Tommy Shannon, the bass player, appeared with Johnny Winter at Woodstock back in 1969. Reese Wynans, the keyboard player, played in a group called Second Coming with future Allman Brothers greats, guitarist Dickey Betts and bassist Berry Oakley. He was also involved in the initial jam sessions with what was to become the Allman Brothers, but stepped aside when Gregg Allman took over the keyboard role. Amazing stuff !!!
Betcha can't sit still when that's playing. Gotta give Reese props on this one. He's s just freaking awesome! His fingers just flyin up n down those those keys like a dancing spider. Wow. Stevie is always perfectly amazing no matter what he does. I still get so angry inside that he's not still here with us. Just seems so unfair that he didn't get to live a long full life after achieving sobriety. He so richly deserved that. But people like him don't just fade away into obscurity, his music will touch souls for generations because we SRV lovers will continue to keep it on a loop! Every week I see more younger people listen to requests for Stevie. They've never heard of him before, but now they'll never forget him. Great reactions. Try anything live, no disappointments. Especially Voodoo Child. Because he is one. 🔥🔥🔥 ☮️ to all.
As others have suggested, Life Without You. Not a breakup song but a song about a dear friend of Stevie's that passed away. My favorite from SRV is Rivera Paradise. No words, just a lot of smooth vibes.
SRV is the goat for sure. There is a video here on YT of the smoothest guitar swap in history. He was playing and broke a string. He switched guitars and NEVER MISSED A BEAT!!!! It was incredible. Please give it a look.
I had the privilege of seeing SRV 3 times in NYC! Two of those three times no one was in their seats, we were too busy dancing around! The third time we almost were thrown out because it was Radio City Music Hall. That show was great because the acoustics there are second to none. RIP SRV, greatest guitarist to have ever lived to date!
The keys is a very young Reese Wynans who now plays with Joe Bonamassa. IMHO Joe Bonamassa is a guitarist today who is close in talent to SRV. His style is different, but the music flows thru Joe Bonamassa like it does SRV. May I suggest: I'll Play the Blues For You, Trouble Town, What I've Known For A Very Long Time, Breaking Up Somebody's Home, I Gave Up Everything For You, and Redemption are just a few down inside this very, very deep hole (Joe Bonamassa has 15 Studio Albums to date). Fantastic reaction, TY. RIP SRV.......... THE GOAT!
Happy you got back to SRV. The man’s one of the GOATS without a doubt. He and BB were very close. The band was cooking with gas as my Dad used to say. A breakup song, I would say Cold Shot Loved your reaction and hope to see more SRV very soon. Have a great day. 🎸✌️
This is a great song! They played this on the radio airwaves ALL the time in the beginning of the 90s. Many memories and what a jive from hearing it for sure. Thank you 💞
Stevies last moments on stage were so appropriate that it was as if God himself said, "I'm sorry Stevie but I need you up here and I have to call you home. But before I do I want you to get to have a special moment with all of your friends and heros." If you don't know the story; Double trouble was playing A HUGE Blues show and a who's who of blues musicians were on stage. And at the end of the night, as many of them as could be shoe horned onto a stage got up and played Sweet Home Chicago and Stevie lead the band. He got on a helicopter to get back to the hotel and get some rest. And that was it. He had been clean and sober for the last couple years of his life, if it was even that long. I will always have a bit of a problem with my maker for taking Stevie away. That one will never sit right with me. I remember where I was, who I was with and what I was doing the moment I found out he was gone. I remember my reaction and the several days of grieving that followed. The words, "We lost him again." came out of my mouth and I dropped whatever was in my hands. If there are other guitarists my age out there, you will know what I meant and to whom I was referring. RIP Bluesman
Hope you get this comment. I would highly recommended that you do the live version of Willy the wimp it is absolutely stunning, irreverent, funny, just beautiful and the song is based on a real event which makes it even better. Love your reactions, you do a great job, and I love the fact that you said that you felt like this song was about her, what a sweet, sweet thing, to say to your lady!
