Amazing playing, inspires us all to learn these guitar parts, i always compared Carcass rhythm guitar playing to Megadeth, if Dave Mustaine fronted a death metal band it would sound like carcass, dont know it anyone agrees, anyway amazing the respect you show carcass.
Ohhhh yes! 😎👍 I swear, up until a few months ago I'd never heard of them til the occasional tune by Carcass appeared on a Facebook page. "Embodiment" and "Unfit for human consumption" was my initiation, they're very good, this video compilation is awesome! 🤘🏾🔊🎸🥁😎👍
The GREATEST CARCASS guitar cover EVER. YOU SIR Are my new CARCASS hero. The HUNDREDS of hours that went into learning all these riffs And HRS and hrs into recording for this video..the editing...oyevai. Bravo sir! 5 out of 5 💀 ☠️ 💀 ☠️ 💀
@@Leave_The_Hall_69 You surely mean "connection", right? Because the OP comment IS a correlation between those two albums. ;) But I don't think there is a direct connection between them other than that correlation of coming out close to each other.
I love everything that Carcass ever made, but Necroticism always makes me experience the same feelings from when I first listened to it. By far my favourite Carcass album and one of the best metal albums ever \m/
This is incredible. Bill Steer is such an amazing guitarist. He has also played in two hard rock bands (Firebird and Gentlemen's Pistols) and you easily hear his distinctive style of playing. Phenomenal work man!
And Bill is a really nice dude. Met Daniel and Bill the last time Carcass came through. Made my day for sure. Had a record and a CD with me and Bill took it on the tour bus and the whole band signed my record and CD even though they hadn't woken up yet. Effing cool band been a fan since I first heard them around 93ish
He is great, and he's done some amazing stuff. But I feel like maybe he's getting a bit tired of it all. I saw carcass a few months ago, and Bill just seemed to be having a jam rather than playing a gig. It was kind of all over the place and ... I don't know. The whole band felt like that. As a fan for a very long time, I didn't mind, because the vibe was very fun. But I would love to have seen this band when they were a lot younger.
Man, this brings me so much joy. Really great video. I really appreciate this considering the world is going to shit. Thank you so much. More Carcass please!
Brother, this is amazing - I haven't heard anyone else come as close to the tone and feel of the actual recordings. You have a new sub! One question; are you using pedals and and amp, or straight DI with IRs & distortion etc in DAW, or an effects unit like Axe FX or Quad cortex? Cheers.
DESCANTING back in 1992-93 was a game changer for me. All the way up in Ketchikan, Alaska...I had this playing in my sony cassette walkman. Alo g with Death Human. Badass video
Swansong is an album that coming back to it years later, especially after having seen carcass live, and heard those songs live, I understand it a lot better now. I think the big issue at the time was that people took carcass way too seriously when even the band didn't take it that seriously. They're up there having fun. They wrote those lyrics because they were fun. Even when they were riding about revolting things, it was all about being a bit cheeky and poking fun. There was a sense of humour throughout all their lyrics and music that was showing that. But I think a lot of fans took it at face value and when Swansong came out, They were thrown for a loop. But listening to it in hindsight, I can see how it still got the same cheekiness about it. It is still poking fun and having a good time. And seeing those songs live really shows it. It's not my favourite album, by far. But I enjoy it heaps more now.
Great list, and great interpretations! You hit nearly every riff that I felt should be on a 'best of' for Carcass, and a good mix of old and new. Very happy to see "Blind Bleeding the Blind" and "Black Star" on there.
Mate Bill would be proud. 100%
Thanks!!
This is 25 Consecutive Fatalities
That would be a killer name for a death metal band.
The "Black Star" riff has always been one of my Carcass' favourite riffs due to its tasty groove.
And it gave rise to a pretty cool single album side project of the same name and following that same musical interest
The transition between "this is your life" and "unfit for human consumption" caught me off guard. Well played.
thanks!
You nailed that thick sludgy tone!
what was cool was hearing a modern sound with some of the older riffs. really made them pop.
Wow man, this is perfection... technique and sound, the correct feel, it's all there. Great.
Thanks!
I could watch this all day
you should ;)
10:10 Best solo of all time

Yes
maybe i'll do a part 2
This guitar tone is awesome! How do you make that sound so clean?
Pedigree Butchery, Embodiment and Incarnated Solvent Abuse are best Carcass tracks ever :-)
The Sound of Lancashire! - Thundering tunes that could be the name of Grand National Horses!
Fantastic!! I've always loved Carcass since I discovered them! They are in C standard or drop C?

Bill Steer is the best death guitarist. No one is that tasteful and elaborated, is like an Adrian Smith or Glenn Tipton death metal version
Carcass is underrated, imo, like the album Necroticism - Descanting The Insalubrious, is perfection
Hard to believe Heartwork came out only 2 years after Metallica released The Black Album. Carcass were so ahead of their time!
Does Heartwork have any correlation to the Black Album?
Funny you mention Metallica, this is the type of level of playing Megadeth should have followed up R.I.P with, just my opinion, anyway amazing album.
Say what you want. This band is in the same league as far as I'm concerned!
@@Leave_The_Hall_69 You surely mean "connection", right? Because the OP comment IS a correlation between those two albums. ;) But I don't think there is a direct connection between them other than that correlation of coming out close to each other.
@@UberNoodle I meant what I said. Shut up
Carcass has a sound that is distinctly theirs, and to see these riffs put together like this, it's just awesome. Been a fan from the beginning.
thanks!
the best carcass riff is from necroticism, from 00:00 to 48:03. the album is a riff machine with some speeches in between
I love everything that Carcass ever made, but Necroticism always makes me experience the same feelings from when I first listened to it. By far my favourite Carcass album and one of the best metal albums ever \m/
This is the best video to introducing to Carcass!!
Great playing and you have chosen the tastiest of riffs! Embodient alone has a number of them!
Thanks!

I'm curious what the source is as well, amps vs plugins, etc. Tone is great (as is the playing)
Best video on TH-cam
they do not get the credit they deserve, great job man - necroticism is a genre altering album imo.
thanks!
That's my favorite from them.
YESSSSSSSS . Carcass is a top 4 all time favorite band. Someone needs to do 25 best Carcass Drum Parts. Ken Owen is massively under appreciated.

Swan Song gets so much hate, but the riffs are killer. Thanks for great playing dude! 🤘🏻🇨🇦
