Frani, you mentioned that FG and SG wear 80% same things. Can you please make a video or blog post (with pictures) about 20% that is different between these types? i.e. what would flatter FG specifically and SG specifically, that would be so helpful! Thanks!!!!
Some of my favorite necklines to wear as a soft gamine are sweetheart, square, boatneck. I definitely wear sweetheart necklines and puff sleeves when I want to look a little more feminine. I also love to wear fit and flare or skater dresses. I prefer for the base of a dress to be a dark color with a floral print and I like to pair combat boot or ankle boots with dresses.
Yes!! So much SG goodness there! I've always shied away from square necklines because I've got a curvy bust line and soft upper arms that I don't particularly like drawing attention to, but I totally see how they could be great for other soft gams!
can you explain a bit more how/why this works for SG? I am SG and i've realized that i feel like I look much better in open neckline such as the ones you mentioned, and turtlenecks. I heard that higher neckliner are supposed to look better for SG, but I never feel confident in a crew neck.
I’m a soft gamine and I loved this! A MUST try is high waistlines, even a defined one on a dress, and tailored clothes. Everything should fit - sleeves and hems
Your description of soft gamine's sassy punchiness is spot on 👍 sweet but not girly. One thing I've noticed in my SG life is that ruffles must be used super sparingly, even though they seem like a good idea. They can get too yin too quick. I'm a fan of fit and flare silhouettes, and flowy skirts with tighter tops with rounded or boat necklines. My favorite ways to emphasize my yang are a leather belt and denim jackets paired with flowiness.
You make me so proud to be a flamboyant gamine! I feel when people say flamboyant gamine its not usually positive because of the “little girl” “spunky” look I never felt womanly. Kibbe has shown me why certain things just dont work with my body type. You are so informative and I really love your videos. Thank you
Honestly same. I am not lush . so, i never felt womanly rather felt girly. i have the most yin in the face, rounded shoulders (lil wide), my height (5 2') and my delicate hands. i have yang in my long limbs and almost rectangle or 🔻shape. Because of my face, I can still wear soft gamine and also some soft natural outfits
Still figuring out my Kibbe type, but I just want to say I really resonate with your outlook on Kibbe and how you recommend using it as a tool. As someone who came from a sheltered, conservative background as well I appreciate the emphasis on giving yourself space within your type to explore. Wishing you healing and happiness and love. And also I think you're baller, keep it up!
Such a great video!! I think the biggest thing I notice between what looks good on flam gam vs soft gam is the level of delicate-ness. Either in the fabric or in the details like construction or pattern. FG in my experience needs more weight and substance. 🤗
I’m still last as to whether I’m a flam gam or soft gam. I always think I must be flamboyant because I’m so square, have long legs, wide shoulders, but I’m soooo short that I never know. I think my essence leans softer than my body.
I think one way to test can be to picture yourself with an asymmetrical angular bob. That style looks great on flam gams! It doesn’t work quite as well for other types. On the other hand, Soft gamines look great with soft bobs or shoulder length soft hair.
Thank you Frani. When I was younger I was definitely a FG. Now I may be right in the middle! My body shape is very rectangular. I now need to draw away from my middle, because it’s thicker than ever. I really appreciate your mention of comfort level and conditioning for short dress, shorts and cropped tops. At my senior age (64), I definitely need to adjust for the lines AND the cultural norms! Love your demeanor and framing of style.
when you started talking about contrasting pure yin with pure yang garments, I knew this was my body type. this is exactly what I've been doing subconsciously my whole life
I have such a hard time differentiating if I’m FG or SG. I’ve gained some weight recently, but I can’t tell if it’s made me more “yin.” At the end of the day, I definitely feel more at home in FG lines, but tbh if pure gamine was still an option, I’d consider myself that too 🤷🏽
@@superbettynow yes, maybe this is further evidence of being "mixed". Maybe it is just a subtle leaning one way or the other, and seems more yin/yang depending on what is being emphasized/visible in a given outfit. Maybe it doesn't really make or break anything as long as you accept being mixed? "Honoring our Gaminity" 😉
Honestly same. @@Weeping_lover I'm the exact opposite, I have lush hips and curved torso but sharp shoulders and a lot of angularity in the face. Also I'm a little taller for Gamine (5'4"). I think my face and shoulders would look better with more angular, sharp lines but they don't work with my curved body :D It's so confusing!
@@linibellini oh i see, you can try pairing boxy tops with feminine delicate bottoms .it would look good i guess, then if you are a FG or SG , depending on that, you can add a lil yang element to the look .. Hey Frani, I hope you're doing well! I only just found your channel (I also only recently found out about and started digging into Kibbe and similar systems) and I'm loving it so far. I just wanted to say...when you shared what you did about your upbringing affecting what you feel/felt comfortable wearing in terms of Gamine styles, I almost cried. I've felt that way for so long for the same reason. I still struggle some with wearing what I know compliments my frame, despite it going against my upbringing (and other comments from not-so-well-meaning people around me). I know my fiancee feels similarly, likely my twin sister as well. 🫂 I don't know where you are on your journey of coping with such experiences, but I wish you all the best with it and am excited for what the future holds for you. Thank you so much for imparting your experience, and I look forward to watching more of your content and being here and whatnot! Sending my best to you 💖

Love your videos for FG!:) Recently discovery that for FG better works ligter colors on top, darker for botoms, 'cause it helps bring energy up. Just an idea for exploring ;)
That always seemed to work for me. The idea of a white pant with a navy blouse for example was very strange but a powder pink blouse with black pants was like icing on the cake :)
@@starlightwhispers6781 in order not to throw away old ligter colors pants or skirts I try to pare them with dark shoes It gives a bit edgy look, brakes the line and keeps the energy in my mind :)
i really love your aura here! you’re really one beautiful woman! i really wished the kibbe system could take me closer to myself than otherwise. i really find myself home with the gamine arena, I’m really drawn to dress myself in gamine lines ever since, but it’s been, close to taboo due to my size. ive battled obesity for a large portion of my life, and i always had to resort to practical, oversized pieces over style or fashion for that reason. im still overweight, and i still feel im too big, wide and fleshy to be a gamine, except that im 5’2. it’s easy to type me as a romantic but i swear the romantic line is too glamorous and lightweight for me, but i still couldn’t tell if it’s all these buildup of fat that’s obscuring things. my kibbe journey have gone all the way from SN to R and everything in between, and it’s frustrating and ambiguous still. im just afraid im giving myself false interpretations.
I like your sense of style. However I don't think that soft gamines are necessarily extra tiny compared to flamboyant gamines. Having more curve creates more width especially if its in the hips. Any woman who is petite and small boned but curvy (upper or lower body, or both) could be a soft gamine, unless she is extremely curvy in which case she would be a romantic. Anyway that's my definition and I'm sticking with it.
I think it's possible to be in the middle of the spectrum or a pure gamine (not leaning soft or flamboyant) if thats what you mean. Classics and gamines have two different bone structures though.

Knotting a t-shirt is one of my fave tricks to make a regular crew neck more flattering. I didn’t realize it was a rec for soft gamine!
