I pretty much wear a uniform for work: Black or gray slacks, blouse, cardigan and black flats. I get my color and patterns through the blouses and cardigans. It just makes my life so much easier.
I am a plus sized woman who looks better in dresses. So, two weeks ago I purchased a quarter sleeved knit faux wrap dress from target. I ended up wearing it twice in one week. I loved it so much, I purchased two more lol. It’s comfortable for sitting at my desk. It’s comfortable to move around in. I’m a Recruiter sometimes I have to host job fairs, onboarding events or orientations. I need something that still looks somewhat professional but still easy to move in and doesn’t wrinkle easily. This was PERFECT! I’ve realized I want to get a few things to complete my uniform to switch out. I •I want to get a nice denim jacket & white sneakers for casual look. •A navy or cream blazer to add a professional layer that will be good to meet with my clients. • I’d like a nice quality cardigan either navy or tan ( depends on the color I get for my blazer then I’d purchase the opposite) that I can wear or put over my shoulders to create a layered look and I’d like to get some muled loafers. • I can wear this dress by itself plain with a pair of sling backs. Im so excited lol. This is my work uniform but I will allow myself to purchase 3 other dresses and a pair of good quality leggings for weekend wear. I think this will allow me to really save so much money and also feel confident & comfortable everyday. I can also save by washing one load of laundry since my clothing are majority black lol. I can use woolite and even re dye them if they loose luster.
I have a uniform that is pretty out there. My basics are voluminous batik pants, structured woven crop tops, silver or copper-alloy jewelry, and tikhl headscarves, in sea glass greens, blues, pinks, and purples. And then mixing in clean pale chic things from Club Monaco and the like (again, mostly wide-leg or cigarette trousers, blazer vests, smooth wool coats). Still building it up, but I’ve been living on the approximation long enough to know that I’m in love. Definitely not ‘limited’ as far as uniforms go, but the underlying structures are coherent and specific, so I can still get a massive amount of play from a teensy number of clothes.
That sounds like a very fun, personality-filled wardrobe to play with! I'm glad you've found something that works for you! Uniforms need not be as boring as mine ;)
ive been wearing a uniform for roughly 3 years, nearly all black with a little bit of white and red. i’ll add to it heavy black and red makeup as well as silver pendants and black rings, which allows me to change it and make it more interesting. so if you’re trying out a uniform but it’s feeling boring, try some cosmetics or jewelry that can be changed up while still matching the uniform.
I wore a uniform to work for over twenty years. My second career in life was as a RN. I worked many different places and different departments within the healthcare system. They get really old, but you are immediately identifiable within a organization and a group. Then came my third career in money management, broker type stuff. Slacks, top, blazer, pantyhose. Short stacked heals. Then career number four, babysitter./ caregivers. During this phase I cared for my elderly mother, in my home and my grandson from birth to age five. I wore the same cotton tee shirt, peasant style in different colors and capris or jeans, I am now into career number five, retiree. Sometime artiste, sometime farmer. Pajamas, and loungewear, jeans during cool weather capris in hotter weather. A little fancier if I actually go somewhere.during the day. My closet is full. I need to do some purging. I have gotten away from anything in particular. I think it’s time to go back a ways though and develop a uniform for retirement and travel. I must incorporate the flexibility needed to play with my grandchildren and the comfort to spend a day nursing my back on a heating pad.i see now at age 70, that I have actually had at least the five and maybe six different phases of adult life, with uniforms for each phase. My first career was caregiver and homemaker for small children, then student for my first degree in college, young , overwhelmed, overworked, and full of life. I didn’t mention that because there was no uniform to it, it was whatever was clean and fit that day!
I appreciate your advice (and delivery!) so much! I've seen countless videos like this, and yours is the first that made sense to me. I especially like the idea of wearing an outfit for a week as a uniform "test". Keep up the great work! I think I just found a new favorite clothing/minimalism channel!
Just a note to tell you that I just adore your videos! I love your voice, your humor, your classiness, and your content. Concise, informative, funny, and so easy to watch!
This was very useful; thank you! A uniform I'm interested in trying is this: black running skirt, fitted black top, and a black half apron with pockets.
My grandma used to do this. She always wore navy pants and a white shirt, or a shirt with white and blue stripes. When I am not working I like to wear bright colors, but I also like to wear black at times. However, for work, I definitely think having your own personal uniform could be conducive. I always seem to keep wearing this same black pencil skirt with certain shirts.