You guys need to do yourselves a favor. The last album SRV did was with his older brother. The project was called Vaughan Brothers. This was after SRV got clean and sober. Check out their song Tick Tock. Its a new side to SRV and a beautiful touching song
Stevie all decked out for this show, the piano on this one is amazing as well...all the band is great backing him up because you never know what he's going to do during a song...They kinda have to watch him off and on just to see where everyone's at. SRV rocks it out! Miss you here in Texas!
A light went out on earth the day he left us. God, it was so sad. Great thing is we still have things like this to enjoy. Thank you for letting it in, spreading it and keeping that light on. ❤️❤️❤️
Love you channel....white guy in Raleigh NC....I saw Stevie Ray in Nashville at Starwood Amphitheater two weeks before he died....awesome. Love you guys....
Notice the white guitar SRV is playing here. It was built by Charley Wirz of Charley's Guitar Shop in Dallas as a gift for Stevie Ray. Charley died suddenly in 1985 and Stevie dedicated "Life Without You" to Charley. The live performance of Life Without You at the Capitol Theatre in New Jersey is a must-see.
I gotta give y'all props for the way you do your reaction videos. The best I've seen. Not a bunch of crazy screaming and "oh my God ing" like most. Great work. SRV is a legend. I recommend you listen to every song he put on an album including the bootleg ones.
blues musician Muddy Waters once said, "Stevie could perhaps be the greatest guitar player that ever lived, but he won't live to get 40 years old if he doesn't leave that white powder alone."
Jimmy Vaughan Stevie Ray Vaughan's older brother said Stevie Ray came down to talk to everyone before they were about to play and told them he had a dream he died and he was up looking down at his own funeral and they were alot of people crying, he was killed that night August 27, 1990 at the young age of 35 and exactly 4 years to the day his father passed away. RIP STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE GOAT
BB King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Eric Clapton, and many more ALL said the same thing about Stevie. He seemed to be a direct channel to blues. He lived inside the guitar more than any other human being,
SRV definitely one of my favorites. Left this world to soon (rip) . Just wanna give a shot out to you guys all the way from the boarders of the Navajo nation (New Mexico). Love your reactions. Rock on.. Peace
for my favorite version of Pride and Joy look up SRV LOVE STRUCK BABY - PRIDE AND JOY RARE. It's at a club with people dancing. It is a lot of fun and greatness. Reese on keyboards is killing it here. Really agree with your reaction. Another great one is The Things I Used to Do. And I'm Leaving You (Commit a Crime) performance on a riverboat cruise is great.
A great video to watch if you have about an hour and a half to spare is "Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughan In Session 1983". Albert King was one of Stevie's idols and influences and they are jamming in a studio with some great backup musicians. They chat back and forth between songs and as it progresses, their playing just gets better and better as they start feeding off each other.
Your responses to SRV are so genuine and delightful ~! Video on his life: "The Rise and Fall of a Texas Blues Man" begins with him and bro Jimmie as children......great story told well.
"That song was dedicated to you baby" says every good guy to his woman when this song plays and she said first "You're my little lover boy" such a "Sweet little thang"
Another GREAT version of this song is by two dudes playing this on a toy guitar in Walmart. Check out Clay Shelburn & Zac Stokes- Walmart Rockstars. It will be the best 3 minutes of your day.
One of my absolute favourites is: ain't gonna give up on love from live at the capitol theatre! Its a breakup song and his singing and playing is on point as always🔥🎶
I think you'd love the Cold Shot music video. It's hilariously clever, depicting a tongue-in-cheek view of Stevie Ray's obsession with guitars and portraying a wife or girlfriend reacting to always having to "play second fiddle" physically and emotionally to his guitars.
Check out SRV's song "Dirty Pool." It deals with a guy finding out that his girl was just using him, and his determination to no longer allow himself to be made a fool.
It's not exactly a "breakup" song but SRV's - Life Without You gets pretty emotional. It's about the passing of his great friend and mentor Charley Wirz. The song shows his love for Charley and how much he truly missed him.
