Hearing a performance so well done, in tribute to a shared life experience that was unique to each player, and somehow broad enough to suit everyone that embarked on that adventure... that is a rare thing! The music brought that world to life while also making deep emotional connections so that you felt welcome in that world. This is such an excellent performance and the cosplay is legit!

I feel sorry for those who haven’t heard this soundtrack. I don’t think there’s another game, even out of the Final Fantasy series that has as many different, iconic and catchy melodies.

The only modern game that comes close is Omori in my opinion. It's whimsical, funny, deeply depressing, intriguing, compelling, and the music fits the artwork beautifully... all the things I loved about 90's RPG like chrono trigger and earthbound.

I only recently learned that playing the organ was not a 1to1 skillset to being able to play piano, ha. Didn't think about it until a jazz pianist friend of mine who also plays organ showed me some stuff. Much props for being incredible.

I've been reading about the project's making of and found out you also wrote the arrangements 😮 How long did it take you to write it? Piano, organ and harpsichord, what a beautiful combination, and btw, loved the technical details about the process of recording and mixing the songs. Frog's Theme and Battle With Magus are easily my favorite tracks in the whole soundtrack. They convey so much intense fantasy vibes in very little. The DS version Magus theme includes evil laughter as well, which is a huge plus. Very good job on both!

RE: theme and variation, this is the best example from any classic Square game. No other game except arguably FFVII has such satisfying use of it. The swell of pipes in To Far Away Times that recalls Memories of Green makes me sob every single time.

It's about doing the right thing but saying goodbye to your friends forever knowing that everyone has a important role to fill throughout history. You both worry and miss them but their marks across time are unmistakable bringing a sense of comfort but loneliness and longing for those days to return. Such melloncoly washes over me every time. Sure we can replay the game, but it's something that must stay the same in the past (and future) at the end. Having both lost a family member and moving across the ocean in the late 90's it hits close to home, but also helped give the courage to move forward. I was miserable and depressed missing my first girlfriend and my friends, having trouble making new connections when this game fell into my lap. This, among many other reasons, is why Chrono Trigger is my favorite video game of all time.
To far away times... That may be an irreplaceable piece. It certainly is, for me, I can't listen without crying, and this is a beautiful rendition. Thank you.

I can't even imagine how much work you and your team put into this, but it really shows. I'm loving the arrangements, your playing of it all perfectly true to the original, the cosplay, the video edits, the sound engineering that brought it all together. If anyone hasn't clicked the links in the vid description, you really should. I especially enjoyed the making of page. I was thinking you were playing some electric organ like a Hammond or something, but this is like a legit full on pipe organ with all of its tuning woes and all. 1:43:03 World Revolution brilliantly weaves in multiple motifs from the rest of the soundtrack, along with some great key changes, and the call and response part, it all adds up to a song that feels like it really tells a whole story without words. Of course, the first time I played that boss, I was so invested in the battle that I didn’t consciously pick up on all of it. And this is why they say one would give anything to play it for the first time again 🥲

Piano, organ and harpsichord, what a beautiful combination, and btw, loved the technical details about the process of recording and mixing the songs.
Everything was recorded with a metronome, this project is surely a work of art.

Frog's Theme and Battle With Magus are easily my favorite tracks in the whole soundtrack. They convey so much intense fantasy vibes in very little. The DS version Magus theme includes evil laughter as well, which is a huge plus. Very good job on both!
The Harpsichord really adds a flare and flavor to the arrangement. Insanely pretty instrument.

Organ sounds really authentic, like in the game, but realizing that now it's a real instrument... all these are real instruments!!! That's just big WOW! Bravo!!!
In some places organ and piano tune doesn't match... I suppose it's cause of temperature... We have the same problem sometimes...

RE: theme and variation, this is the best example from any classic Square game. No other game except arguably FFVII has such satisfying use of it. The swell of pipes in To Far Away Times that recalls Memories of Green makes me sob every single time.
What a concept for a game. Between mario, sonic this game and ff7 is where i truly learned appreciation for music.

It's about doing the right thing but saying goodbye to your friends forever knowing that everyone has a important role to fill throughout history. You both worry and miss them but their marks across time are unmistakable bringing a sense of comfort but loneliness and longing for those days to return.
Such melloncoly washes over me every time. Sure we can replay the game, but it's something that must stay the same in the past (and future) at the end.
Having both lost a family member and moving across the ocean in the late 90's it hits close to home, but also helped give the courage to move forward. I was miserable and depressed missing my first girlfriend and my friends, having trouble making new connections when this game fell into my lap. This, among many other reasons, is why Chrono Trigger is my favorite video game of all time.
To far away times... That may be an irreplaceable piece. It certainly is, for me, I can't listen without crying, and this is a beautiful rendition. Thank you.

Absolutely incredible Kara! I listened to a lot of these individually as you posted them and really love to see the finished product of them all coming together. I can't even imagine how much work you and your team put into this, but it really shows. ゲームをスタートしてから終わるまでの流れに沿ってすべての曲を演奏してくださったんだと思います。
ゲームをしてから30年近くの時が流れ、当時小さかった娘が結婚し、昨年孫を産みました。
そんなに時間が過ぎているのに、8割以上の曲を覚えていて、その時の状況が目に浮かんできます。
オーケストラバージョンも良いですが、皆さんの演奏は当時の原音に近い気がしますね。

1:43:03 World Revolution brilliantly weaves in multiple motifs from the rest of the soundtrack, along with some great key changes, and the call and response part, it all adds up to a song that feels like it really tells a whole story without words. Of course, the first time I played that boss, I was so invested in the battle that I didn’t consciously pick up on all of it. And this is why they say one would give anything to play it for the first time again 🥲
