I made one today, 12 years after you made this video, based on your instructions. While making it, I did NOT think it would work out--but praise the Lord....it did! Thank you very much.

Just made one, thank you for the instructions. For anyone else looking to make one, unless you have waist length hair, this is too big. Id downsize If your hair isn't super thick or is only a little past the shoulders like mine. Also, for those confused with the 2 inch piece of elastic, and then seeing the really long one being threaded through....I had no idea what to do, so I used a piece about halfway between the 2 inch piece and the big piece the woman uses. Turns out, 2 or 3 inches would be perfect. So, the picture is the correct length, but they show her threading the wrong size elastic (the long one). So, use the two/three inch elastic at the bottom where it's thread through. Lastly, make sure your fabric isn't too thick. I had a huge amount of trouble sewing the fan folded parts. Took me three heavy duty needles and about 7 tries. Finally got it done and it doesn't look pretty so it's a good thing that part is hidden 🤣 I used a stretch fabric that's not really very thick as well, but was thicker than what was shown on the video. I hope this helps anyone else who comes along to attempt to make this ❤️

I tried this today, it turned out well, but I think next time i will have to down size it a bit, as I don't have really long hair.
Anyway Thanks for the tutorial, its literally the only one I could find.

I liked watching this, it does seem like an easy covering. I didn't see you use the 2 in. elastic that you mentioned though. Where does that come in?

I gave my sewing machines away because the thread always gets tangled up. Do you think I could hand sew this and have it stay together?

Yes, you could. If you ever get another sewing machine try these tips to avoid those “birds nests”… keep your thread out behind the presser foot before you begin to sew. Keep it all lint free by cleaning it often. I use a keyboard vacuum attachment set to help because it’s easier to suck out all the little bits of lint. Hope that helps!
