I just started watching and already love this. I had to pop into the comments because I mistakenly typed myself as a soft classic when I first discovered kibbe and now that I understand it better (and got help from you 🤗) what’s helped me to differentiate between the two is to think of salad vs a blended soup. Both have tomatoes, carrots etc but the soft classic has been blended so you can no longer pick out the carrots and tomatoes but FG hasn’t so you can clearly see each carrot, tomato and so on. Once I started to see my carrots and tomatoes so to speak (hahaha) it all clicked. I just love your videos so much. Now back to watching ❤️❤️

Audrey, are you a soft gamine? I was surprised when I saw the vid in which you typed as a SC because I didn’t realize how petite you were and saw a little bit of yang.

@@peggy-sue-reads-a-book hi! I’m a flamboyant gamine :) but all gamine recommendations work to some extent for me and it’s been so eye opening for me! It all makes so much sense now and truly understanding my yang was such a light bulb moment that has transformed my style journey 🤗

Hi Frani. I think what is more important than what you are wearing is that you look and must feel more stifled in your first look. In the 2nd look you look much more in your skin. Your personality is shining through and your gorgeous smile makes you look so happy and at home.

As a soft classic myself, I have to say this video was enlightening. Yes, I wouldn’t choose a washed or ripped jean, neither a bag with a knot, everything must look even and sleek. I don’t know how to describe this, but if there’s some sort of a disharmonious esthetics into it, it’s not my taste. About sneakers, well I don’t use them either, I prefer oxford shoes instead
You’re a true gamine! even if you look great on both, I prefer your gamine version, because you look like « muted »in the other one. That same look but with white pants would look awesome on you
Thank you Frani, I always learn something from your videos. ☺️

Soft classic is here who desparetely wants to be a gamine) I love bold, fun and youthfull energy of gamines, but cannot pull it off myself. I've never been complimented wearing mustard-yellow polkadot short dress, but whenever I put on long brown skirt and sage-green turtleneck everybody says how graceful and from another century I am. So I borrow from gamines as much as I can and try to adopt it to my easyly overwhelmed type.

Discovered you through Audrey Coyne, love your channel! I heard another TH-camr who does Kibbe content say that classic lines don't really look that bad on anyone--that's why they're classic! That said, it was amazing how even when you jus put the bag across your body, what a difference that made, & how much better the outfit looked! All the changes were improvements. (But as a SC--thank you for a great outfit idea!)😄

I really liked the SC outfit! It’s basically what I wore to work today… but it’s interesting to think of it from an energy perspective. I have a friend who is constantly like “how are you wearing a dress hiking” or “how do you keep your shoes white” and it’s weird to think your body frame would have to do with your energy? But I fit everything you said about soft classics being somewhat (physically) subdued. Lots to think about.

I loved your gamine vs classic tip. I struggled a lot with that distinction, especially because of my softness. What made up my mind for soft gamine was when I worked in a salon and got a side shave and the asymmetry just looked *so* good! Also my essence is way more gamine haha.
The outfits are lovely! Both of them look good, as you said, but you definitely look brighter and more comfortable in the gamine-ified look. 💛

    Hi! I’m a soft classic.
I find it difficult to dress as one because I have a very causal lifestyle at the moment, being a stay at home mum during the day, & work part time at night.
Simplicity is awesome during summer, as you would know, less is more for a soft classic.. however, in winter I feel, is another story.
It’s cold 🥶 and it’s easy to start looking bulky when pulling on layers.
Thin knitwear isn’t warm enough, & chunky knitwear is a No Go.
I find it quite difficult when going shopping as most cater for gamine, flamboyant, romantic & naturals here in NZ

Any ID can wear anything. SC is balanced with curve which means adding curve to a structured or flow outfits. If they wear a dress or skirt it should bring balance of the line to include the curve. They can wear large print, big earrings etc....as long as it follows their line. Like the shirt you are wearing, it's cut for Someone with width and vertical, FN. It looks good on you, although it looks a bit big on you. You've tucked it into jeans, and I think it works well.
I still see either D or DC for you. I'm more drawn to D. I see long lines look better on you. You have alot of vertical from face to bottom.
I feel you can pull off a long neat vertical sleek look!
FG, as you said, need clothes to fit their body. This also true for D's, they just don't add petite. I think you have more yang (vertical). Also, your style is more D to me.

    • @franibeard
      @franibeard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Thanks for your insight, Sophie. Much of what you’re pointing out is true, and that’s what makes me more yang dominant. I definitely have a lot of verticality in my frame (my nose, arms, and legs especially), but I also have petite (which is more obvious in person). I take a lot of notes from dramatic types bc I carry a similar need for structure in my frame. But the biggest difference is how I need a broken vertical line to feel like my look is harmonious. Would love to hear more of your thoughts, bc discussions like these are so helpful!

I feel like , my face is yin and yang , my neck is short and wide so I’m not sure , my shoulders are kinda manly I guess , they’re straight horizontal , then my bust is small and I don’t look good in deep v necks or round open collars , I look better in high necks but not turtle necks . I look better in horizontal looking tops than I do anything round . Crop tops are my favorite thing ever if they land in the right spot . I’m so small up top I have a petite upper torso where my waist lands feels much higher than it should be . But I’m kinda Manly tho below that …I have a muscular lower tummy and I build muscle there and my arms easily but not my legs . My legs are muscular but flabby and my thighs are the worst ! and THEN I have wide low hips long calves that are kinda big like my dad , I hate my wide ankles . I am 5 foot 4 I have a large head for my body tho . I have no idea what I am . I feel like I might be FG but idk
