Hi Squirrel The "bald guy" is Ray Cooper session percussionist who's worked with many massive stars like Elton John, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones the list is endless. Highly respected musician. Search Wikipedia for him you'll be amazed.
The Music For Montserrat concert was brilliant and raised £1.5m for disaster relief after the island suffered a devastating volcanic eruption. It was put together by Sir George Martin, the Beatles' producer, who had a studio on the island. Most if not all of the artists who performed had recorded there at some point including Mark Knopfler with Dire Straits when they made their massive selling Brothers in Arms album, which included Money For Nothing. To the right of Eric Clapton you can see Dire Straits' keyboard player Guy Fletcher and guitarist Phil Palmer who joined them on their last ever tour having previously been a member of Clapton's band. In addition to Money For Nothing, Knopfler also performed Brothers in Arms with the orchestra and joined Clapton in a slow version of Layla and Same Old Blues. Other acts included Midge Ure, Elton John and Paul McCartney plus the last ever performance of Carl Perkins singing Blue Suede Shoes, a song that he wrote. I thoroughly recommend checking out more from this concert.
I think I've mentioned it before, but I was at school with Sting. Both Sting and Mark Knopfler are from my neck of the woods, Newcastle upon Tyne in the north east of the UK. Mark was born in Scotland but moved here as a child, so he is an adopted Geordie. Sting's family are from the east of the City in the shipbuilding area.
Takes me straight back to 1986, staying late at school to complete our CDT Projects. I had a Walkman with some external speakers and we just played Dire Straits Brothers in Arms album at full blast, every week for about 6 weeks was the same…..that album is a big part of my teenage years. F2W
6:06 Mark plays the hardest part of the guitar solo while having a chat with Sting :D
Four legends of British music together on the same stage 🤟

Couldn't remember his name, I always associate him with Elton John as he is always somewhere in the background 😀