This video is so informative! And thanks for the links. Cleaning out my wardrobe because I'm tired of wsting so much energy going through piles of clothes that don't fit anymore. Was feeling overwhelmed with the cleanup so I found your video. t Thanks for the boost!
Great job!!!!!!!! I’m a food service manager and must be business casual. i hate the grease stained shirts after a long day! I decided on Black dress shirt, black slacks as my uniform!!!!!! I compliment or change with suspender colors and ties!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
Hope your Invisalign have become more comfortable! I got them at 16, now 10+ years later I wear them overnight a few times a week to maintain alignment. As a nurse, my Monday-Friday daytime outfit formula is set---scrubs! All my pants are the same exact style. 2-3 black, 2 dark gray, 1 burgundy, and 1 eggplant. Tops are solid darks, a couple brights, with some dark patterned tops, all in somewhat subtle/tasteful geometric or nature prints. So the work wardrobe is quite cohesive, and I'm very happy with it. Now my casual clothes, which get worn less (1-2 times/week), I have way more of--in quantity and variety. Many of those pieces don't get worn much anymore. But my frugal self has such difficulty parting with them because they're classic, good quality, and purchased quite inexpensively. I need to implement your separation box concept!
Ahh, now I understand the division of work and casual clothes better. If the "casual clothes" (air quotes because I really mean "anything that isn't scrubs," and I assume you have some formal/formal-ish clothing in there, though who knows, I don't) are things you really aren't wearing, it might be helpful to consider a tip that I recently heard of called the 20/20 rule: if you're struggling with whether or not to get rid of an item, ask yourself if you could buy a replacement for it for under $20 within 20 minutes of your home. I realize most clothing costs more than $20, but the principle could still apply here. If you know where and how to find an item at a bargain price, that could take some of the stress out of parting with items that you really aren't wearing because you could find a replacement easily. You could also do a little math and make a chart/sketch of how many non-work items you want to keep, based on your lifestyle and how often you need clothes for particular occasions, e.g. 365 days in a year - 260 weekdays = 105 weekend days, and say you repeat outfits 5 times a year = 21 casual outfits that your wardrobe would need to support, and then keep enough items to be able to mix and match into 21 outfits for the year. Honestly you can make a ton of outfits from just a few items--Pinterest is full of "X outfits out of N" items collages. If you stuck to something like that, you would have fewer items than me!
Thank you for such a thorough response! I like the idea of the 20/20 rule. "Casual clothes" to me is anything worn outside the home, but not to work. Dates, church, errands, etc. Mostly jeans and knit tops. I have very few formal pieces that make up a little microcapsule of sorts. My final category of clothing is "around the house clothes"--sweats, old ratty T's and athletic shorts. I've kept a reasonable number of favorites. Back to the casual--maybe it's a fear of not being able to find what I want or getting rid of something then regretting it. There's a decent amount I haven't worn in a while, but haven't parted with yet. I'll keep watching you and my other favorite TH-camrs until I can muster up the courage!
I'm not sure if you said your name, but I really like you, girl! The content is so helpful and interesting. I think it would be nice to see photos of the combinations you mentioned in yourself or even in the hangers, I missed visual cues during the video, but they are great regardless :D
You're totally right. I meant to show some cut aways, but time got away from me and I wanted to get it edited and up that day. I too prefer videos that aren't 100% talking heads, so I'll try to be better about that in the future, and thanks for the feedback!
I am loving your videos! Really informative and to the point. I have a question on uniforms. So I pretty much only wear dresses and boots - the length of the dresses and boots vary and I'll usually throw on tights or a cardigan in cooler weather. Of course the dresses are quite varied in terms of patterns, colours, etc., as are the boots. Does this then count as a uniform?
The first thing that comes to mind to describe what you wear is an "outfit formula" or maybe a "silhouette" (assuming the dresses have similar shapes). It does sound like it maybe crosses into uniform territory though, as a uniform is a standardized way of dressing, but I think it comes down to whether or not all of the dresses and boots have the same vibe. If all of the dresses are "professional" or "feminine" or whatever, I would call it a uniform. If, however, you prefer to wear dresses over other garments, but the dresses vary greatly in style, I wouldn't call it a uniform. Either way, kudos for finding an outfit formula that works for you!
This is the first video that I watched from you, and I felt in love with your confidence, your voice, your attitude, your content, I mean with everything!! Thank you so much for making this type of videos! Hugs!
