Dang, I'm impressed. When I saw this video in my recommendations, I just HAD to click on it. How on earth are you going to play a fast song like Heartwork on a piano! Well, you did it. Bravo! 👏
Wow, my jaw just dropped! I'm an aging metalhead and watched the video of this song regularly on MTV during the 90s, but I never thought I'd hear a flawless piano cover of it one day. This is top notch musicianship and creativity, you just made my day. Congrats from the heart!
This is amazing. I love Heartwork and think it's one of the best death metal albums of all time. This arrangement and performance is incredible. Well done!
The original was a revelation when I first heard it way back in the 90s, this just brings another layer that truly opens up the brilliance of the song, amazing

Halfway through the video I was ready to comment "Incredible work!" and then the part at 2:40 hit, and now I simply don't even have the words to describe how impressive this is. PLEASE do more Carcass! I've never appreciated their compositions more than I am now, and I'm loving your interpretation and beastly playing as well!
Stumbled upon your video listening to Carcass. This is AMAZING. I don't ever play/listen to piano but i know that it takes extreme talent to play something like this. You kick ass. And you also showcased the beauty of this band very well
There are some really spectacular bands that utilize piano very well, especially in the Doom metal subgenre. If you don't already know Opeth absolutely check them out, and Ghost Brigade is in a similar vein. Proper doomer music tho so be ready for a sad afternoon lol, but very musically talented. Atmospheric Black Metal occasionally has some nice piano believe it or not too
Watching this very heavy metal music played on piano, see the concentration on her face, then that bright smile at the end.... Ah, it made my day. Well done, Catherine. Well done.
My God that was amazing! I'm just blown away. Forget the talent that goes into playing something like this, or the patience that went into transcribing Heartwork, think of the stamina it takes to play this entire piece. My forearms started to cramp just watching her. Standing ovation! Bravo!
The Swansong album is full of potential covers I would love to hear from you. This clarifies how well composed Carcass has always been. Somehow I didn't look after the distortion and the drumsound from heav... hell. Keep going :)
This is absolutely astonishing. As others have stated, Heartwork is one of the very best death metal albums ever made, and the title track is a masterpiece unto itself. I have to admit, I was quite skeptical when I clicked to watch this video, not able to imagine how raging buzzsaw guitars could translate to classical piano. Turns out that I just didn't have enough imagination. This is a stunning performance that perfectly captures and translates the original. And, again echoing other comments, it shows the inherent link between classical and metal. A beautiful piece of music and a flawless performance. Instant Sub, and I'd love to see more metal covers in this style. You are supremely talented. 🙂
Beautiful, thank you! I've been listening to this album since it came out, and I appreciate lots of different music, but your rendition here makes me even more impressed with the original. Wow.
We would play this while riding around the town. My friend had the bass turned up so it was sometimes hard to separate the instruments and what they were doing. Hearing this being played on the piano exemplifies the genius of Carcass's music.
Heartwork is my favorite album by them. Every song a masterwork of metal perfection. Interesting to live in an age where people do this kind of thing. It serves to validate, and vindicate a much maligned form of music. Demonstrating the intricacies, and true complexities in songs such as these. I'd love to hear you do something off of the album Dreamweaver, by Sabbat. A most beautiful album. Heavy. Deep. A masterwork of poetry in metal form. Based on the book, The way of Wyrd. If you like metal, I think you'd like that album.
Congratulations Catherine that look really difficult and you translated and played it excellently. A haunting rendition. It sounds amazing on piano. Thank you 🤘
What a wonderful rendition - all the notes in all the right places! Please could you do 'This Mortal Coil'? Astonishing - I hope Carcass are watching this!
