advantage to the back court player, to signal them where they need to protect. Just illustrates how important it is for the intercept player to be aggressive, and cut the down the options of the player hitting the shuttle.
Hi Greg and Jenny! I've improved my game a lot watching your videos and I have a request. Please make a video on how to avoid injuries and how to recover from one quickly. This would really help a lot because I keep twisting and hurting my ankles all the time.
I am sick and can’t play badminton. Also, I have a lot of exams this month so I was watching your videos. You are still motivating me with badminton and hopefully I can play as soon as possible. Thanks for this video.😊
@@BadmintonInsight if a video can be made of Lin Dan. I see him move effortlessly on court as if he is walking. Also I think he uses wrist more than his arms Would like to know your detailed views. I have never seen a player like Dan

I'd say Jenny's were harder to defend - those 2 that were higher would be very awkward. I suppose you could crouch lower and use a forehand or stand up and use a backhand or may move to the side a little but either way it's trickier to produce a quality return. Although I do think she backed-off the power quite a bit to ensure accuracy 😉 (I'd argue that, assuming you don't hit it out the back, aiming for the ribs/armpit area can be more effective than the hip)
I think Zhang and Huang is arguably the best mixed double pair of all time, feels like they're even better than Zhang Nan/ZhaoYunLei. Would love to see how them play against the prime Liliyana Natsir.
