@odynhros i used the peak level of the kick to automate low cut amount on the eq on the bass. 1. add a peak controler on the kick track (turn off mute on the peak ctrl), add a peq on the bass track. 2. set peak controler's base value to 50%, and volume to max, add tension to max out the peak meter on the peak controller 3. link the amout (volume) control on the peq low band to peak controller (peak only) and set mapping formula to 1-Input
You can also select 'Inverted' from the pull down menu when linking the EQ with the Peak Controller and setting the Base Knob at 50%. Don't know if there is a difference between this and the formula you say. Will keep watching your tut.
@reactor4music yeah my bass lines don't seem to pack as much punch as some of the big names in psytrance. I know what u mean about finding a sound you like. Even that is sometimes is a chore in its own right. the biggest problems i have is finding a punchy tight bass whilst retaining the sub bass frequencies. i can normally get the right frequencies for a specified not range, usually g-c. but i love f! how frustrating. i'd like to giv ur method a go if poss... cheers
@Tuckerr03 Im not being arrogant at all.Basslines have always been my biggest probelm and neither im being judgemental upon your music or anything related to it.I spent years looking for the best sound i could possibly reach in terms of quality but as much time i spent trying to find the right sound i realized that the best sound you could possibly reach is the one you like the most and not the one you try to match with professional psy producers.Im willling to share my bass synthesis and EQ w/u
@Tuckerr03 Sure, just inbox your e-mail,ill send you the synthesis and the EQ state.Though you might need to look for a plugin i use which is called BAXXPANDER.. just google it.The excat freq for F1 is 87.31,F2 is 174.72,F3 is 349.44 and so on multiplied by 2.. but thats what you shall apply to the EQ.Youll understand better when you see the EQ.
hey guys im new to production, can some1 say me what are the essential vst, and other things like sample packs, etc... for making psy trance . thanks in advance
I didnt finish that at all. It stayed the way it is in the tutorial. There will be an album this or the next year i dont know yet, currently im more concentrated on my college. :P
u r also not following the theory of the notes = freqs. Ex.- G=110-220-440-880 and so on.. Freq=note x 2 N/12 and compression as well.. msg me ur email so i can share some studff with u to help u improve.. =)
Very very well made tutorial. It's simple and easy to follow while still getting technical. :) Thanks.

i like this sidechain method as opposed to using a limiter, not to see if its still valid in fl10.5+
i realy like the kick and the hi hats thank u im using them alot
pretty nice, you're a good teacher

Nice keep it real... do you use anything in the master channel?
@reactor4music
but it does sound kickass :)
isnt that what counts? :D
i don't understand what you did at the beginning where in the mixer you have kick in 1 bass in 3 etc. what did you do????
@Tuckerr03 id dare to afirm that your biggest pain when it comes to making psytrance is the bassline isnt it?

Ive added a link to the .flp file in the description for you
O_O Well this is something that never struck my mind. Nice! It works 2 :) Thnx
well you eq it as u see fit, usually i spend an half an hour to an hour just to set up the bass :)
not a bad tutorial but there are some bad frequencies (odd harmonics) that give the sound a woofy sound... I would eq those out with notch eq.
OMG!!
thx man
great toturial
URL DOES NOT WORK!!!
По русски! Спасибо большое! классный урок!