Smokin' hot. Killer song. Driving down a lone highway early one morning, nobody in front of me...got LOVER BOY cranked up....notice in the rear view, cop car gaining on me with lights flashing...turned the volume down a bit on SRV....Cop stops me, I'm crankin the music down low, Cop walks up. sticks his head in my window and says (with a smile) "Do you know you were speeding?" No Sir, I got carried away listening to music...He says "No Stevie Ray while driving ok?" I just grin, and say "got it, thank you Sir"
I have only just discovered your channel and am really enjoying it. I've happily subscribed. You both have a great chemistry together too. Best wishes, James
Stevie Ray Vaughn was amazing, no doubt. I will contend that nobody really has any idea how great he was until they've watched the ENTIRE " LIve at the El Mocombo" video. All other footage PALES in comparison. It's very hard to find the entire concert but it can be done...
I had the pleasure of being in a great unknown band that had the blessing of opening many shows for SRV and Double Trouble in the 1980’s. The entire band were great to be around and yes they were amazing.
Life Without You from the Capital Theatre is life changing. Trust me - written as a memorial to his friend Charley Wirz. The guitar that SRV uses was gifted to him by Mr. Wirz long before he was famous. The guitar was named Charley in honor of his friend.
Dirty Pool from the 1982 Montreux Jazz Festival before he & his band mates had a record contract is a badass breakup song. One of my personal favorites!
My mother loved the blues, this was the first song we ever saw Stevie do, moms name was Joy, it was instant love for her. When I heard he had died the first thing I did was call to see if she was ok. Needless to say, she was heart broken. When she died about ten years later, I always hoped she got to meet Stevie Ray in heaven. RIP Mom and Stevie Ray. Thanks for a great reaction guys.
Tasha's smile right as the song kicks in is all the reaction I needed to see. Thank you, guys. For keeping SRV's music alive. One of my favorites by him is Paradise Riveria.
So love y'all's reaction! Thank you for this. I keep asking for reactions to the video of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, Paul Butterfield, B.B King ALL PLAYING TOGETHER. I listed their names in that order, because that particular video has the names listed that way, so it's easier to find. It IS an AWESOME collaboration and well worth it to watch!
May I have a talk with you! Mary have a little lamb, look at little sister, love struck…. Please! SRV the goat 🐐. We lost him the same way we lost Kobe. 😡🚁👊🏼😡
The Keyboard player Reese Wynans now tours with Joe Bonamassa and drummer Chris Layton tours with Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Both those guys I’ve seen many times and are fantastic. Can’t go wrong checking those guys out for some killer guitar.
I love the way you react you did such a great job. Thank you. If you want to see Stevie Ray Vaughan at the very very top of his game, watch Texas Flood live at the El Mukombo and also life without you at the Capitol theater he was absolutely a genius on the guitar and had a great bluesy soulful voice so nice to see people appreciating how great he truly wise. Just subscribe to your channel because I love your reactions and your insight. Great job thank you.
Another awesome reaction video from you guys, you should check out another great guitarist. Rory Gallagher - Do you read me (Rock goes to college) 1979, Rory Gallagher was a amazing guitarist who sold over 30 million albums and he was one of Stevie Ray Vaughns biggest influences.
What BB King said about Stevie’s playing is he wished he could play that away because he said the way he “BB” played it like talking he sometimes pauses and when Stevie plays it just flows out of him like water flows .
You gotta by the greatest to pull that outfit off. Can't even begin to comprehend the music we lost in that crash. I'll never stop saying it but stay away from small aircraft.
On one of his albums he did a short interview. He mentioned a bunch of different licks that were inspired by normal country sounds. In that song that loping groove was inspired by the rhythm of a horse walking down the road, most likely with shoes.
Life without you... Please. Not a breakup song but made for a friend of his that passed away. Alot more to the story but the white guitar is named Charley after his friend.
Gotta give props to Double Trouble (the band)...with Reese Wynans on piano...this one is my favorite of them all!!
Love SRV! This is one of my favorites too!
And Tommy Shannon on bass- who played for another Texas blues guitarist- Johnny Winter.
