More pleeeeaaaassseeeee. His voice is good. His guitar talent is mind blowing. This song isn't gonna show it. Voodoo child .Texas flood etc will showcase the total talent
I do indeed think he is the greatest of all time. it was in a SRV tribute video a bunch of blues players made where BB king said something to an effect of "he was amazing. when i solo i play a little piece here and there and let the melody breath. Steve could channel an hour long solo on the spot i never seen anything like it, it was like he was channeling it it right out of the air."
O, you just discovered one of the greatest Guitar players of all time, and the greatest in his genre for sure, congratulations! If you love the blues, you opened a whole chamber of treasures right now. So sad that Stevie and his musicians died in that damn helicoper crash way too young! And I love his vocals as well. Next "Texas Flood" please...
@@jamesrussell8571 , I'm a huge fan of SRV for sure, that's what brought me here after all (besides being a sub to MrLboyd). What makes him unique, set aside his amazing skills on the guitar, is the unit his playing and vocals compose, I don't know how to put it better, it's like his voice is just another layer on his guitar (or v.v.). Yet I disgust absolutisms, that's why I opposed. There's so much talent out there, on any instrument, many of whom we maybe never hear of (it is easier nowadays though with the internet, in my days it was mainly the industry who decided what I was going to listen...). How cool is that? Before he does get a really big gig going on, play him Stevie Ray talking to the audience, gently imploring young people to leave drugs alone, and not to “...stay too long at the party...it’ll kill ya...”. Stevie spent the last five or so years clean and sober. Pretty amazing as he was once near death because of d&a...
@EvilHero check out a young Australian guy named Taj Farrant, or a young British guy named Toby Lee. Joe Bonamassa has had Toby Lee play with his band several times. Neither young man is over 12 I believe. Taj Farrant is the rock & roll version of the bluesy Toby Lee and they are both prodigies and gifted beyond words.
OMG, you've found SRV! Woohoo! I really hope you get to watch Texas Flood Live at El Macombo. It will be an epic experience. The man was a guitar genius, this doesn't even scrape the surface. Enjoy your new adventures into his music! - Chelsea
BB King “I’ve said that playing the blues is like having to be black twice. Stevie Ray Vaughan missed on both counts, but I never noticed.” “The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you.”
Something I like about you is that you recognize talent and greatness quickly, often within a minute. You also respect it; discuss it professionally and kindly. Good on you.
Stevie Ray Vaughn was THE best! He was from Texas and died in a helicopter crash August 28, 1990. During the tributes to him BB King called him one of the all time greats! Eric Clapton was touring one time with SRV opening for him on a certain date and he asked the stage manager or his own manager "I have to follow THAT?! How am I suppose to follow up behind this guy?!"
The fact that he's killing this song on a 12-string is amazing by itself. I luckily got to see Stevie several times before he died and those shows were the closest thing to a religious experience that I can describe. Literally ANY SRV live video is incredible.
SRV is the GOAT... This is one of his more simple songs but always been one of my favs. Too many other songs of his that are awesome so just pick something and enjoy!
Awesome! Stevie Ray was the real deal, the genuine article! Full on Texas blues. Appreciate you doing this. Hope you do more of his. Gone much too soon, sadly missed.
You have NO IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE JUST DISCOVERED!!! The BEST GUITAR PLAYER OF ALL TIME!! STEVIE RAY VAUGHN!! OMG!!! GET READY SWEETIE FOR THE RIDE OF YOUR LIFE 😌
Wait’ll you hear him play electric. Probably the greatest , IMO. And Albert King mentored him quite a bit- there’s video of them playing together. You’ll hear the Jimi Hendrix influence on the electric- especially when he covers Jimi! Voodoo Child, Little Wing. Texas Flood is my fave by him!
Yeah🙌👏✌️‼️. You just fell into the best rabbit hole there is‼️. Such an amazing body of work he left us. Always do live performances. As great as he is to listen to, the true magic is in watching him make music. Transcends and transforms himself and us. A lot of requests for Life Without You, a song Stevie wrote after his good friend Charlie Wirz passed away suddenly. If you choose this one please choose at the Capitol Theatre. It has everything. Also SRV and Johnny Copeland doing Tin Pan Alley for down and dirty blues at its finest💙💙💙. Can't wait for more🎸🎶‼️