Aww, thank you! I love talking about this stuff, so I'm glad you've found it useful. And I will keep making them until no one wants to watch them anymore ;)
Great video, thank you! I already kinda wear a uniform, it's just something that I always choose to wear (skinny jeans, wrap top, cardigan, flat shoes) but I've been thinking for a while now to reset myself to dresses. I like them, because it's a ready outfit and they're very comfortable but I don't know if they're good for every situation. So I will take your advice and wear them for a week and we'll see what happens :)
How did it go? Did it work out, or did you learn something and adapt it? (It's difficult to find replies to comment threads like this again, but if you let me know in a new comment I am more likely to see it, just FYI)
I love the idea of a work uniform. I wear scrubs to work, but If i worked in let's say, corporate America, I would most likely still wear one. I read an article in Lucky magazine AGES ago. It does take attention from the garment and puts focus on the individual and the idea that individual presents. This is also probably why I stay away from printed scrubs and stick to solid colored ones, always wearing the matching set. I love your content- new subbie!
Great video. I like the content. Would be good to see the outfit combinations. Maybe you could do a video on the combinations in action, e.g. work outfit at work.
I definitely want to get to a point where I have one uniform that encompasses every aspect of my life. I already find myself wearing the same few things over and over again, while having a closet overflowing with things I maybe wore once and never looked at again. Changing temperatures annoy me. I love long-sleeved shirts and have four or five identical turtlenecks in different colours, but come summer, it's too hot to wear them so I have to dig through piles of t-shirts to find ones that are comfortable, not too worn out, that fit right, etc. I'm considering just having a few of my favourite shirts and layering them over the top of my turtlenecks in the winter, and wearing them by themselves during the summer. I have one favourite pair of cargo pants that are very old and that I can't find a replacement for, but they have holes in the knees and are becoming thin and worn in general, so I've been searching for a similar style with which to replace them.
It sounds like you're on your way to establishing a great uniform for yourself! If I interpret your situation correctly, then we're in the same boat: I prefer cold weather dressing, and I feel my best in the uniform of sorts that I've established for myself in the winter. In the summer, it's so hot that the uniform flies out the window. I'm trying to find a way to adapt it for summer, but I haven't quite made it yet. Anyway, best of luck with yours!
As you were speaking of your uniform, I had this idea to dress it up by wearing a lightweight black sweater with crew neck under the white blouse and tying the white shirt at the waist, unbuttoned. You could set this off nicely with simple gold necklace and gold stud earrings and a red lip. Tie hair back loosely. Though I dont know what you do, this is my first visit to your channel. I personally like a little heel lift in my shoes. It gives my presence and walk more oomph. Merry Christmas!!
That does sound very stylish! My personal look is a bit more androgynous and simple, but I think your suggestion is a great example of how you can get two radically different looks with a few styling changes. Merry Christmas to you too!
This is a very interesting video. Thank you. I am a long-term military career person (28 years now), so I wear a uniform every day :). I found one comment you made interesting, which actually involves the whole concept of 'uniform'. It was about the American Psycho wearing a monotonous daily uniform. Many successful people, Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Barack Abama et al, all wear a fairly standard day to day dress. It is not uncommon. My perspective on 'uniform' from a military view, is, everyone is the same. We are 'uniform'. You can have 5000 people on a parade, all wearing the same clothing, it's not called a Uniform for no reason, it's because we are all, UNIFORM.Thus to me, the idea of a 'personal' uniform, doesn't really make the grade of being called a uniform, more just your personal style. If everyone in the same office, or business, wore the same outfit, THEN it would be a uniform. does that sound silly? Am I being too pedantic? Military people tend to get pedantic with definitions. Anyhow. Thank you for a very interesting video. I will definately watch some more of your content. You seem very interesting.
You're not wrong, but I think the word/concept has evolved to also be a way to talk about simplistic, repetitive dressing as well. I think the goal of "personal uniforms" (and it does have the "personal" qualifier, to be sure) is to imitate more traditional uniforms and benefit from their simplicity. And, of course, the military is definitely a place where this wouldn't fly, but there are some examples of uniforms with flexibility: e.g. school uniforms where you could wear a skirt or pants or different kinds of ties, as long as they are regulation items. Or the post office: both shorts and pants and skirts can be worn as part of the official uniform. I love talking about uniforms, and it sounds like you do too, so you might like the article that I linked in the description. Thanks for watching the video!
