This track was actually composed by Nobuo Uematsu and Noriko Matsueda. Mitsuda fell ill at somepoint during development and Uematsu worked on the rest of the soundtrack.
what if all of a sudden your father turned on you and you became the boss and he unsheathed his combat style and tried eliminating you with a well powered well timed lumenaire in an alt universe
Well you missed out somewhat, Mortal Kombat certainly has a lot going for it, but an RPG vs anything other than an RPG is never going to be a fair contest.
Fun fact: Nobuo Uematsu, who arranged this song (it was one of the tracks Yasunori Mitsuda was unable to finish due to illness, and this track was actually written by Noriko Matsueda but arranged by Uematsu) was part of an ELP tribute band before joining Square in 1986 and composing Final Fantasy games. So you can hear A LOT of ELP influence in his music as a result.
Great upload! But one correction for the description: This specific track was NOT composed by Yasunori Mitsuda, but instead written by Noriko Matsueda and arranged by Nobuo Uematsu. Yasunori Mitsuda got sick during the composition of Chrono Trigger's soundtrack and the final few songs were taken over by Uematsu.
Hi! I'm just here to inform that this specific music was composed by Noriko Matsueda, and arranged by Nobuo Uematsu. It was not composed by Yasunori Mitsuda.

Yes, it was the first time he worked on a project that big and he felt so much pressure that he didn't stop working and that made him sick
I loved a lot the Prision scape boss, literally fighting a fucking tank in a bridge, peak at its finest
And it was a strategic boss fight. Each part of the tank had a function. The game was teaching you to be decisive.