I love how blown away you were by his voice. He is so sincere he when he sings. When you see and hear a vid of him play electric guitar, you will be blown away yet again. I'm so excited for you to be starting your SRV journey. Stay awesome!
SRV was the greatest blues guitarist of all time IMHO. If you haven’t seen him before, you’re in for a treat if you explore his catalogue. Nice reaction 🌺✌️
I gave a thumbs up before the Video even started. As a BW who loves music Stevie Ray Vaughan is in the top five of my favorite guitarist. I remember sitting at my desk at work on August 27, 1990 when it came over the radio that he had died in a helicopter crash. He made a big impact in a very short time. Thanks for sharing his music.
Stevie is a force of nature, a masterpiece of art, a humble icon - a player of such raw skill and technical ability and soul he will blow the top of your mind off...Texas Flood - Live at El Mocambo - no need to waste any time - go right to it.
It is about time :) There is WAY more than this that will BLOW YER MIND. Hendrix covers; Voodoo Chile from Austin City Lights and Little Wing from El Macambo. The latter put me OUT MY MIND BTW Once, when asked who was the best blues guitarist he'd ever known, BB King did not hesitate. "Stevie Ray." BB Freakin King
Nice reaction sir. We definitely lost an artist. 31 years ago yesterday. RIP SRV. Check out Jeff Healey...he was a blind guitar player. Played with SRV too. As the years go passing by is a great song from him. We sadly lost him in 08.
For someone’s record, Stevie’s band did NOT perish in the crash. Reece Wynans, Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton were inducted along with Stevie Ray into the Rock & Roll hall of fame. Today, Reece Wynans plays and tours with Joe Bonamassa’s band. Don’t know where the other two are, but would be quite surprised if they were away from making music.
Check out Little Ed and the Blues Imperials. A local Chicago band that has toured internationally. My now ex brother-in-law was a member for many years. Their big hit was "Chicken and Biscuits".
SRV is absolutely one of the best. You should check out the live sessions with him and Albert King. Two amazing blues guitar players, and you get to see the admiration and respect SRV has for Albert King, as well as hear some amazing performances. Cold shot, tin pan alley, Texas flood, voodoo chile, scuttle buttin'... there's too many great ones to list
When he recorded in the studio, they would put him on the sound stage, alone, with his amp facing him and a 30' cord...because he had the amp cranked so high, any closer and he would feedback. He would use the physical distance between him and the amp to vary the sound...in addition to his beyond stellar playing
He was from Texas. Based himself out of Austin Tx. He greatly admired and studied BB King, and all the great Blues artists. You should listen to Tin Pan Alley or Mary Had a Little Lamb, He was amazing and taken too soon.
You have got to do “Little Wing” live at El Mocambo!!! Mind blowing. You’ll never see more blues, soul and effortless technical perfection guitar playing than this! I know you’re taste and you’d f’ing love it. Dude never looks down at the guitar. He’s one with it.

When I first discovered Stevie in 1985 it was his first Austin city limits gig. I was blown away on Texas Flood. A fan every since. An unbelievable natural talent.
Stevie was from Oak Cliff Texas a suburb of Dallas then got started in Austin. I suggest Texas Flood at Mocambo. You're jaw will drop but I can't say why. Also Life Without You at Capital in Passaic written for his friend Charley Wirz who was a mentor and helped Stevie in how he designed his guitars and who died of a heart attack. Best vocal, great solo, and beautiful message. This one now doesn't begin to show his talents. Also Little Wing a Jimi Hendrix cover.
SRV, was born and raised in Texas. He's played and toured with the great BB King. BB has influenced and mentored many artists, that became legends just like he is.

Everything everyone else said...yes. AND, we must recognize the absolute difficulty of getting that precision out of a 12 string... He is so clean...astounding.

The best thing about BBKing and Stevie is that the they always said the other one was the best player in blue's
Great video with BB, and many others
To be fair, BB King said that about alot of people. He was just very humble that way.
Stevie always said Albert King was the best ever.
and they were both correct in saying so.
And the fact that BB KING and ALBERT KING said that although he was white, Stevie had the soul of black man, possibly two black men in his body.
I specifically would like to see more of this specific type of content