Nice video beauty! Even though I'm just a masters student and never tried personal uniform before, this video makes me know about different life styles. Have a great day and please keep making great videos!
This is so great. We are downsizing into an Airstream to travel and I've thought about this! My kids were even watching a cartoon the other day and noted that the characters "always wear the same thing", so I was able to say: We could do that! And they were fully on board. Now it's to decide the exact uniform(s). :) Thanks for this! Also, have you read the book 'Popular'? It's great; it's a teenage girl's experiment on dressing from a book that her father got her and it sparked interest in the perception of others. It's a really fun read and opens your eyes to some interesting things about how people perceive us through dress, but how you can make it your own, as well.
I have not read that book, but it sounds really interesting! Good luck downsizing to the airstream! A friend of mine went RVing with her mother this past summer and told me all about her experiences. She thought she was a minimalist before, but being on the road taught her all new lessons about what is really essential. I remember seeing some HGTV show about tiny houses, and each family member got one plastic bin in which to put everything they were going to keep. I may never reach that point, but I'm fascinated and inspired by those who do. Let me know if you ever decide to publicly document your journey (youtube, blog, etc), and, again, good luck!
I just got attachments, so woe is me. I told my provider that I could taste blood for the first several days after putting in new trays, and they said it's normal. I'm sure it is, but I'd rather not have that reminder of the trauma my teeth are going through. Oh well. I wanted this, I paid for this, so I will suck it up and deal!
I have a couple "styles" that don't seem to "match" each other, although I think they are connected by light jeans/dark pants/ leather footwear/androgyny... So here it is... Hippie boho, menswear/basic suit/blazer, baseball tomboy-ish, and rocker/biker chick (tough girl glam, like black spiky sparkly boots)... I don't feel like these are very cohesive other than that they can be built around faded skinny jeans and ankle boots...
If you're happy with all of those styles and the clothing options you probably need to keep to support them, have fun with it! It's great that you are able to identify and define what you like, as that also helps to partition away what you don't like and what doesn't have a place in your wardrobe. If, on the other hand, you're looking for advice, I personally think that the "hippie boho" is the least cohesive with the others that you mentioned, then maybe "rocker/biker chick" OR "suit/blazer," depending on the which you prefer, as either work and nicely contrast with "menswear/basic" or "baseball tomboy-ish" but create different looks. I'm personally and perhaps obviously in the menswear/basic/blazer camp myself, so I'm a bit partial to it. I have a whole video that I recently made on my love for basics (th-cam.com/video/Lcdzglzq0Pw/w-d-xo.html), but what works for me is particular to me, and you should do whatever you want. Anyway, good luck and I hope some of this helps!
Thank you. I like the simplicity of one look and few items, but then when I think of what I really like, it just seems like the number of clothes grow, lol. I think if I keep my colors limited, and am careful with what I choose I can make it all work. :)
For me hippie boho is a lot different from what I see when I google that- so mainly very casual, light washed jeans with a lose flowey top or tunic (all managed without being *too* fussy or girly-girl somehow... I used to love peasant tops but now they are a bit to fussy and feminine for me but maybe something in that ballpark... (Maybe I should just wear a menswear wide lapel silky paisley shirt, lol. Or some riff on that...) And natural fibers/suede, shearling/fur... The more I think about it the more I feel like I could work those elements into a menswear/suit style in more subtle ways they would just be not as formal I guess, and into of course, casual "weekend wear." Basically if I start with kind of the men's wear/suit/blazer and very basic bottoms as the core, and then just add a touch of the other things, using neutrals and limited color pallet... Maybe I could make it work. Lol. Its just a matter of finding the pieces that I have in my mind...
So- start with basic black and white suit basics: white collar shirt, dark jeans, black pants, black blazer. Hippie/boho add ins would be subtle- a paisley print button up, a suede blazer, light wash jeans, Chelsea boots (barefoot preferred, lol). Baseball add ins- a baseball/bomber style jacket on red/black/white, White Adidas, a graphic t that looks good under a blazer maybe. Then the rocker add ins could be the black sparkly boots, black leather or sparkly pants/leggings, and maybe a sparkly sort of tuxedo jacket or leather jacket. I think I just made my wish list, lol. I kinda think those would all work together. What are your thoughts?
I get bored with everything really easily or feel like I need to dress differently because people at work might notice (and I feel like teenagers actually do). Any tips?
