Have you heard him perform "Mary had a Little Lamb" ? He turns a nursery rhyme into the coolest song, especially the keyboard performance of Reese Wyans, you will love it!

So very happy to see a very young lady recognize incredible guitar talent, and that sultry voice, too. I introduced my Granddaughter to Stevie when she was 12, now at barely 14, the awareness grows. I was 14 when I first heard Jimi do Voodoo Chile. Mind blowing. Heariing SRV do it, mind blown again. Surprising if neither of you ever heard Cold Shot, or saw the MTV video. It's pretty funny. Btw, I'm just crazy about that brown shirt, the way it shines looks great on him. So glad to have it in my memory bank. RIP, King SRV, 🎸👽. ☮️to all.

Stevie Ray is the GOAT and Double Trouble is 🔥🔥🔥 I saw Stevie Ray and Double Trouble (after they added Reese Wynans to the lineup) back in 1987 in Daytona Beach and it ranks as one of the top 5 concerts that I have ever been to and I have been to A LOT of concerts. 😂✌️

I wish we were alive to see SRV, but we were too young. Taken way too soon

Maybe the goat of his genre, but there are many different genres.

That was a fantastic concert! SRV, Chris, Tommy, Reese, and the audience were having a blast! Catch the dancing Stevie did (on "Lovestruck Struck Baby," for example)!

The Guitar Stevie is playing is his beloved Stratocaster that was known as "Number 1" or "First Wife". It was a beat up old '63 Strat but it spoke to him & he loved how that guitar sounded so his guitar tech Rene basically kept the thing held together with bailing wire , duct tape & whatever pieces they needed to keep her in playing condition . After Stevie passed the guitar was passed on to his Big Brother Jimmie . It's quite a famous guitar in it's own right just like Jimi Hendrix white Fender Strat or Jimmy Page's Double Neck Gibson . Here's a Brief History of #1 >>> Number One, Stevie Ray Vaughan's legendary guitar, has an interesting story. It’s an American Stratocaster with pickups from '59, a '62 neck, and a '63 body. And man, it's seen some wear. You've got a worn finish, an upside-down tremolo bar, and even a headstock with cigarette burns.
So, back in '74, Stevie got his hands on this beauty from Ray Hennig’s Heart of Texas Music. However - before Stevie, it belonged to another Texas legend, Christopher Cross. Apparently, Cross was craving something with a bit more kick, so he traded it for a Les Paul.
Over the years, Number One went through the wringer. Heavy touring, Stevie's intense playing style-you name it. The original sunburst finish got worn away and there are dents from Stevie's picks all over the wood. Stevie even flipped the vibrato to left-handed to channel his inner Jimi Hendrix. But with all that wear and tear, repairs were constant.
By the late '80s, the original neck was toast from all the refretting. So, Stevie swapped it out with another guitar's neck called Scotch. But just before his passing, tragedy struck when some stage rigging fell on Number One and snapped the neck. And guess what? It was the Scotch neck that got busted, not the original. Thankfully, his tech Rene Martinez managed to get a replacement from Fender, so Stevie only had to go without his favorite guitar for one show.
After Stevie's untimely death, Rene made sure Number One got its original neck back before returning it to Stevie's family. And now, it's in the hands of Stevie's brother, Jimmie.

Smart young lady there! She’s paying attention & learning about an amazing world class performer & his timeless classic fantastic music. For his early shows this one (Montreux Jazz Festival 1982) and then the Austin City Limits 1983 are 2 of my absolute favorites. Watch both in full when you have the time. With the young lady of course! 👍👍 Then for a later Stevie, Austin City Limits 1989 is fantastic!!

I would suggest Look At Little Sister from the same live show when he played the guitar behind his back on Texas Flood. There is another jaw dropping moment on Look At Little Sister.

Stevie supposedly wrote this song about his girlfriend at the time, a pretty little blonde (as she was described), his pride and joy.

Hi guys! Since you're reacting to some guitar greats (SRV and Hendrix), I'd like to suggest a reaction to one of the most underrecognized guitarists in the business, the legendary Rory Gallagher. Most guitarists know him and he is admired by and inspired many of the current guitar greats (Brian May, Alex Lifeson, Johnny Marr, the Edge, and the list goes on). Rory was known for his dynamic stage performances, which included five appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Try checking out "Shinkicker" from the 1979 appearance at Montreux for a sample of his energy and guitar work. Another outstanding performance is with him playing an Coral electric sitar in 1985 for the song "Philby" at Montreux. Thank you!

Thanks for bringing this today🎶🎸‼️ I am always here for Stevie Ray💙 . To hear more great vocals from Stevie May I suggest a song he composed called "Aint Gone 'N' Give Up On Love" at the Capitol Theatre 1985. th-cam.com/video/820u5aQ-HRg/w-d-xo.html.
It is very bluesy with, of course, a 🔥🔥🔥guitar solo🎸🎶💙💯. Keep up the good work✌️

We did end up doing more SRV songs than we thought we would, but even though we have about 40 reactions ready to go, we're letting the wheel spin decide what we react to from the list. You may be surprised what comes off of it

    • @harlanmonk569
      @harlanmonk569 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks for the reply! Can't wait! These two bands are the upper echelon of Melodic/ Progressive Metal and are insanely talented. The musicianship and production is unreal. Its hard to believe they perform their songs live but they do. NeObliviscaris is from Australia and have a distorted violin playing along while Opeth are from Sweden and are considered one of the all time greats.