Glad I read your comment. I was about to break down the names of the musicians. 👍🔥🔥
Gotta shout out to Stevie's band Double Trouble. They were overshadowed by his greatness but they also kicked some ass.
Amazing stuff !!!
funny how that happens. same can be said about Jimmy Hendrixs band. Shows how hypnotizing a great guitar player can be
One of my favorite tracks of all time!
Betcha can't sit still when that's playing. Gotta give Reese props on this one. He's s just freaking awesome! His fingers just flyin up n down those those keys like a dancing spider. Wow. my wife and I danced to this at our wedding. SRV has always been my favorite guitarist and top 3 blues type singer. Texas swing
I played this at my wedding too! Great memories.
The keybordist for Stevie Ray Vaughn is Reese Wynans and currently is part of Joe Bonamassa's Band
He would be 68 years old this year. I bet he would be kicking ass today! RIP GOAT!
thanks, guys - once again he gives it up for Reese Wynans on keys! Go Stevie... !
Happy you got back to SRV. The man’s one of the GOATS without a doubt. He and BB were very close. The band was cooking with gas as my Dad used to say. A breakup song, I would say Cold Shot Loved your reaction and hope to see more SRV very soon. Have a great day. 🎸✌️
SRV was one of the most amazing guitar players. He played with such emotion that can never be repeated. He is and always will be a legend.
This is a great song! They played this on the radio airwaves ALL the time in the beginning of the 90s. Many memories and what a jive from hearing it for sure. Thank you 💞

I. was so heartbroken when I found out about the helicopter going down. I know I'll never forget it because he passed away on my birthday.
I believe it was right at 3 years he was clean & sober, if I remember correctly.
Sir I did not come here to cry
Rest In Power Randy Rhoads...
Well spoken.
This is the song that they still play on the Texas music radio stations.....one of the first SRV song I learned all the lyrics by heart.
Hope you get this comment. I would highly recommended that you do the live version of Willy the wimp it is absolutely stunning, irreverent, funny, just beautiful and the song is based on a real event which makes it even better. the danceability of this song is everything-SRVs The Sky is Crying is a heartbreak song yall might like-

My wife was learning that song when she passed away. She wanted so hard to play it because we had lost our little girl, just a few months earlier.
@@paulprovenzano3755 That's terrible. So sorry for your loss.
I agree... that's the next you should review
I gotta give y'all props for the way you do your reaction videos. The best I've seen. Not a bunch of crazy screaming and "oh my God ing" like most. Great work. SRV is a legend. I recommend you listen to every song he put on an album including the bootleg ones.
Blackberry Smoke singing Man of Constant Sorrow Live in Georgia. They Decerve attention! One Horse Town! So many!
blues musician Muddy Waters once said, "Stevie could perhaps be the greatest guitar player that ever lived, but he won't live to get 40 years old if he doesn't leave that white powder alone."
Yes . Thank you for diving into SRV. A beautiful soul and a untouchable guitar player. Miss him so much
The blues, just a good man feeling down. Tin Pan Alley
SRV was a South Dallas (Oak Cliff) boy done good… A Texas musician who gave the world greatness…. Rest Well SRV; we miss you every day.
Stevie had supernatural talent, both with guitar and vocal performance. Gone too soon
SRV , is the greatest of all time . When he picked a guitar he gave it a pulse !
The Sky is Crying!!!
BB King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Eric Clapton, and many more ALL said the same thing about Stevie. He seemed to be a direct channel to blues. He lived inside the guitar more than any other human being,
CAN I HAVE A LITTLE TALK WITH YOU/THE SKY IS CRYING/LIFE BY THE DROP
Cold shot.... the closest thing to a breakup song I can think of from them. My favorite Stevie tune is Tightrope .
YES..."Tightrope" from Austin City Limits, 1989
Having met this most humble gentleman I can honestly say he is down to earth and rather affable.
BB King said I play guitar in sentences but Stevie Ray plays guitar in paragraphs
SRV definitely one of my favorites. Left this world to soon (rip) . Just wanna give a shot out to you guys all the way from the boarders of the Navajo nation (New Mexico). Love your reactions. Rock on..