If you like to switch things up, a uniform might not be for you. If you really want a uniform though, but you want to have some flexibility to mix things up, you could always try using accessories to change up a look. Regarding people noticing: I find that small wardrobes tend to be more neutral and basic, and the more neutral and simple your clothing, the less people are likely to notice repeat outfits. If you wear a black tshirt every day, people are less likely to pay attention to it than, say, a bright floral print shirt. Consider people in an office wearing suits every day: you might wear a navy suit one day and black the next, but because it's so simple, it's not something people will really remember. Especially if you do want to have a stringent uniform and wear the same outfit, if it's simple, there's no way for people to really know if you're wearing the same shirt every day or if you have five of the exact same shirt. I worked rather closely with a woman for about a year before I noticed that she wore black jeans and a chambray shirt often. When I asked her about it, she said that she didn't just wear it "often," she wore it literally every day, and I didn't even notice. Uniforms are also relatively well-known now, since lots of high-profile people adhere to them--like Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and Matilda Kahl--so if someone did ask you about it, I feel like you could be honest and say "It's my uniform/I'm experimenting with a uniform/I wear it so I can simplify my decisions," and that person would understand and maybe even admire you for it. And, of course, dress for yourself, not other people.
I'm a big fan of looking for inspiration and motivation on Pinterest. I just did a quick search for "colorful capsule wardrobe" and saw lots of results. I lean towards neutrals because I find them the easiest to coordinate and I prefer those colors on myself anyway, but there's no reason you can't have more color. You can have loads of color in a capsule if you, say, reserve the colorful items for tops and have neutral pants to pair them with, or if you pair them with their color opposites or immediate neighbors (basic color theory). And, even with a capsule, you can still create a color palette for yourself--maybe one themed for the particular season that you're working with. Defining my color palette was a turning point for me, but yours does not need to be as boring as mine!
@farolitodepapel I divorced black last year but retained white, navy and charcoal as my neutrals. Icy colours are my best light neutrals so I keep an eye out for them...and...jewel colours are my best accents. I have denim too...for home, good casual and dressy. I also make sure I have a good mix of patterns and plains to avoid 'boredom. I also have lots and lots of linen in my 'uniform'. There is no reason you can't have all the colours you like for all your items...top, bottom, undies, coats and scarves...go for it. As Vested Interests mentioned Pinterest is a great resource and I too saw many wonderful colourful capsule wardrobes. 50's themed. Animal Print. BoHo. Florals. Beach. Resort. Sporty...the sky's the limit.
In the cohesive wardrobe video, I don't wear the clothes but I have my rail of clothes behind me which I use as examples. Just posted a video today of the greater part of a week of winter work uniform outfits: th-cam.com/video/175HTRu7aSI/w-d-xo.html
I've decluttered my phone on occasion, but I've never really felt compelled to have a SUPER streamlined phone in the way that I feel compelled to declutter my house. It's kind of fun every now and then to go on a "delete 50 or 100 photos a day" streak (I have a lot of photos), and I do find it easy to delete apps, since they're always in the cloud and super easy to reinstall if I need them. Even still, my phone isn't a super minimal place, so I haven't made a video on it.
The French wear black bras under white silk shirts...?...if you're game. I wear a cami that matches my bottoms and then undo one more button for a little triangle of colour to show. And on the plus side you don't see that line at the waist band of your jeans through your white shirt...sleek.
I'm confused, does that 50 item count include underwear? I'm asking because I'm trying to cut down my wardrobe and make it more manageable but everyone I watch seems to already have more than twice the clothes that I have!
My 50 items does include outerwear. In some of my first videos, it did not, but it does now. One of my next goals is to include my shoes in a 50 item count (I haven't counted shoes with my clothing so far, and I kind of like keeping them separate, but it's a goal I'd like to hit even if I end up continuing to count them separately). I've begun to identify some pieces that will be the next to go, but it might take more than one clear out for me to achieve that goal. I am personally very comfortable in the 35-50 items of clothing range, but everyone is different and everyone has different goals. How many items do you have and what are you hoping to achieve?
Vested Interests hi, thank you for the response :). If I include outerwear and shoes (but not underwear) I currently have 28 items. I only currently have 1 pair of footwear that goes with pretty much everything but I will be wanting to increase that to 3 pairs in the future when I can afford to. The rest includes 2 coats, more old worn out t-shirts than I need and 2 dungarees that I bought during a mental health episode last year that I don't like now that I'm recovering. I'd like to cut my overall number down to about 15-20 depending on the versatility of the clothes. It's been a bit of a shock thinking that I have a lot of clothes, only to find out how many other people have!
