Was 9:32 in or out? 🧐
Also we’ve had a lot of questions asking which matches we commentated on, they were:
    R16 Delrue/Villeger vs Hoki/Kobayashi
    R16 Kaneko/Matsutomo vs Hee/Tan
    QF Goh/Lai vs Watanabe/Higashino
    QF Marin vs Yamaguchi
If you can’t find them on TH-cam, this means you might need a VPN to watch them - feel free to use our Surfshark deal (83% off and 3 months free!) which also helps to support us and our channel: surfshark.deals/badmintoninsight ☺️

I watched both of you play during Round 2 last week, here in Tokyo. You were great!! I thought I was the only British person (or non-Asian person actually) in my section of the audience, but I heard someone cheering for Greg and turned around to meet eyes with Ben Lane.
During the final I was in the Arena Side. Part of the second floor was reserved for pro players and VIPs to watch. A kind Japanese lady was sat next to me, who lent me her binoculars, which I’m pretty sure I saw the two of you through. As any other completely regular human being would do, I watched you both sitting there perfectly stationary for like 3 straight minutes.

Hi Greg & Jenny, I was actually painting window frames in my living room that I turned into a homemade workshop for the occasion because I didn't want to miss a second of the world championships when the commentator's voice along Gill's sounded very familiar. What a surprise to realise it was Greg and then Jenny! Lovely. You guys are getting more famous than ever, and you should! Many thanks for your work on the channel, I try to implement all of your advices on the court every week, not easy but definitely helpful and... insightful. Keep going, much much appreciated. Great production value on your videos you two. The insight into the sport from professional players is incredibly valuable and on top of that you seem to be very kind and hard working people too. I enjoyed the commentary from you a lot. I believe the best combination is a hype person + a fact person, so you combined really well with the veteran "I don't believe it!"s. Thanka for this vlog Greg and Jenny! I hope Greg gets some rest as he kinda looked tired in some of the shots. Also Jenny looks really fresh on the shot where her hair is just laid back. The 11th seed malaysians look insanely fast from the snips, geez. Looks like you guys enjoyed the trip as well and I agree with the thought at the start regarding the price of the plane ticket. It's hard to put a price on the experience that both of you will gain. Another one is I agree with the goats in this video.

Thanks Jia :) Unfortunately we didn't know we were playing in the World Championships so we didn't think to enter the other tournament in Japan!

@@BadmintonInsight actually when I read some of the comments it makes me wonder , since you all are representing england , why not Her Majesty paying ? And is all sports the same ? I know you have to pay for yourself with Golf , but swimming is all paid for ? I've got an idea about your next video, how and what the financial side of the sports works? From the moment you go training and competition structure etc, just merchandise is definitely not enough for us to support both of you ?

Great vlog. Perhaps you could go into commentating when you decide to retire from pro play. Getting to do your first cast alongside Gill. That's awesome. I might have caught the broadcast and wondered who were the new voices. From your vlogs, I think you'd make good commentators

Honestly, the real GOAT of badminton is Gille Clark. Her voice will stay with us forever.
    I cannot believe it!
How on earth did he get that back?
    😂😂😂

Indonesian players always said that Hendra is kinda a clean freak the first thing he checked after arriving in tournament is a coin laundry. So it's quite high chance to met him in those places (and sometimes with Fajar Alfian too).
And I always curious, the major tournament like world championship doesn't offer prize money. You mentioned that you bought the flight yourself but how about hotel/accommodation? Does it come from your own pocket too or provided by organizers?

    • @BadmintonInsight
      @BadmintonInsight  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Haha! Yes no prize money and we pay out of our own pocket for everything - flights, accommodation etc

Of course you'll find Koh Hendra in a laundry place. Suprised you didn't met Fajar with him though!
