But not as close as Extract beauty and sincronisnm form from pure caos, That's Death Metal (and that is our life lol ) Few realize how powerfull and clever is Death Metal.
A true visionary, another savant gone far too soon. I'd absolutely love to hear the entirety of 'Human' as a classical piece. That album is absolutely flawless in my opinion, and features the greatest collective of talent on an album, regardless of genre.
I sometimes hear that the brilliant classical compositors -- Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Paganini, Vivaldi, Wagner, and so on -- wrote music what would be the heavy metal of their times, just with the instruments that were available before electricity. Videos like this one prove this point in an astonishing way.
The sign of a well written piece of music is that it transfers well between any medium / instrument, and genres. Chuck Schuldiner was among those genius songwriters
So if that beautiful choral piece loses something when transferred to kalimba, does that mean it's not well-written? I think the criteria is that a well-written piece of music sounds good on whatever instrument(s) it was written for and everything else is a bonus.
Havent listened to death in more than 7 years it was a part of my smooth journey to become a massive prog fan this is actually very nostalgic to me thanks gods of the algorithm
She looks like she's in a thirty-something to forty-something bracket to me, so unless you're 70... but hey, that would mean I'm also a strapping young lad, so I'm not complaining.
I was never a big fan of Death in the 80/90, and now thanks to your interpretations, I went back at 57 to rediscover this band and finding out that I really enjoy them ! THX !!
Testament what musical genius Chuck was. Also your ingenuity, effort and knowledge to transcribe it, arrange it and finally play it, wow! I forgot how haunting piano can sound.
People who don't know and think that metal is just a bunch of noise don't realize that most people like Beethoven, Bach, Paganini if alive today would most assuredly be in metal bands imo. And this shows Chucks amazingly skillful and complex songwriting....and BTW great job this is beautiful🤘🤘
I was just about to reply that it was sad that Chuck didn't get to hear this. This is a beautiful rendition and really showcases the heights Death's music can go.
Chuck was a master at all levels, he truly loved imparting a feeling of being inside the songs through his music that most musicians can only dream of being remembered for. This is beautiful, Chuck was an inspiration, and he is missed so badly by so many. RIP my friend😢.
finally a piano cover that's not just "metal on the piano", but actual quality piano music... great arrangement and impecable performance! very tasteful. I wish you had albums with this stuff on Spotify
true, but i feel this is somewhat of a testament to the writing of chuck. Its well known that a lot of death pieces transfer well to acoustic and what not so i assume the same is true for other non-distorted pitch instruments
Well, Death at piano sounds even brutal. The whole vibe is like you really playing some classic piece, not metal, but YES - that’s why we love DEATH. And, the performance is outstanding!
This brings tears of joy to my eyes. I used to listen to this on my headphones before anyone realized this was a cult classic in our midst. Thank you for showing us what an amazing piece of music it really is.
Thank you for this amazing transportation of the amazing song to this amazing instrument....chuck is on top of musicality....a riff God. Please make septicflesh cover Lovecraft death song....or Persepolis.... Greetings from Hellas
I haven’t listened to Death in years. In one of the bands I played in years ago, we covered Spirit Crusher and Misanthrope. Your cover of this song is incredible, and sounds absolutely magnificent on piano. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Chuck, genio recordado eternamente por su música.Escucharla y verla interpretada con el piano...maravilloso...de lujo.A esta mujer ...gracias y felicidades!!Bravo!!
Very well transcriped, arranged and performed. Felt the emotion in the playing, can hear the excellent song writing on a different instrument. You hit all the notes just right. Thanks for continuing to do these. It's a joy to watch these songs we've all enjoyed over the years performed so well.
listened to this in the car, and sang the lyrics as it was the original song. The timings, the structures, all were matching. A magnificent work! Maybe I try to record my vocals at some point.
I love what you did here. Arranging the different riffs and melodies to the piano and "scoring" the chord structure and harmonies. That really made me appreciate this composition for its genius even more. Great work cheers
Chuck would be very proud of this interpretation if he had the chance to hear it. Thank you for this wonderful piece and for your creative, music-driven mind. Subbed. \m/
You shoot straight at my heart now! IMO this is one of the most beautiful songs in death metal scene! I love this and you really read my mind! Thank you for this gift! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Just an amazing renditon and performance! Wonderful! This song brings me back 20 years to when i first started listening to the more the darker music. This song was an instant favorite of mine. So much going on here that first might pass the untrained ear by.
🤯 Mind officially blown! I'm still trying to wrap my head around an amazing classic metal song, by one of the greatest metal bands of all time, turned into something so damn beautiful. Been a metal head pretty much since metal got started but I also really like classical music, and if I had never heard Death and heard this, I would have thought it another amazing piece of work by an amazing composer. The beauty is, I would have been right, without even knowing why. 😉
What a beautiful work. TH-cam sometimes surprises us with such valuable things, in this sea and in this hellish cacophony that is the modern world. Greetings from Brazil.
Really paints the song in a different light. There are a lot of different moods coming out and there's a lot of interesting contrasts between really open sections, kind of mystical sounding asides that break in, and more technical parts that punch hard. I really enjoyed this!
This piano cover has made me appreciate Chuck's writing even more.
Me too, so beautiful

Inside crystal mountain, classical music takes its form...
Inside crystal mountain, classic music is reborn

Classical is the only musical period before modern music.
Death with Chuck is already classical music.
This is here is just a cover without the fancy instruments
it would be soo friggin cool to see 4 pianos+drums playing death
Chuck we miss your genius riffs and compositions
the GOAT of metal
@@m00nkiid Yup
I was always a fan of Dismember, Obituary, etc, but it's news to me that Chuck's music was so.. I don't know, harmonically beautilful.
Did he die of AIDS?
Chuck would be honored and very happy to see this spectable! Long live the memory of Chuck Schuldiner!
Out of any artist I can agree with you with certainty. He would have definitely appreciated this interpretation.

I am so glad current (2024) listeners get to hear Chuck's music. I cried when he passed in 2001.
A true visionary, another savant gone far too soon. I'd absolutely love to hear the entirety of 'Human' as a classical piece. That album is absolutely flawless in my opinion, and features the greatest collective of talent on an album, regardless of genre.
I have to admit getting a tad misty for a second near the end of this.

I'm 19 and Death is one of my favorite bands

Absolutely!! Chopin’s 2nd piano sonata in Bb Minor is like a heavy metal blueprint.
Or Chuck was as brilil as the ones you mentioned but born in times of distorted guitars ;)
I so agree. I learned on piano first and then went on to guitar and she plays very much more than good
Beethoven was so metal hw went deaf
How could you forget to list Bach? Essentially the forefather of metal.
WHAT THE... 🤯 I never expected a death metal song to sound THIS GOOD on piano! 🔥
it never was Death Metal, it always was pure art
@@beenderedonedat It was Death Metal on Scream Bloody Gore and Leprosy. Spiritual Healing is where it started to turn into something else.
The sign of a well written piece of music is that it transfers well between any medium / instrument, and genres. Chuck Schuldiner was among those genius songwriters
100% this
I agree. I always thought tools music transfers very well also.
Guitar and piano are absolutely compatible, nothing special here, but Chuck was a genius for sure.
So if that beautiful choral piece loses something when transferred to kalimba, does that mean it's not well-written? I think the criteria is that a well-written piece of music sounds good on whatever instrument(s) it was written for and everything else is a bonus.