Peace
MAKE IT TALK STEVIE! LOVE U 4 EVER! RIP
Such a loss to music with his passing. Such an original.
You're into my generation and I love it.
SRV HAS BEEN DEAD FOR 32 YEARS BUT THIS WILL NEVER DIE IN THE EARS OF MUSIC LOVERS
for my favorite version of Pride and Joy look up SRV LOVE STRUCK BABY - PRIDE AND JOY RARE. It's at a club with people dancing. It is a lot of fun and greatness. Reese on keyboards is killing it here. Really agree with your reaction. Another great one is The Things I Used to Do. And I'm Leaving You (Commit a Crime) performance on a riverboat cruise is great.

Your responses to SRV are so genuine and delightful ~! Video on his life: "The Rise and Fall of a Texas Blues Man" begins with him and bro Jimmie as children......great story told well.
I sure miss Stevie and can only imagine what he would be like today if he were alive.
Excellent camera work! Pianist, Stevie's back, drummer, top of Stevie's head...
I was at his last show at Alpine Valley back in 1990. Absolutely shocked to hear of his demise the next afternoon.
Thank you Thank u. I LOVE SRV. Check out Tin Pan Alley on this same concert. It's AMAZING
Man, oh man, that piano player can really play those ivories!!!!! There's no need to mention Stevie Ray!!!
The "Sky is Cryin" is a good breakup song. My favorite srv song is "Life By The Drop". Can't go wrong with any of it though.
This song is just SO GOOD! Great reaction-- I appreciate all that you do and all that you are! Keep on truckin' :)
There's Southern blues-rock sound to this, that goes down good with a bourbon in your hand!
There's never enough SRV!
You a lucky man. She's not only easy on the eyes, but easy on the ears, as well....
Pride n Joy is probably my no.1 crank it up car songs. Good break up blues song is "Lie to Me " by Jonny Lang.
Yep, you are correct.
This is my fave from SRV. Check out his album Family Style, done with his brother Jimmy, lead guitarist for Fabulous Thunderbirds.
Texas flood Live at the El Mocambo should be the next to review!
That's a BAAAADDDD Man right there. Dude was a wizard!
Best wishes,
James
Check out 'Sound Check" SRV and his band are doing a sound check before the concert and someone had the greatness of mind to record. EPIC!
I love SRV. I remember where I was driving when I heard his helicopter went down. I was so shocked😢
Stevie Ray Vaughn was amazing, no doubt. I will contend that nobody really has any idea how great he was until they've watched the ENTIRE " LIve at the El Mocombo" video. All other footage PALES in comparison. It's very hard to find the entire concert but it can be done...
It's on DVD on Amazon and probably a lot of other sites. I've had a copy a long time. He killed it that night.
One of my favorite songs from SRV is Life By The Drop! Amazing song! Y’all definitely should check it out
I had the pleasure of being in a great unknown band that had the blessing of opening many shows for SRV and Double Trouble in the 1980’s.

Life Without You and Cold Shot are great "breakup" songs by SRV and Double Trouble.
Can’t sit still when SRV is pouring his soul out to you 🔥🔥 A Dallas Texas gem🔥🔥
Love Stevie Ray Vaughn
Tasha's smile right as the song kicks in is all the reaction I needed to see. Thank you, guys. For keeping SRV's music alive. One of my favorites by him is Paradise Riveria.
One of my favorite SRV songs! I remember how sad we all were when he passed away. Little Wing is a great one by SRV also.

I love this song! It's my dad's song to my mom 🥰 They've been married almost 50 years 😱❤️
NICE!🤠👌
On one of his albums he did a short interview. He mentioned a bunch of different licks that were inspired by normal country sounds. In that song that loping groove was inspired by the rhythm of a horse walking down the road, most likely with shoes.
Life without you... Please. Not a breakup song but made for a friend of his that passed away. Alot more to the story but the white guitar is named Charley after his friend.