Woah, that is really impressive! Do you live in a place with a pretty consistent climate? A friend of mine has 24 items of clothing, which I believe is the lowest count I've seen so far. I can't wrap my mind around fewer than 30 items yet, but, if you can do it, maybe I'll get there one day! On second thought, maybe not. I think the 35-50 item range is right for me, but I'm hoping for that to include shoes in the future.
Vested Interests I live in England so I would say the isn't the most consistent in the world but is fairly consistent for most of the year excluding midwinter cold and summer heatwaves. When it's cold I tend to layer my clothes (such as wearing a pair of leggings under trousers)and my wardrobe includes some knitwear. It probably helps that I don't wear dresses or skirts so that brings the number down a bit. At the moment I probably just cycle between 3 bottoms, 5 tops and 3 warm knitwear items and just wear others when I fancy a change or need to smarten up.
It always seems ridiculous to me that people wear super thick coats to protect the top half of their body, but there is no equivalent protection for our legs, so I too am a fan of layering tights under trousers. Your super simple wardrobe sounds incredible to me! If you ever decide to document it/make a video about it, let me know!
Patrick bateman from Psycho? THAT’S the person you use to promote a capsule wardrobe/work uniform? I am not sure that very fact deters me to do the very thing you are promoting or whether i should be concerned about who you are as a person....Use ANYONE else....ANYONE else.
My voice has been deep since I was a kid. I remember playing this game in elementary school where everyone kept their eyes closed and someone was tapped by the teacher to say "quack quack" and everyone had to guess who it was. Everyone always thought I was a boy.
This video might have been better if she showed her ideas than talking about it, however, it is still pretty useful and informative video if a person has a good imagination. It's not at all pointless.
I pretty much wear a uniform for work: Black or gray slacks, blouse, cardigan and black flats. I get my color and patterns through the blouses and cardigans. It just makes my life so much easier.

You've absolutely nailed this topic. Yours is the most comprehensive and practical guide to style uniforms that I have seen so far.
I appreciate your advice (and delivery!) so much! I've seen countless videos like this, and yours is the first that made sense to me. I especially like the idea of wearing an outfit for a week as a uniform "test". Keep up the great work! I think I just found a new favorite clothing/minimalism channel!
Thank you so much!
Just a note to tell you that I just adore your videos! I love your voice, your humor, your classiness, and your content. Concise, informative, funny, and so easy to watch!
Aww, thank you! I try.
You have a very nice voice! One of the best I have heard on TH-cam. I subscribed so I am hear more of your content. Thank you.
Thank you!
I subscribed for the voice haha
You clearly haven't hear the Lord Maclean
I was thinking the same thing 😍
This was very useful; thank you! A uniform I'm interested in trying is this: black running skirt, fitted black top, and a black half apron with pockets.
You have a very magnetic voice! It's a pleasure to hear and look at you.
Aww, thanks!
I seriously am addicted to these videos. Nicely made!
: D Thanks!
Me too!
God can you read an audio book because damn you have the best voice out of all the youtubers I've heard.
lol, thanks! I'd love it if someone would pay me to read.
This video is so informative! And thanks for the links. Cleaning out my wardrobe because I'm tired of wsting so much energy going through piles of clothes that don't fit anymore. Was feeling overwhelmed with the cleanup so I found your video. t
Thanks for the boost!
Thanks! It doesn't seem like you need much convincing to downsize, but it really does make life so much easier. Good luck!
That's great! Glad you found a uniform that works for you! I wish my own were so streamlined...
You are freaking awesome! I love watching you...yes, the info is amazing, but YOU are just fun!!!
Aww, thanks so much!
Your voice is so calming
it is...
Thanks for answering. Looking forward for the next videos
Done! Posted today! th-cam.com/video/175HTRu7aSI/w-d-xo.html
Yay!! I really like it! Keep it up
Very, very well done.
I volunteered in a hospital a long time ago and I loved wearing scrubs! They're like pajamas, except people respect you when you wear them in public.
Your skin is absolutely glowing! Also, love your videos :-)
Great video. I like the content. Would be good to see the outfit combinations. Maybe you could do a video on the combinations in action, e.g. work outfit at work.
