  • We hit up the another iconic outback highway - The Oodndatta Track!
    Kicking off from the beautiful Southern Flinders Ranges in Cradock and working our way north we bring you along for the ride and show you some amazing spots to set up camp and things to see. Stopping in at the Prairie Hotel before pushing on up the highway to Muloorina Station for a swim! We then hit the Oodnadatta track and make our way to Coward Springs for another dip in the Mineral Spa to escape the 40 degree heat! What dreams are made of!

    Muloorina is on my bucket list and the drive out to Lake Eyre. Took a dip at Coward springs on my way back from Coober Pedy on a trip, doesnt look like too many flies around, you guys are lucky. Cant wait for part 2.

      Cheers Grant!
      Muloorina was stunning and so fresh with all the rain they’ve had up there!
      We didn’t get to drive out to Lake Eyre but gotta leave something for next time!
      Flies weren’t bad at all! We got lucky!

    Mound springs was amazing-green crop circle in the middle of nothing! You both need a medal to get out of the car in that heat and wind😩

    Good to see you getting out and doing it. Just one comment from someone who has driven most of it. If you see a puddle in the middle of the road, please try and help the road and slow down and drive around the water. All blasting through the middle does is damages the track, sprays your rig with crappy water and tries to force into seals. Otherwise well done.

      Couldn’t agree more Glenn, we did our best to avoid water where we could, but the further we got the more it rained the wetter and more slippery the roads got.
      Thanks Glenn for your feedback!

    Great episode Guys. The Red Gum slab tables at the Cradock Hotel were mightily impressive, and they looked nice and flat still !!. I love the Oody Track, so much to see, a lot of history. Thanks for your efforts and sharing, take care, cheers.

    We used to stay at Mulloorina Station for work. Remember one day a bus load of backpackers turned up and were skinny dipping in that waterhole lol

    Great Video, I noticed you have a pooch on board, I've been wanting to do almost your exact trip and want to take my kelpie. How did you go with camping and national parks etc with a dog? Was there anywhere in the Flinders Ranges you could camp with a dog? Did you find places you couldn't stay because you had a dog? I so want to take my Kelpie but don't want it to make the trip hard to find pet friendly free camps.

    • @Wanderingaus_adv
      @Wanderingaus_adv  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea we take Jarrah as much as we possibly can!
      The Oodnadatta Track is all dogs allowed, until you get past Oodnadatta towards Dalhousie. That section is no dogs. Do have to be mindful of baiting around the place.
      Having the dog on board didn’t stop us camping anywhere.
      Hope that helps 👍🏼👍🏼

    Great video guys! What do you do with your dog when you go to wineries/eat in the pub etc - are they all dog friendly if you sit outside? Thanks!

    • @Wanderingaus_adv
      @Wanderingaus_adv  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gday Kelly!
      We try to go to mostly dog friendly places if we’re not sure we’ll either ask or call ahead. Most places have been happy.
      Also depends on the weather, in the cooler months Jarrah loves a backseat nap but if the weather is warm we’ll find a shady spot to park and tie Jarrah up outside the car with his water bowl and bed.

      Gday Ross
      Thanks for the feedback mate! Appreciate it. We did this trip at the very beginning of October this year. It gets warm, but the heat we experience is unseasonal for that time of year apparently.
      Good luck and enjoy!