I've been recording my outfits every day this week! I'll post it this weekend.
Vested Interests I look forward to seeing them...I’m going to start round two on my wardrobe in the new year.
I’m cleaning out my closet and made a list and came up with 50 pieces as well
Nice! We all have a lot more time at home on our hands, so I'm glad you're putting it to use. Good luck!
Does your 50 items include underthings? Jackets? Socks? Shoes? Hats?
This is really interesting, and a bit different from the rest. Thanks for sharing! xx
Thanks!
The nod to American Psycho was too funny.
I love the top you're wearing.
Thanks, stranger!
Nice video beauty! Even though I'm just a masters student and never tried personal uniform before, this video makes me know about different life styles.
Have a great day and please keep making great videos!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Vested Interests Thank you! Will do!!
Who wrote the book?
When I first got Invisalign, it was terribly painful. Hang in there, it gets MUCH better!
Sounds like you had it rougher than me! I hope it feels a lot better soon. :)
The more I think about it the more I feel like I could work those elements into a menswear/suit style in more subtle ways they would just be not as formal I guess, and into of course, casual "weekend wear."
Basically if I start with kind of the men's wear/suit/blazer and very basic bottoms as the core, and then just add a touch of the other things, using neutrals and limited color pallet...
Thanks so much for doing this video I loved it.
Yay! I'm glad you liked it!
I want to have a colourful capsule wardrobe. Nothing grey nor black and white nor cream nor dull. Any tips? Thank you very much!
Vested Interests Thank you!
Helpful videos, thank you.
Loved this, thanks, but you didnt show us yours! Was so looking forward to seeing your uniform.
New to your channel. It's late now but I've bookmarked How to Build a Cohesive, Minimal Wardrobe but do you not model your clothes at all?
In the cohesive wardrobe video, I don't wear the clothes but I have my rail of clothes behind me which I use as examples. Just posted a video today of the greater part of a week of winter work uniform outfits: th-cam.com/video/175HTRu7aSI/w-d-xo.html
Brill thanks, will watch those next. I love clothes and styling on people. And I'm more a work clothes/uniform kinda gal. :O)
I love you vid. ty for the help
You can film a video about decluttering your phone!! Yeah, your phone! I often uninstall useless apps and download my photos frequently.
Oh, I'm game, I just don't think my office can handle that ;)
I wish you would have shown the actual outfits
Steve Jobs.
mom jeans
Have you seen Lefie and her video about her minimalist wardrobe/uniform?
so good to be minimalist
07:06 Now I know why some people seem to bathe in their perfume or cologne.
😂
Really good advice. Thanks! However, I agree with Thais, a couple of photos would be good. ;0
I know. I hope this makes up for it: th-cam.com/video/175HTRu7aSI/w-d-xo.html
🖐🏼🙃
did't want to click like because it was at 666 but could help myself..
Not the time... the likes? Apparently now it has two more, so you should be safe : P
haha yeah the likes, great vid by the way ;p
Patrick bateman from Psycho? THAT’S the person you use to promote a capsule wardrobe/work uniform? I am not sure that very fact deters me to do the very thing you are promoting or whether i should be concerned about who you are as a person....Use ANYONE else....ANYONE else.
I like your teeth, a lot.
Ha, thanks! They just look frighteningly stained right now because the retainer trays are stained.
Wonderful low voice, hope it's not a tobacco voice
My voice has been deep since I was a kid. I remember playing this game in elementary school where everyone kept their eyes closed and someone was tapped by the teacher to say "quack quack" and everyone had to guess who it was. Everyone always thought I was a boy.
Well, there are so many squealy/whiny/nasally, I don't think you sound like a boy, I think your voice gets ppl to want to listen
Are you an INTJ? You really seem like it, based on your videos.
I just pulled up the screen shot I took of my results the one time I took that test. I got ESTJ-A. No idea what that means.
thought the same, she comes of as INTP or INTJ. :)
You talk too much without demonstrating something.
If you were kind, I would point you towards the video I made in which I demonstrated my personal uniform for a week. But you weren't.
You talk not minimal at all .Chinese people say one picture 1000 words .
How about some visuals and a decluttered, surgically concise amount of spoken word in your vid
I wish you had shown your ideas instead of talking. This was pointless.
Marie with an E so rude.
This video might have been better if she showed her ideas than talking about it, however, it is still pretty useful and informative video if a person has a good imagination. It's not at all pointless.
This commentary is pointless.
